A list of puns related to "Big Gold Belt"
Personally, my favorite championship belt ever.
Really miss seeing the βBig Goldβ World Heavyweight Championship in WWE. Though today it might be an idea that WWE could bring back the belt as a βLegendsβ Championship, which is exclusively fought for between WWE Legends who canβt commit to full time contracts any more. Obviously could give some stakes to some legends matches weβve seen and help develop a narrative, and also could give a fresh approach to a legends roster without just detracting from the main roster. Might be nicer to see Goldberg going for that each year rather than a random UC challenge. Thoughts?
Notes
- This was the famous Cena/Lesnar "Squash Match"
- By this time The World Heavyweight Championship had been unified w/ the WWE Championship, so both titles together were called the "WWE World Heavyweight Championship".
- I was in attendance, WWE held Summerslam at Staples 6 times in a row, i'm glad other places get to host but it was a nice little tradition at the time.
- Although Brock was never the linear "World Heavyweight Champion", this was the only time to my recollection he would hold the physical belt it once represented".
- The Championship would be redesigned the next night to the current iteration to coincide w/ the redesign of the current WWE logo.
sidenote: Lots of Seth Rollins, AJ Lee, Bray Wyatt cosplayers at Staples Center that night lol.

So, I've been familiar with the debate on who actually possesses the original, hand engraved Crumrine Big Gold Belt for quite a few years, and honestly, I assumed that Scott Steiner probably did swap them and kept it for himself, like most others have concluded. But after some digging and reading of a bunch of archived reddit posts, old blog posts and tweets, I found referenced a few places that @ TheBigGoldBelt on twitter (I believe this is the author of the book "Big Gold"; Dick Bourne, but his name isn't stated in the bio, just that that's his book) was the one consistently posting legitimate photos of the real deal, with the bent top and immaculate detail far surpassing any Millican replica. So I decided to just straight up ask him.
I did see another person ask the same question about a year ago and he got the same answer, but only a single like by Mr. TheBigGoldBelt was present, so I assume that this idea hasn't really picked up any steam yet. But when I asked them, I brought up that I had seen photos referenced as legit and just shot with the question, to which they confirmed their legitimacy and also that actually, Conrad Thompson is the bearer of the original Crumrine BGB. Now I've tried finding proof and what not, but it appears that he's never touched on this and I can't find any evidence to the contrary, so I thought I would present it here and let reddit do it's thing in either proving it fact or proving it wrong.
Maybe Conrad might have something to say? I mean, would there be any legal issues with it's ownership anymore? I don't doubt it, and could see WWE going after what they claim should be "rightfully theirs", but it's been 20 years now so maybe we can actually clear this up somehow? I got pretty excited hearing that it isn't just sitting in Steiner's closet, but I am still, for obvious reasons a bit skeptical.
What do you think about this?
Edit: Conrad & Schiavone discussed his ownership of it very, very recently. Like the YouTube clip was uploaded just yesterday and I just so happened to miss it. So I guess the news isn't so ground breaking at all.
Hi guys, Iβve just come across this subreddit and itβs got me thinking. I won a competition in a UK POW (power of wrestling) magazine about 10-15 years and got my hands on the big gold belt made by Reggie Parks. The magazine stated it was worth about two thousand pounds back then. Itβs been sat in my store cupboard for years, collecting dust. How much do you think that would be worth nowadays? (If anything at all haha).
Terrible joke. Only 3 stars.
Welcome to Whose Line Is It Wednesday! Where everything's made up and the karma points matter! We dedicate this thread to the Big Gold Belt. Today we celebrate the life of the Big Gold Belt. Good night sweet prince, we hardly knew ye.
The rules:
-Keep skits in the form of a statement, not a question.
-Any skits longer than two lines should be in quotations.
-If you add any additional commentary, put the skit in quotations. If you don't understand the concept, a skit looks like this: "Big Gold Belt's plans for retirement"
My wifeβs birthday is coming up at the end of January. She has been wanting a black belt with gold hardware but I canβt seem to find anything like it. I hope this is the right subreddit to ask. Thank you for taking the time to help me out.
Edit: my budget is around $80-$150ish (thank you bot)
