Most unbreakable NBA record: Bill Russell rebounds in Finals

I was looking through various playoff leaders lists and Russell has 1718 rebounds. To match that you would have to get to 10 finals, with all but 1 going to game 7 and average 25 rebounds per game. This may be the most unbreakable record in sports.

D’Angelo Russell might just be the most valuable NBA player ever in terms of what he did for his last two teams.

The first time DLo died it was the first chess piece in Maginka clearing space to land Lebron and another superstar and now look where we are. Lebron + AD + potentially Kawhii in LA.

The second death of Sir Ice in his Veins came after he brought the Brooklyn Nets to the playoffs putting the free agent market on notice and making Brooklyn a nice destination, the young core he was apart of also helped this case. And for his troubles he once again became the ultimate sacrifice for Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving and the seed of eternal hate from the Knicks, for had he and Brooklyn not had this breakout season there might be a dynamic duo on the other side of New York.

Blessing to you young Russell, now go and get paid young bull. You’ve earned it for all your charity work.

This will be LeBron’s 10th NBA Finals, tying Kareem for 3rd most all time. Only Bill Russell (12) & Sam Jones (11) of the Celtics’ 60s dynasty have been to more.

That's the Tweet.

It's crazy how LeBron keeps playing at a high level in year 17, and it doesn't look like he slows down. I'm sure he has 2 or 3 years left playing at this level at best, but if there is one thing i've learned, it's that we should never doubt LeBron.

NBA players Kuzma and Alex Caruso have been more valuable to the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James than Russell Westbrook.

While Westbrook is a former season MVP with hall of fame-level stats, former Los Angeles Lakers players like Kuzma and Caruso, often ridiculed by fans, have one thing he doesn’t and probably will not have: a championship ring.

Not every team needs to assemble former MVPs for them to win a ring. The Lakers with LeBron did it once and he’s the only MVP winner they had at that time.

There’s a reason Westbrook has been traded multiple times, despite his stats. He’s not an asset the Lakers need right now. He’s a liability and the trade that brought him to LA is costing the Lakers this season big time.

In the latest Bill Simmons podcast, he calls Luka Doncic the most accomplished 22-year-old player of all time. LeBron James made the NBA Finals at age 22.

he says "The Clippers willingly chose to go against Luka who is the best 22 year old basketball player of all time. He is, I'm just gonna say it, maybe Magic, but Luka is certainly the most accomplished"

I like Luka, but people just have short term memory man.

In the "2015 NBA Trade Value", Bill Simmons ranked NBA’s top 60 most valuable assets; 5 players from the top 10 are playing on a different team, 4 of them were traded

The article: http://grantland.com/features/2015-nba-trade-value-part-3-the-final-countdown/

In the article they are in the GROUP B: β€œThe Untouchables”

  1. Kyrie Irving - traded to the Celtics

  2. Boogie Cousins - traded to the Pelicans

  3. Blake Griffin - traded to the Pistons

  4. Chris Paul - traded to the Rockets

  5. Kevin Durant - signed with the Warriors as a FA

Players from top 5 are playing on the same team:

  1. Russell Westbrook

  2. James Harden

  3. Stephen Curry

  4. LeBron James

  5. Anthony Davis

It's interesting how 3 years ago this 10 players were considered untradable, yet 4 of them were trade

If every award was named after a player, (Bill Russell Finals MVP Award), who would each award be named after?

In my opinion:

MVP: Michael Jordan

DPOY: Bill Russell or Hakeem

6MOTY: Kevin McHale

Scoring Title: Wilt Chamberlain

MIP: Really tough one. It would have to have been a player that improved year after year, or maybe wasn't projected as much but ended up being a very good to great player.

ROTY: Magic Johnson

All-Star Game MVP: Kobe Bryant (once he retires)

COTY: Red Auerbach
