A list of puns related to "Bits Hyderabad"
Can someone please share whatsapp or telegram groups or discord server links to talk to more people? I'm new to hyd campus
My Qualifications (my_qualifications):
BITS:
IIT:
Observations:
I think I can take a loan and afford bits but does the brand value of IIT Hyderabad outweigh that of bits Hyderabad?
And also which one would be more helpful if I want to attempt cat exam after BTech?
I have read a lot of people suggest even BITS Hyderabad over some IITS like BHU, Hyderabad for the equivalent branch. But why is getting an IIT way more difficult than getting the same in BITS?
I mean how can an exam which I prepared specifically for just a week award me a better college (according to general opinion as far as I have seen) which I have put months into (I know the syllabus is same so time put in for JEE prep. also counts in BITSAT prep. but that is why I have said months, I have put in the last 5 months specifically for Advanced most of which was of no use for BITSAT). It would like Brazil choosing to win an Olympic Gold (Football) over being Copa America Champions when they put 10x the efforts for the latter.
Reservation could have been one such point but I myself belong to OBC and still I believe getting an IIT is going to be tougher.
Fees is definitely one factor but everyone just asks to not base your judgement on it but I can definitely see how it could be the thing but still most people ignore it or don't give it that much emphasis to not choose BITS due to it. I visited r/BITSPilani and half of the posts were about the high fees and unusual fee hikes but that's the aftermath and don't think this is what makes it easier to get into the college.
I have come to think that even though a lot of people posting their opinions online just blindly take BITS to be equally good as the IITs but there is definitely a little catch somewhere that people miss. BITS is not really that good cause I have never really seen anyone choose a BITS over any equivalent IIT, I mean the only bracket people choose BITS over IITs is when the choice is between something like BITS Goa CS and IIT Tirupati Electrical (Just an example).
Just to conclude, all of this what I have written is basically a shitpost but just that I wanted some verification validation of my decision to not choose BITS (Hyderabad/Goa) having not given JEE Advanced yet.
I got a pretty low score in Bitsat but looking at the statistics this year I might be able to scrape by the cutoff for a dual in bio or chem in Hyderabad campus. I've already been accepted to Thapar COE and am eligible for an upgrade to CSBS. What do you think I should do?
I have already taken admissio in VIT with cse category 2 at 3.4k rank. I gave bitsat 3 days ago and got 252 with which I think I have a decent chance of getting msc maths in bits hyderabad. Now, I would have taken bits any day but there are few factors to be considered:
Any advice would be helpful!
First of all, I thank you for giving some of your time to my concern.
my_qualifications: SAT = 1440 ; SAT Subjects = 2250; BITSAT = yet to write.
I have written the SAT examination and perceived admission into The University of Wisconsin at Madison in the Computer Science Major. I have also applied to Mahindra University (MEC) at Hyderabad, and I have got admitted into the CS major.
Comparing all factors, such as resources, degree, cost, etc, which university would be better, Mahindra or Wisconsin.
Many people have been saying that US universities are too expensive and not worth it. But others say that they are worth the fortune. I am really confused. So please help me out.
Also, the people at Mahindra Ecole Centrale claim that Mahindra's Academic expertise far exceeds BITS Hyderabad. Is this true?
In addition to that, is it easy to get into a master's at a top 15 university in the US after doing ug in Mahindra? What about bits?
To sum it up, I really want to know if UW-Madison is worth going to, if I should prefer it over Mahindra and bits hyd, if Mahindra is really better than bits hyd, and is getting into masters at US easy from mahindra and bits. Thank you again.
My parents really want me to go to Hyderabad but since Iβm interested in the finance sector, i would like to know if there are any major differences which would help me make a decision on setting my priority in counselling
I have no relatives or senior friends in Engineering so I have no idea what I am talking about. My friends basically just say Goa for reasons like partyzzz and higher cutoff, so I would highly need and appreciate your opinion.
My biggest concern is learning opportunities and internship opportunities (CS branch).
Hyderabad is definitely a better location for finding tech internships (am I wrong?) and Goa is in Zuarinagar which is a slum area from what I've heard.
Is it common to travel states for getting internships among students ? Also do colleges give students a leave semester for internships or is it done in parallel to college classes?
I read somewhere that GSoC is more popular in BITS Goa simply because of lack of internship opportunities and strict rules in leaving campus.
What other factors should I look for when choosing a college?
Please provide any opinions π I feel like this post will die out and I will be helpless.

Hi. So a cousin of mine is interested in joining BPHC and will probably qualify BITSAT to join the college. He will be joining CSE (obviously).
So, I wanted to know about the student life and campus of BPHC. Anything you may know of.
How are the lecturers/professors? Is there partiality? Is there discrimination based on caste ot religion?
How are students? Seniors? Ragging? Is there a drug or drinking culture which students are made to indulge in through peer pressure? Hostel life?
And anything else you may know of.
Thanks.
The video I was talking about is by Shekhar Gupta so am not totally convinced by the gloomy picture he's portrayed, although some of the facts he's given do sound troubling: the test positivity rate has gone up to 15% (highest in the country); fatality rate upward of 13% (also the highest, along with (Gujarat).
He has even gone on to criticize the state government.
Has life at all started to resemble anything like it was prior to the pandemic being declared. Are there some places which are to be avoided, certain areas of the city? How about the trains, the life-line of Mumbai as they say... any of you guys out and about in one of those?? I'm assuming social-distancing would be almost impossible in such a scenario.
What's the mood of the public, by the way?
I gave my jee and Bitsat exam this year and will be getting admission in computer science branch in both these colleges.
Currently I plan to pursue an MS in CS abroad afterwards as well.
Can someone give guidance as to what choice I should make?

Confused between IIIT Hyderabad CSD and BITS Pilani CS. What should I take?
