Today the first major appointments by the Biden administration are being reported, with more formal announcements following tomorrow. Considering that Biden's rule will most likely be an elaborated four year version of Weekend at Bernie's, these picks might matter quite a bit when it comes to policy and the direction the new administration will take.
As per The Guardian:
- Antony Blinken, a former deputy secretary of state, will be nominated to serve as secretary of state, as previously reported. Be prepared for four years of unimaginative A. Blinken puns and arguments as to why the Iraq War actually wasn't that big of a deal when you think about it.
- Alejandro Mayorkas, a former deputy secretary of the the department of homeland security, will be nominated to serve as DHS secretary. If confirmed, Mayorkas will be the first Latino and immigrant to serve as DHS secretary. A gusano, but even worse and rarer in American politics, a lawyer.
- Linda Thomas-Greenfield, a former US ambassador, will be nominated as ambassador to the UN. In other words, Biden telling women to stay in their lane. Problematic.
- John Kerry, the former secretary of state, will serve as a special presidential envoy for climate and will sit on the national security council. Negotiator of incredibly effective climate accords and loser of both the 2004 presidential election and the 2009 effort to pass a climate bill in a Democrat-led Senate. He knows how to gets things done.
- Avril Haines, a former deputy CIA director, will be nominated to serve as the director of national intelligence. If confirmed, she will be the first woman to lead the US intelligence community. The personification of the 'more *clap* female *clap* war *clap* criminals' meme
- Jake Sullivan, a longtime Biden adviser, will serve as national security adviser. Apparently one of the few people in Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign who considered that *maybe* completely neglecting the Midwest wasn't a very sound strategy.
- Janet Yellen, a former Federal Reserve chairwoman, will be nominated to lead the treasury department. She already obtained the much-coveted endorsement from Trump's former chief economic advisor and former Goldman Sach's president Gary Cohn, as well as the co-founder of the *Progressive* Change Campaign Committee. I love the smell of bipartisanship in the morning.

Jetzt der Grund, warum ich diesen Post verfasst habe: Bei meinem Heimweg von der Arbeit gibt eine Kreuzung mit einer Vorrangstraße mit Verlauf nach links. Aber auch wenn man auf der Vorrangstraße unterwegs ist und dem Verlauf der Vorrangstraße folgen will, muss man trotzdem nach links blinken, weil es immernoch eine Kreuzung ist. Fast täglich sehe ich aber "Profis" am Steuer, die nicht blinken, wenn sie nach links abbiegen aber nach rechts blinken, wenn sie geradeaus fahren. Da frage ich mich manchmal, ob diese Leute nach dieser Logik wohl nach links blinken, wenn sie nach rechts fahren wollen. Von links, rechts oder von vorne kommende Fahrzeuge kennen sich ja gar nicht mehr aus, wenn ihr nicht blinkt aber trotzdem abbiegt oder wenn ihr blinkt aber geradeaus weiterfährt. Denkt auch an andere Verkehrsteilnehmer und blinkt rechtzeitig und auch richtig, damit alle wissen, was ihr vorhabt.

If you were Hamas, and you wanted your most sensitive intelligence stored in the safest and most punishing location for Israel to strike as possible, and having already shown that you are fully capable of doing so in UN insitutions and so on, why wouldn't you put them in a few floors where high value foreign press offices are also present at?

Al Jazeera and AP journalists and freelancers in Gaza are by and large local Gazans, Arab sympathizers and maybe one or two European sympathizers. As far as their narrative goes, because that is Reddit's narrative too, Israel is conducting a genocide on their children and Palestinian sympathizers maintain that all forms of resistance should be utilized to stop Israel. So why would they not collaborate with Hamas in their fight against Israel? By the Palestinian's and liberals own logic, they should not 'let children die' just to say they kept neutrality if they can be used to 'resist'.
