I ran into this the other day and thought maybe it was temporary, and it still may be, but today it's still showing me that error. I guess I'm just looking to let somebody know so they can look into it, or tell me that it's just not possible and to put the poster in /r/plexposters.

Also, would you have preferred if I had used a different way to handle this, like Email, Discord, or Twitter?

Box Office Week: In a bevy of weak releases Boo 2! A Madea Halloween is #1 with $21.6M. Meanwhile Geostorm bombs opening at #2 with $13.3M on a $120M budget, Only The Brave flops at #5 with $6M, The Snowman crashes at #8 with $3.4M, and Same Kind of Different as Me makes no impact at #12 with $2.5M.
Rank Title Domestic Gross (Weekend) Worldwide Gross (Cume) Week #
1 Tyler Perry's Boo 2! A Madea Halloween $21,650,000 $21,650,000 1
2 Geostorm $13,300,000 $62,900,000 1
3 Happy Death Day $9,375,000 $53,583,365 2
4 Blade Runner 2049 $7,155,000 $194,105,203 3
5 Only The Brave $6,010,000 $6,010,000 1

Notable Box Office Stories:

  • In a stunning upset Tyler Perry's Boo 2! A Madea Halloween somehow topped The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature for the most cumbersome movie title of 2017...oh and it was #1 at the box office this week with $21.6M. Last year's Madea Halloween opened at $28.5M so the while this film is actually the second worst opening for a Madea film it's right on track with the general openings for the franchise. The last film not only opened well but held well too, scoring an A on Cinemascore and ending its run over $75M. Similarly Boo 2 (seriously is that the shortened title? none of this makes sense) scored an A- on Cinemascore and will likely hold at least over $50M. With a built in brand and wisely casting YouTube and Instagram stars that appeal to a young audience plus budgets below $30M, this franchise should hold out for a while in the small niche it's built for itself.

  • Oh Geostorm I have been waiting for this moment for nine months. This weekend was a reckoning that's been in the making for three years as Geostorm finally hit theaters and opened at #2 to a shockingly bad $13.3M on a budget of $120M. To put that in perspective, IT made more on it's fourth weekend of release. Everything about Geostorm is a fucking disaster. I wonder if Geostorm is talked about at WB like the Spruce Goose or the Big Dig, a project that they just poured money into fixing and only made it inevitably worse. Shot in 2014 by director Dean Devlin (directorial debut of the producer of films like Independence Day, 2012, and White House Down) the film initially cost $85M and was set to be released on March 25, 2016, a day DC fans will note is the eventual release of BvS. So clearly this film was something WB had total faith in...until it test screened. The screenings were so bad they hired an entire new writer and a new director (Danny Cannon the director of Judge Dredd and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer) and spent $15M on reshoots and an additional $20M on new

Box Office Week: Boo! A Madea Halloween maintains at #1 with $16.6 mil as Inferno flops in its domestic premiere, coming in at #2 with $15 mil against no new releases. Overseas Dr. Strange performed very well opening to $86 mil.
Rank Title Domestic Gross (Weekend) Worldwide Gross (Cume) Week #
1 Boo! A Madea Halloween $16,675,000 $52,227,872 2
2 Inferno $15,000,000 $147,700,000 1
3 Jack Reacher: Never Go Back $9,550,000 $93,879,177 2
4 The Accountant $8,475,000 $81,957,172 3
5 Ouija: Origin of Evil $7,070,000 $43,738,625 2

Notable Box Office Stories:

  • Maybe it's just the utter failure of Inferno but Boo! A Madea Halloween continues to surprise, holding on to #1 with $16.6 mil. That means the film only dropped 41.5%, the best second weekend drop ever for a Madea film and only the second Madea film (A Madea Christmas) to drop below 50%, with most Madea films playing well to their target audiences in opening then dropping like a rock after. It certainly helps that the film has an A on Cinemascore and is benefitting from the time of year, but as mentioned having only one major release to contend with that doesn't do very well certainly helps. With much stronger competition coming next week it will be interesting to see if this was just a lucky strike or if Madea really is becoming a more universal brand than she was just a few years ago.

  • Inferno - Despite opening incredibly well and Tom Hanks charming the hell out of you on every possible TV show right now, it seems US audiences are quite done with Robert Langdon as the film opened at #2 to a terrible $15 mil. Now of course here comes the qualifiers. Obviously to start this domestic release comes two weeks into a fantastic international release which has so far earned $132.7 mil. Secondly the film cost significantly less than the other two Langdon films ($75 mil compared to $150 mil). However that probably isn't conciliation for Sony who not only were hoping for the $45- $65 mil ballpark opening of the last two films, but have had a really rough year in terms of blockbusters. While the budget and release clearly show they couched their bets it's a definite disappointment especially with the seemingly renewed interest in Tom Hanks after the runaway success of Sully. And while the film has indeed done well overseas, the release of Doctor Strange has already taken away a ton of screens as shown by the 55% drops in its two biggest markets this week, Russia and the UK. As for what caused such a disasterous opening there could be many factors. The extremely negative reviews certainly don't help and neither does the fan

Box Office Week: Boo! A Madea Halloween edges into #1 with $27.6 mil, just over the underperforming Jack Reacher: Never go Back with $23 mil at #2. Ouija: Origin of Evil couldn't transfer buzz into dollars as it opens at #3 with $14 mil, and Keeping Up with the Jonses bombs at #7 with $5.6 mil.
Rank Title Domestic Gross (Weekend) Worldwide Gross (Cume) Week #
1 Boo! A Madea Halloween $27,600,000 $27,600,000 1
2 Jack Reacher: Never Go Back $23,000,000 $54,000,000 2
3 Ouija: Origin of Evil $14,060,000 $21,960,000 2
4 The Accountant $14,025,000 $58,120,381 2
5 The Girl on the Train $7,270,000 $104,002,330 3

Notable Box Office Stories:

  • While it's been 4 years since Tyler Perry last brought the Madea character to the big screen, he still clearly has a hold on his audience as Boo! A Madea Halloween opened to an excellent $27.6 mil at #1. While this doesn't match the $41 mil opening of Madea Goes to Jail it is the biggest opening for a Perry film since that 2009 film and impressive return. While not a critical darling, Boo! scored a fantastic A on Cinemascore so this could have good legs, particularly with little competition for black and comedic markets out right now. It's hard to say whether a much needed absence from the Perry directorial brand or just good timing for a horror parody, but clearly Boo! shows Madea still has a major brand power a decade after her first theatrical release. Interesting side note, Boo! started as a joke in the film Top Five. Boo! earned more than the entire run of Top Five this weekend.

  • As we approach perhaps the last of Cruise's late era superstar run, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back's opening at #2 with $23 mil feels like a future to come where we compare him more along action stars like Liam Neeson than Dwayne Johnson. The second in the $60 mil budgeted actioners, Never Go Back certainly opened better than the first entry ($23 mil vs $15.2 mil) but that film opened in late December where low openings and longtails are the name of the game. Here it doesn't feel like a victory, as audience was lost to a good drop for Accountant (43%) and a general disinterest in Cruise in this role. Still Cruise seems to have sway in the international market where Never Go Back earned $31 mil. This film will have to struggle to get past $150 mil worldwide, particularly with bad reviews and a mediocre B on Cinemascore but with a lower budget it probably won't matter. It's more a question of if Cruise himself thinks he can turn this franchise into a late career mainstay outside of the now event driven Mission Impossible films or if this is another two film failed franchise.

  • If there's a better proof that critics do
