A list of puns related to "Chaldean Syrian Church"
I know this isnβt anyones responsibility but if anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
Please recommend apps/websites/literature that can help me learn Assyrian and know better our history in general.
I hope this doesn't come across as offensive, but surely if this is the case, using an Anaphora dedicated to someone who (rightfully or wrongfully) is anathematised is bad
I'm currently having a discussing with a friend of mine and I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on the use of the Anaphora of Nestorius by the Chaldeans, is it heretical? Is it technically okay since there's no commemoration? It's such a specific topic that probably a whole 10 people care about but I can't help but feel uneasy at the thought of a prayer dedicated to 'Mar Nestorius' but I'm not looking for the kneejerk reaction of 'heretical' I'm curious what's up with this. My friends asked a similar question on the Catholic subreddit too.
What is the difference between Syriac Catholic and Chaldean Catholic churches? I thought Chaldeans were Catholic Assyrians already? Also isn't Syriac another name for Assyrians/Arameans? Since Aramean means an Assyrian who is a member of the Syriac Orthodox church, isn't Syriac Catholic as stupid a name as, let's say, Chaldean Orthodox? It's so confusing.
Let me get a few things out of the way. My father is a part of the Chaldean Catholic and my mother is a part of Assyrian Church of the East. I was baptized into the Assyrian Church but raised as a Chaldean Catholic and only know our Chaldean Dialect. I consider myself Assyrian and will never call myself a Chaldean.
Why do so many priests in the Chaldean Catholic Church want to destroy our community? The church is supposed to be built on family values uniting us together but the only thing the Chaldean church does is spew out bullshit driving us. They're trying to push the propaganda that we're not Assyrian. I'm not fighting about being Catholic or being Orthodox, that is your own choice.
How fucking dense are these priests and even clergy. I know many Chaldean Catholics including my father realize we are all the same people but a shit ton don't, including some in my family. It's not that hard to understand. The Chaldean church broke off from the Assyrian Church of the East in the 1500's.
I swear to God I will beat the living shit out of a priest who spews out this bullshit in the middle of mass, I don't even give a fuck anymore. They are the reason our community is so divided. Even if you don't like being called Assyrian at least realized we all came from the same group of people; we just follow different churches. The same goes with Syriacs.
Where did this separation all start? Who's the dipshit who started referring to ourselves as Chaldean? It's honestly disgusting. Even when I tell some people who consider themselves Chaldean about the Churches history they fucking ignore it. Next time I'm going to tell them to go fuck themselves.
I am very interested in Assyrian history, language, and culture. Please excuse my ignorance. I came here with these questions to better understand your ancient and beautiful culture.
I am a Palestinian Arab, born and bred in Damascus, Syria.
