A list of puns related to "Billy Van Zandt"
Keep in mind that Silvio wasn't in the original show's plot but was instead added and expanded on when Van Zandt agreed to be in the show and let a more experienced actor play the lead role.
Do you think they would have created a Silvio-like character for Gandolfini or cast him as a different character in the show? Would Gandolfini have been left out entirely?
This is purely fun speculation and not debating that SVZ would've been a good Tony or not.
I generally agree that Silvio was a caricature/cartoon monster personality, but Iβll be dammed if Van Zandt didnβt pull off some quality acting when they had to whack Pussy.
His nervous energy, looking genuinely distressed, and a look of pain and focus in his eyes.
βDonβt yell at meβ was such a natural sounding response from someone in crisis like that too. Heβs supposed to be a big tough mobster, used to violence and doing what needs to be done. But when he has to do something he genuinely doesnβt want to do, killing a lifelong friend, he emotionally folded like a lawn chair and felt so relatable.
Van Zandt is what he is in this show of ours, but no one can take this scene away from him.
Maddone.
The portrayal of the younger Silvio was just... awkward. The accent seemed very forced and came off as more a parody than a recreation. The movements seemed rather flamboyant, also verging on parody. And the hair gag just seemed unnecessary - yeah we know he's rocking a piece, don't beat the issue to death.
If I were Van Zandt, I'd be upset at the diminishment of a character that I had worked to give depth and, well, character to for so long.
Yo, back at it after a minute, feel free to hit me up in chat or whatever with any questions or decent offers. Have more colored Fat, Epitaph and similar stuff coming soon

... keep reading on reddit β‘I feel like this is so obviously an inside joke aimed at Little Stevie but the way Tony could not give a shit about Steveβs music career just makes me laugh so hard. And sheβs grooving to the song and Tony is so apathetic. Just a small observation but so funny.
Silvio as portrayed by SVZ is one of the most memorable characters on the Sopranos. But c'mon Michael and Steve last night's episode 89 marks the 3rd time you've had SVZ on the show, and just 2 months since his last appearance with the difficult to follow "ya know, ya know, ya know, ya knows"
I've enjoyed the pod cast. It's obviously time to say "auld lang syne". Ya know?
He was f***ing stoned, right? I mean, I can't blame him. If I got a dollar every time he said "ya knooow" I would never have to go back to work.
And why did they end the interview so abruptly? Imperioli probably just wants to get it over with at this point.
For sale is TVZ's first 5 titles released on Poppy.

These records have been played and are not brand new. Aside from Delta Momma, these records show some scuffs/marks... but play through with NO skips on my system. Although there are sections with surface noise, I find these to be great players and enjoyable to listen to.
Please see link for pictures for visuals of jackets and vinyl.
Free shipping via Media Mail is included. $5 for USPS Priority.
