A list of puns related to "Cameron Indoor Stadium"
Virginia and Cincinnati's defenses have been absolutely smothering this year, even more so than they have been in previous years. Counting conference games only, Cincinnati's AdjD is 79.3(!!!), whereas UVA's is 85. Since AdjD is normalized for the average D-1 offense, these are comparable despite UVA's clearly tougher conference schedule. All we need now is for these two teams to meet up.
Edit: When I say "their own record" I'm referring to pre-Duke. Both teams could still collapse and not break the record for season-long defense.

I know 1978 has seen a lot of love lately, particularly this show, but has anyone else listened to the matrix for this show? I think it's pretty well done, and it fixes Jerry not being audible during Dire Wolf. Not usually a huge fan of AUD recordings (personal preference and all), but I am starting to understand the appeal of "feeling like you are there" with the hoots and hollers...a good matrix seems like a nice middle ground. Any other good matrix suggestiosn?
It gives it a very old-school look, and I like it a lot.
So every year my brother and I make it a point to watch the Duke vs UNC games together. Every year we talk about how cool it would be to go to the game at Cameron Indoor Stadium. I've decided that we've done enough talking and it's time to actually do it. I took a look on stubhub and the cheapest tickets were $1,750. I'd be willing to pay that if I need to but I'm sure there's got to be a better way to get tickets. How does Reddit suggest I go about it? Any other tips you'd like to share? Sites I need to see in that area?
My brother (now 20) has been a rabid Duke basketball fan since birth. Since he's in college now and being more awesome by the day, I'm trying to make him an epic Christmas gift. My plan is as follows. This is a plan for just a tabletop--it could be set on top of two chairs, another table, sawhorses--flexibility and transportability is key.
The table will be 3.5' x 7' (the ratio is 1:1.88, but at the end there's a blue area that says "DUKE" that's not included in the court, technically, which I'm going to use to lengthen the table a little bit). I'm planning on starting with plywood, probably 1/2'. I would LOVE to find some kind of wood veneer to put on top to make a "wood floor" look--even if the "boards" of the veneer are nowhere near small enough to be to scale, I think the floor effect is important. If anyone knows anything about veneers or has an idea of how to make this effect, I'm open to brainstorming. Currently I'm looking at this, but I haven't gone to hardware stores to investigate how this stuff looks in person yet.
After the veneer, I'm pretty much going to just paint the basketball court lines, etc on there to scale. I'm considering getting decals printed or ordering them online for the "Coach K Court" part and possibly the Duke logo in the middle. Luckily, Duke has a pretty simple logo, so I'm not too worried about pulling this part off if I do have to paint it.
Then I'll high gloss the whole thing so that it has the shine of a basketball court. Does anyone have recommendations for a product that could help create this kind of shine and smooth finish?
For reference, here are a couple of pictures of the floor I'm replicating:
