A list of puns related to "Borrelia Miyamotoi"
Hi, i though i was gonna share a quick summary of my story in hope it could help some of you that might be in the same situation as i am/was.
about 1.5-2 years ago i started to have weird symptoms flu like (fever, heavy fatigue) but also cognitive symptoms ( heavy diziness, hard to focus, hard to think at all at some point), it was like being poisonned, but everyday
i saw a few doctors and specialists which didn't found what was going on, so they concluded it was stress...
symptoms persisted, after a few months i started having new symptoms, mainly pains in my joints. it started with knees and spread to other parts of the body.
i kept seeking help with other doctors as pain and cognitive symptoms were not compatible with my professional and personnal life. a few doc i saw suspected lyme disease ( as i was beaten by a tick before it happend, and use to go walk in the woods often), but the tests came back negative (did 2 or 3 elisa)
probably did 20 blood works, did serveral scanners, IRM etc, everything came back negative, on the paper i was perfectly healthy but it got to a point were i had to stop working, i even had to stop walking my dog as the pain in my knees was unberable.
one doctor in a hospital, which was supposed to be one of the best in my country, concluded that i probably have CFS/ME, and told me the only way to treat it was with a psychologist... pretty depressing
finally i contacted some doctor which use to work in research on lyme disease. He ran other tests and managed to identify the problem.
It's appears that it's an infection by borrelia miyamotoi, which is a kind of Borrelia but not the one that gives lyme disease ( Borrelia burgdorferi), it gives symptoms-like lyme disease, as i understood it's not identified by classic elisa antibody test which only tests for a few borrelia strains found this article about a girl who had the same issue and late diagnostic : https://www.syracuse.com/health/201...ny-womans-mystery-illness-finally-solved.html
So currently i'm on antibiotics trying to get rid of it... pray for me guys Sorry for long post and bad english
I have not yet got tested for Lyme, but I am considering getting tested for it as well as Bartonella and Babesia. I have the below tests available to me in my location (Estonia). Which one of these in your opinion is reliable and worth getting?
BORRELIA
Borrelia Elispot (Azfeli, Garini, Burgdorferi)
Borrelia Miyamotoi Elispot
CD3-/CD57+Cells
Borrelia IgG-/IgM-ELISA
Borrelia C6 ELISA
Borrelia IgG-/IgM-Immunoblot (WesternBlot)
BARTONELLA
Bartonella Elispot
Bartonella IgG v-aineet (henselae+quintana)
Bartonella IgM v-aineet (henselae+quintana)
BABESIA
Babesia Elispot
Babesia IgG-/IgM
People active on this subreddit need to become more aware of Tick Borne Relapsing Fever and recommend to others that they get tested for it.
I see this all the time - someone new here will describe their symptoms and ask if they have Lyme disease and people will respond "get tested for babesia, lyme, bartonella".. I don't think I've ever seen anyone suggest testing for TBRF and to me that's unacceptable.
There's what, 50 strains or more of Borrelia out there?? Only a few of those strains actually cause Lyme disease, with Borrelia Burgdorferi being the most popular/common. But what about the rest??? The rest fall under the Tick Borne Relapsing Fever category, with the most common strains being Borrelia Hermsii, Borrelia Turicatae and Borrelia Miyamotoi.. Honestly it's just weird how they categorize the strains/species, Borrelia is Borrelia imo..
DOCTORS should be more aware of TBRF as well, like come on now.. I had previously visited 3 different Lyme doctors and not one of them had me tested for Relapsing Fever, so over the course of a few years I kept testing negative for Lyme over and over, scratching my head and wondering what the fuck was wrong with my mind and body as I descended into hell.. I didn't understand, my symptoms were nearly identical to Lyme, but.. I just shrugged it off because my tests would come back negative. Eventually the disease progressed to the point where it shattered my life when I woke up one morning, I went into psychosis for weeks, and am basically schizophrenic today. If it wasn't for my 4th and most recent doctor who did have me tested for TBRF, I never would've known I had Borrelia Miyamotoi.
Facts! Borrelia Miyamotoi is actually more prevalent than Burgdorferi in some parts of the U.S... Such as some parts of the Bay Area, California, where I contracted it while visiting family.
So yea people, please suggest testing for TBRF when you suggest testing to others.. Honestly it saddens me when I wonder how many thousands of people out there, get bitten then test negative for Lyme and then just continue on with their lives, completely unaware for years until their neurological symptoms begin.. All thanks to the fucking oblivious "lyme doctors" who should've had them tested for it in the first place.
