(you ever notice how in an earlier episode when they were trying to figure out who wrote the filthy poem Graham says "We don't have a basement", but in this episode, they do?)
(Delia was the girl in Scary Movie who got stuck in a dog door, which I first saw twenty years ago tonight, maybe to the minute)
AJ Langer showed up for the first day of shooting this episode with chickenpox, she had to be quarantined, they needed to find out if anyone working on the show had pregnant wives (chickenpox is dangerous to pregnant women), the whole episode had to be rewritten. They were in a crisis with none of the show runners, Winnie, Alan. They realized Rayanne was the glue that held everyone together, secretly giving information to everyone. The script had been so sharpened and refined, which always happens in tv, many drafts, and they just had to suddenly wing everything and jot it down on paper. Luckily it expanded on Rickie's story. It's the first time he acknowledges he's attracted to guys
The wallpaper metaphor is one of Devon's favorite parts of the whole show
All the "likes", "umms", "errs" and pauses were scripted
(Devon was about fifteen in this)
Delia was curvy and no one cares, you didn't see that on tv a lot back then (like Amy on Freaks and Geeks)
The Substitute was the first thing Jason ever wrote
Bedford Falls production company was very open, Ed and Marshall had made Thirtysomething but they were open to everyone's ideas and contributions
Devon was interested in writing and was allowed to be a fly on the wall in the writers room (I just checked his IMDB hoping he'd written big things since but, meh)
(don't you guys like when Jordan's hair finally changes form the different-lengths-almost-mullet to the same length all around, soft bunch by his face, Kurt Cobain Angela Chase look?)
They thought "Finally, an erection from actual, physical contact" would never make it to ABC
Devon says Brian didn't understand irony, he never said anything ironic and if someone said something ironic it was lost on him (but Jordan picked up on it quickly!)
When Angela, Brian, Rickie, and Delia are talking o
Hi there guys. Iβve been a fairly casual fan for some time. I had heard the classic hits all over before, and in the last couple years I have been more adventurous and listened to some of their more mature albums (Pet Sounds, Today!, Friends, Wild Honey, Smiley Smile and the βSmile Sessionsβ). Brilliant songs, unworldly vocals.
I have not really delved into this later part of their so-called classic era yet, but am wondering which songs have βthat voiceβ? The angelic falsetto, which with the Boys harmonies makes their songs sound like nothing else. It is my understanding that due to drugs and atrophy it wasnβt there later, but surely itβs there for some numbers in this period?
Apologies for such a basic question.
Greetings friends, I added Dutch legend Cruyff to the biography series of characters that are not in the anime and but in manga. Do not bother your criticism so that I can improve myself I hope you enjoy it.
I added english subtittle too.
Itβs my favorite performance of that song, ever. Really hoping someone has it laying around or an mp3 or something? π©π
