To be bluntly honest, I think none of the main group would really work well as one.
- Undyne would just tell you to punch whatever it is that makes you upset.
- Papyrus wouldn’t really understand it all that well and just give you a hug (which I guess works somewhat).
- Alphys is the one who probs needs therapy
- I’d like to say Toriel, but she’s probs got to get herself taken care of with Y’know the dead kids.
- Same with Asgore
- Sans would probably be too lazy to give any advice. But I guess that’s okay. Sometimes people just need someone to vent to, to just listen and not say anything.
I guess, depending your headcannon take, maybe Gaster. He is a doctor.
Undertale is my all time favorite game and the Fandom is ok but it can be awesome at sometimes
If youer asking why I like the game so much it's the characters I LOVE THE CHARACTERS the characters grow and it feels bad to kill them like in some other games you don't feel killing everyone but in this game it so much different
Tell me your favorite part of Undertale
I'll tell you the truth, I'm not a big fan of the character but, there's no denying that she is one of the best characters in undertale without a doubt, all her determination and her will to fight at all costs to protect all monsters for the purpose that she believes, that she must do so that asgore is proud of her, this is honestly incredible, in the genocidal route mainly, she showing all her strength to try to beat that "being", even if she has to die for it, she will try to do her best to ensure everyone's safety, and even when she is about to die she still persists so that you don't hurt any more monsters, when she says the phrase "Right now, everyone in the world... I can feel their hearts beating as one" making her even more willing to fight for everyone who died and everyone she can still protect and that she still has hope of getting a better world, apart from the music that plays in the background that leaves things still most challenged prayers for the player and making the battle more tense because as the name of the song says "Battle Against A True Hero", which is where undyne shows not only all her strength but her will to defend a being she doesn't even recognize whatever but, who will still try his best to defeat this "being", the music is extremely good and perfectly matches the battle as if the music is saying "She won't give up until she sees you die and give up on continue because her determination is stronger than that and it won't be some "being" that will stop me from fighting", what I'm trying to say with this text is that all of Undyne's willpower and determination is admirable, without doubt one of the best characters in undertale, sorry for the long text but it's just that there's no way to sum it up in one sentence
I'm ready to go down the rabbit hole
Much like the game itself, it's severely overrated. Seriously, on one website it's rated within the top 600 albums of all-time. My biggest problem with this praise is that, pretty much, the whole OST has no real instruments. I'm sorry to offend any aspiring musicians who can only strict themselves to DAW (I am too but I use at least one real instrument,) but it's a shame that this soundtrack is rated above most other scores -- you know, ones which are actually composed with real instruments. It's very hard to perform and translate notes from a sheet to song, but Toby had no trouble just transcribing the piano stuff to a DAW and "playing" those notes with simulated instruments.
I mean, the main centrepiece of this soundtrack is a piece Toby composed when he was 16 (Megalovania,) and the composition of that song shows the young musician's experience (also, apologies to teens reading this.) While catchy, this simplistic level of composition should never be considered among the greats.
Most of the songs are repetitive too. They superfluously use leitmotifs and samey melodies (check out the vids about how most of the tracks secretly have the same structure.)
And there are albums completely made in DAW that can be amazing. Listen to Burial's Untrue, (which is also 100x a better piece of music in my opinion). However, the reason Burial used a DAW for this album is that the bulk of the songs consist of samples, otherworldly-sounding drum parts, and synthesisers. These are the sorta sounds only achieved through DAWs, or at least instruments (like the synthesiser) that don't require the skill of performance on the level of string-based instruments.
And yeah, Burial is an EDM artist and wasn't making orchestral tracks like Toby was. As a result the orchestral elements in Undertale come off as a bit flat because they're just emulated instruments with fake timbre (and yeah one track has a real guitar in it and one with a real piano but that's it.)
But this is a very rare example of a highly acclaimed album being totally made in DAW. The software is amazing and can make great music, but you should ideally be able to mix in one real instrument or two in most tracks, or at least somewhat perform with a MIDI keyboard.
Title, but also try to keep in mind that this isn't always to their intention, its them being specifically given that power and forced to make one, But they can still make mistakes like flowey in inverted fate.
