A list of puns related to "Buzzfeed Bad"
I've come across a few "top 10 (tv show) bloopers" and the voice over explaining why it's funny makes it not funny. They put out so much crap they really reach for topics.
Don't be fooled by all the marketing and positive reviews like I was. The toy is a $50 piece of junk. I can't speak for the entire Bellesa brand but I've been disappointed by how customer service has handled my disappointment. I thought for $50 I would be getting a toy of decent quality but it's so incredibly loud and the "suction" is a total joke. The toy is not sexy at all. It's boring and the loud, rattly vibration is distracting. I sent a video to customer service and even they acknowledged it was super loud before basically telling me "no refunds, tough luck." I have $10 toys from Amazon that perform SO much better. I feel scammed βΉοΈ
I heard the publish articles about how sexualizing women us bad, but also publish articles that promote sexualizing men
It's clear that people are becoming much less interested in Buzzfeed's style of lowbrow journalism: listicles, intersectional activism, culture pandering. This kind of stuff just isn't that important in the midst of a global pandemic.
I mean shit, I heard that there's a viral conspiracy video called "Plandemic" going around on Instagram of all places.
If Instagram influencers are sharing conspiracy videos, you're gonna have trouble getting through to them with top ten lists about which disney princess you are.
Ironically you can call this video fake news, that's how it's being portrayed in media. Fake people sharing fake news? Seems fitting.
But I digress. I've heard that other reporters are saying Buzzfeed UK and Australia did good work, but I'm having a hard time finding evidence of that.
I found some Buzzfeed UK Articles but I'm not sure if they're representative. But if they are, it's clear why people weren't paying attention.
Some examples:
"Which "Wallace And Gromit" Character Are You?"
"Dumb Things Patients Told Their Doctors"
"Only A Geography Whizz Will Be Able To Get Over 83% On This English Counties Quiz" (how is it somehow worse for rhyming?)
I found this masturbatory article especially offensive:
The Eternal War Between BuzzFeed And BuzzFeed UK
It's my view that while it's sad some legitimately good journalists might be out of the job because of this, it's also my view that they would be better served working at another news organization.
So what might change my view? I know that Buzzfeed in general does make some kind of half-hearted attempt at real journalism in order to stave off opinions like mine, but I'm not convinced they were doing anything that really made them stand out. That might do it. Or maybe the content that people in the UK and Australia were ignoring was mostly "real" journalism that might have been useful to their lives.
