Bruce County, Ontario Puns

Hi everyone,

I’m a prospective teacher and will graduate this year from a university in the maritimes. My major is in geography and minor in french. While I am interested in obtaining a master’s in a professional geography program, teaching is also an option I’m considering. If I do take this route, I would move and attend a university in Ontario. My partner lives in Bruce County (Port Elgin) and has a great job, so I would preferably seek employment in that area once I’ve finished an education degree [intermediate/secondary]. I’m just looking for some insight on the school district in that area and how difficult it would be to find a permanent job. Thanks!

Hello all-

As the title says, I am in Bruce County, Ontario Canada and am just getting started in the process. I spoke to my GP who said she would recommend a couple surgeons, but I thought I would reach out to see if anyone had any advice for doctors in my geographical area, for those to avoid just as much as those that are great.

I am certainly hoping there are some great surgeons near-ish to me; I would be less inclined to travel very far but could, if need be!

I am just getting back into woodworking and am newish to the area.

Google has not been my friend on finding hardwood dealers in the area. Especially ones that offer rough cut and S2S (I only own a planer no jointer yet).

I have a trailer so delivery isn’t a requirement.

Long shot, but thought I'd see if any one in my neighborhood wants to go for a ski.

Could you guys help me to clear up a few questions?

1. Coyotes are open all year?
2. Only need a small game licence, no special tags or seals?
3. Resident vs. Non-resident just means resident of Ontario, not resident of the WMU in question?
4. The restriction of muzzle energy during big game seasons is a bit confusing. It's basically restricting you to a rimfire gun to make sure you're not poaching big game? In this WMU, there is no moose or elk season, so as long as I stay out of the 1 week deer season in early November, it's ok?

And what gun/cartridge would you recommend?

Maybe up to $1000 all in.

We have a single family home size lot in a small town. We’re looking to hire a builder and have gotten a few promising candidates. We have never done this before so it’s a bit overwhelming, especially when either of us know anything about building/home stuff. Looking for advice from those who had gone through the process. What are the things that we should be asking our builder? What should we splurge on and what we shouldn’t? Anything by you can think of from the planning stage to the building stage. Things that came up unexpectedly and you wished you knew. Keep in mind that this is not our forever home so we’re not looking to build a luxury home, but do have a budget for a mid-range/above mid-range. We’re starting a family and want a house that will grow with us but we plan to move to something else in about 10 years. And we work from home so comfort is very important. TIA
