On my mother's side I have some ancestors from Pennsylvania, and I keep running into brick walls. Is there any possible solution for any of these?
So my 3rd great grandfather, John Harter Wise Sr., was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on May 9, 1846 to Abraham Wise and Clara Harter. Abraham's life is pretty well documented, but I know next to nothing about Clara. I know she was born around 1824, and she died around 1854. That's it. The only record of her specifically is the 1850 Census. Abraham had remarried by 1860 to Lovina Boyer. Her birthplace is in dispute too- her son John always listed her birthplace as being in Germany, while in the 1850 Census it's Pennsylvania and some of his siblings listed her birthplace as Pennsylvania. Her parentage is unknown too.
His father, Abraham Wise, was born on September 14, 1822 in Hereford, Pennsylvania to Henry Weis and Catherine (unknown, but a bunch of online trees say Schell). His ancestry stops with his parents. I know he had siblings, Sarah (b. 1817), Rachel (b. 1825), and Leah (b. 1828), but nothing about them or their lives. I've found absolutely zero mention of his father outside of the christening records for these children. He probably died sometime after Leah was born. Catherine, however, shows up in the 1870 Census, still alive, living with Abraham. It says she was born in Pennsylvania, around 1783, and is widowed. With this info, I was able to find her grave, in the same cemetery Abraham is buried in, and it is inscribed that "Catharine S., wife of Henry Wise, born Dec 1. 1781, died Mar 17. 1874". That's all the information I have on them.
Are these brick walls just unbreakable (I've heard Pennsylvania research is hard), or are their possible solutions? Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated!
Anyone in Berks that could test if n41 is active on a tower near my house? I donβt have a 5g device yet and wasnβt going to get one unless SA n41 is working. They put up the antennas but I donβt know if theyβre turned on yet.
