This post was not meant to ruin your Tuesdays lol.
It's been a long journey, buds. The future is bright right now, but sometimes it's important to remember how far this team has come to truly appreciate where they find themselves today. Perspective is key.
Sure, if half the moves weren't made during this time in Leafs history, it wouldn't have lead most of us to become masochists, allowed us to experience premature balding, master stress eating, develop irreversible trust and anger issues, or truly find out what the human liver is truly capable of. That said, if half of those moves weren't made, they also wouldn't have lead us to draft guys like Rielly, Nylander, or Marner. We wouldn't have acquired guys like Muzzin or Brodie, or a litany of free agents from overseas looking to join an organization with a newly reformed reputation on the verge of something special. Oakville's own, John Tavares wouldn't have chosen to come home on a day we'll all remember where we were when we heard he had signed with the Maple Leafs. And if we did keep Tuukka Rask, maybe he gets us enough wins throughout the years to the point where we're not dead last with the ability to win the draft lottery and acquire a generational goal scorer in Auston Matthews, a player who ended up completely transforming the future of this franchise. Without the tire fires, Shanny doesn't save us from the ashes. Also, please note, I am, in no way, not defending the Andrew Raycroft deal, like, at

I've been thinking about having him curate my ear, but I'm not sure since he's not an APP member. He's very well known throughout LA and New York. He owns Body Electric in LA.
Anyone been pierced by him?
Just before 1:00 a.m. on December 9, 2015, the state of Georgia executed Brian Terrell. It took a nurse nearly an hour to find a vein for the lethal injection IV and, as the execution drug was being administered, Brian mouthed the words: βDidnβt do it.β Brianβs lawyers argued that no physical evidence linked Brian to the murder and that his conviction and death sentence were the product of prosecutorial misconduct and false and misleading testimony.
I. The Murder of John Watson:
On Monday morning, June 22, 1992, the body of John Watson was found outside his home on Highway 142 in Covington, Georgia. John had been shot four times and had suffered blunt force trauma to his face and head. John was discovered by police officers and neighbors who had been summoned to his home by Brianβs mother, Barbara Terrell. Barbara had begun assisting John with meals and errands in 1989 and had recently become engaged to marry him. Barbara had driven to Johnβs house that morning after receiving a call informing her that he had not shown up for his morning dialysis appointment. Police appear to have quickly focused their suspicion upon Brian because of his admitted involvement in forging checks against Johnβs bank account. That previous Saturday, June 20, John had reported Brian to the police after discovering ten checks forged for a total of $8,700. Three of the checks (totaling $2,100) had been made out to John, while the other seven checks were made out to Dexter Victor. Barbara identified her son's handwriting on the first three checks made out in his name. John had declined to press charges, however, telling the police and Barbara that he would not seek an arrest warrant on Brian as long as he received a substantial repayment by the following Monday, June 22. Barbara relayed Johnβs message to Brian, who took responsibility for all of the checks and promised to make repayment. The police speculated that Brian must have murdered John on June 22 to prevent him from pressing charges for the forgeries, which would result in the revocation of his parole.
II. Evidence of possible innocence:
Brianβs lawyers continually asserted he was innocent. They argued that no physical evidence connected Brian to the killing and that prosecutors had used false and misleading testimony to secure the conviction that drew the death penalty. Furthermore, the motive of Brian killing John to prevent him from pressing charges βdoes not withstand scrutinyβ¦it strains credulity to conclude that B
