4 August 1944: A tip from a Dutch informer leads the Gestapo to a sealed-off area in an Amsterdam warehouse, where they find and arrest the young Jewish diarist Anne Frank, her family, and four others. She will die in the spring of 1945 in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.

On April 15th bad things happened but good things happened as well. Insulin entered the mass market, the Bergen Belsen concentration camp was liberated and, the documents to end the revolutionary war where drafted. In all evil there is hope.

I visited Bergen-Belsen recently. During the war prisoners and Jews were transported to this concentration camp later turned death camp. In 1945 the US liberated a train containing roughly 2500 people headed for Bergen-Belsen. This sign is indeed very saddening.