TLDR if you suggest getting a Lyme test to others then please try to recommend testing for Tick Borne Relapsing Fever (TBRF) as well.. It's serious shit and more prevalent than Lyme/Borrelia Burgdorferi in some parts of t
... keep reading on reddit β‘Just got some bloodwork done by my GP and Iβm scared as hell. Under 20 is considered normal but mines at 240.. sheβs having me tested for hepatitis in 2 weeks. Iβm not on any Lyme treatment plans other than a few herbs. I have borrelia miyamotoi and Iβm 31 years old and donβt drink although Iβll admit I was doing heroin, meth and fentanyl for a year straight until recently because I was ready to give up and overdose and die while I was feeling my worst and couldnβt function. I donβt drink a lot of water throughout the day for starters and my piss is legit dark yellow whenever I do.
Iβm worried Iβm not going to wake up one of these days and I canβt let my parents find me dead in my bed. Any tips? Do I combat the Lyme as they may be causing the damage or do I focus on detoxing my liver? Help pls
Hi! I'm a 19 year old girl and I recently got diagnosed with (chronic?) lymes disease. I got bitten by what the doctor thought was a mosquito when I was around 9 years old, it was a huge bite with the circle around it. Turns out it was a tick and the doctor just said I was allergic to mosquitos. My whole life I've had brain fog, stomach problems, migraines, and just an overall feeling of sickness. I've gotten probably about a hundred tests done and no one could find anything wrong with me. I then got tested for Lymes after a homeopathic doctor found I had the antibodies. I took my test results to a normal doctor and he said "I don't trust a thing homeopathic doctors have to say, you're completely fine, you're negative under CDC guidelines." Then proceeded to tell me to just take vitamins. Anyways, shortly after, I found I have the co-infection called borrelia miyamotoi. I get migraines almost everyday and they are so painful to the point where it feels like my skull is on fire and my eyes are throbbing. It makes me want to literally rip my eyeballs out. Nothing helps besides excedrin extra strength but I can't be taking that every day, especially while on Adderall. I am constantly in pain and everything feels like a chore. It's really hard being a college student and having to deal with this. I have to take a ridiculous amount of supplements and do weekly IV treatments with antibiotics, just to get on oral antibiotics in the future. Does anyone have any advice to cope?
Hi everyone, after being diagnosed with lyme this summer (having most likely had it for over a year) my doctor (lyme-literate) sent off some blood to be tested at a belgian lab that tests for βphagesβ. It came back unequivocally positive for Borrelia myamotoi and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this / had had this?
I canβt find much online and Iβm wondering whether any of you have had experience treating it, or had any insight into this particular bacteria.
Many thanks!
Anybody on here know anything about Borrelia Hemsii? Last October I did the Phage test through RED labs in Belgium, and I tested positive for Borrelia Miyamotoi and a recurrent fever group.
I retested this April, and now I only test positive for Borrelia Hemsii, which is one of the strains that causes recurrent fever. I don't have an appointment with my doctor until May 10, and I'm finding as much as I can on thee internet, but I haven't been able to find as muh info as I would like.
If any of you have been diagnosed/treated for Borrelia Hemsii, I'd love to hear from you! Or if anyone has any good sources of information I'd appreciate those, too.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
The nurse asked the rabbit, βwhat is your blood type?β
βI am probably a type Oβ said the rabbit.
The doctor says it terminal.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat
Do your worst!
i posted a few months ago in the covid thread, but i'm gonna try posting here.
so starting in april, i started getting low grade fevers. i usually run low (think low 97s), so while a 99.5-100 isn't technically a "fever," i feel like crap if i'm over a 99.
i feel flushed and flu-y, achy and fatigued. i had a few random dizzy spells (but it's not frequent). it feels like the flu. it usually comes on in the afternoon and then recedes at night. i've noticed, lately, that it seems to be cyclical-- i'll be sickly for a few days or a week, and then be fine for a week or two.
(potentially of note: i have anxiety, and i have a feeling my doctors are probably brushing this off as psychogenetic. but i've had anxiety for as long as i can remember and have never had fevers or flu symptoms. i am medicated for my anxiety. and, the fevers don't always seem to correlate with stress-- i can have days where i'm enormously stressed but have no fever. so i'm like, 99% sure this isn't caused by anxiety.)
also of note: my dog was diagnosed and treated for anaplasma a few months ago. i never pulled a tick off of me, but we never pulled a tick off of her, either. she sleeps in my bed.
i've tested negative for covid and covid antibodies (although i have another antibody test scheduled to make sure i rule that out).
i had a tick lab run through my GP-- for lyme, babesia, anaplasma, and parasites. all came up normal. all the rest of my blood work is normal. i was not tested for Borrelia miyamotoi, which, when i read about it, seems like a possibility.
i'm feeling hopeless. i feel like i've been brushed off. doc referred me to a rheumatologist but i don't know if it's worth chasing. i'm allergic to doxy but i know there are other antibiotics that can work for tick diseases. should i just push to try a course of antibiotics? am i totally crazy? does this sound like a tick disease to anyone else, or does is sound similar to symptoms anyone else had? i'm so frustrated after six months of this.

But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.
