Am I wrong or are the two hashtag bride tribe episodes not in the twitch archives? I wanted to watch them but can't find them.
So I bought these silver knot bracelets as a way to ask my bridal party to be in the wedding. I opened the package and I discovered that the bracelets came with these hair ties that say bride tribe. Is this phrase offensive? I honestly don't know what to do with these hair ties, and there are like nine of them. I'm very curious to hear feedback on whether this is cultural appropriation or if I'm over thinking this.

Hi! So I've been playing with the idea of giving my Bride Tribe their proposal boxes as their Christmas gifts. However, I'm unsure if doing that would be weird or possibly rude? I was hoping to get some opinions on the matter and thought this would be the best place to ask! π
Okay, so FH has one brother and very few close guy friends. I have three sisters and lots of REALLY good girl friends. As much as I wish I could, I can't ask them all to be BMs, but I do want them to be involved (if they want). I'm thinking about dashing off a quick card with a small goody (like a bracelet or a split of bubbly) for each of them, but I don't want it to be something they feel obligated to do or feel bad about. For reference, I'm in the South (technically) and "house parties" are a thing here, but generally you ask them to do the grunt work and that's definitely NOT what we'll be doing at my wedding. We would most likely offer them small flower crowns (or some other version of the BM flowers) and acknowledge them either on the ceremony program or at the reception, but not ask them to buy dresses or perform tasks. They would def be invited to all showers and the bachelorette, though.
So here's what I'm thinking about putting in the card. Do y'all think I should send, or just skip? Would you feel bad or good or meh about getting something like this (instead of nothing or a traditional house party invite)?

My fiance and I have decided to forego having an official wedding party, and instead just find a way to include his son (who will be 9 years old at the time) in the ceremony.
If I were to have bridesmaids, it would have just been my 3 sisters and best friend...but my best friend wouldn't be able to come anyway (she's a 10-hour flight away). All 4 have expressed interest in helping with wedding planning, so I was thinking it would be cute to "officially" invite them to be my Bride Tribe in the same way many brides officially invite/ask people to be bridesmaids. Has anyone else formally invited your informal bride tribe, and if so, how? I'm looking for creative ways to make them feel like they're a part of the day (because they are) even though they won't be standing by my side during the ceremony. All 4 know that I am not having bridemaids, so they aren't expecting anything...so it would be a really nice surprise if I could recognize them in some way.
On the flip side, I would also love ideas on how I could recognize them at the ceremony.

For any anti-discrimination movement to go viral (as in large crowds of ppl from all walks of life protesting), it needs to rile up the masses- and to rile up the masses, there needs to be 3 factors: 1. a pattern of continual transgressions 2. sympathy for the victim 3. an institution to rail against.
BLM (viral):
- The Pattern: police brutality/cops killing black people
- Sympathy: early education about slavery. In modern day, the association with "urban" groups and poverty, and disadvantages in the workplace. Overt racism
- Institution: The Police
Notes: Black ppl have had the trifecta as summarized above. The 3rd factor being significant, as a whole culture of mistrust and hate against the police has always been there, most markedly amongst black/brown ppl - and to a lesser extent, white ppl. Fuck Da Police has become an anthem.
Native Americans (not viral):
- The Pattern: Native Americans have the highest poverty levels. Until very recently, white men exploited a legal loophole where they could not be persecuted on reservations, so what they did was travel to reservations specifically to rape native women https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=12260610
- Sympathy: early education about white men stealing native lands and massacring tribes. Today, arguably Natives are the worst off of any group in America.
- Institution: n/a
Notes: Despite having clear patterns of discrimination and despite having sympathy on their side (everyone instinctually knows whites stole these lands having learned that in school, and everyone has read the story of the smallpox laden blankets. The Native poverty and alcoholism rates are also well known), there has been no Native Lives Matter movement. This is because there hasn't been any institution that enough ppl hate, to rally against. Rallying against white ppl in general doesn't work, you need to win white ppl over to make a movement viral.
Stop Asian Hate (not viral)
- The Pattern: pre covid - signficant trend of white men violence and murder against Asian female significant others. Asians being targeted for robberies. Mail order brides. Post covid - anti Asian hate, multiple cases of Asians being singled out and pushed onto subway tracks
- Sympathy: n/a
- Institution: n/a
