From people of the pre-merge brian seems to stand out as having potential of being a great player. Like Kelley he was swapped screwed. He did show a stroke of genius with the bait Blake plan.
Having listened to Sunshine State Of Mind in full for the first time over the weekend, I have one overriding thought.
Why in the actual f*ck did he not sing more FGL songs!
His voice is fantastic and has a real smoothness to it with a good twang. I liken it to a smoother Tim McGraw.
As for the album, I liked most of it. The nautical/beach theme gets tired quickly but individually I liked quite a few of the songs (Highway on the water, Sunburnt, barefoot and in love & Say the word stand out).
Just keep finding myself thinking how different FGL's sound and certain songs would sound with Brian singing lead over Tyler instead of turned down backing vocals and an occasional bridge.

Why doesn’t Brian Kelley take more lead vocals?
Brian Kelley has great guitar skills and some excellent songwrites but I bet you didn’t know about his voice. If you go and look at the song sittin pretty where Kelley takes the lead. In my opinion he has a good voice maybe not as unique as Tyler Hubbards but still a great voice so why doesn’t he get more lead?
How much do we love them? I recently started following them and buying things from their clothing line. They seem like such a great couple and I love the ethics/style/quality behind their brand. Is there anything to know about them or FGL?
