The Layoffs are now confirmed by the CEO Mike Mood of Kindly Beast. This is no longer speculation, but is instead stated to be fact. The reasons why were not given by the CEO, nor how many affected, or if they got severance pay.

I'd say wait and expect to see more information come out in the following days. I will no longer be updating this post with news.

To all the developers affected by this I'm sorry. It's a rough industry and i hate that a kind and seemingly friendly place ended up going like this for you. I can't wait to see what you do in the future and wish you all the best of luck.

Kindly Beast (Bendy and the Ink Machine) has laid off slightly less than 50 people from their studio. They have not been public as to why this happened or what caused it, but seem to have lost almost their entire studio in one day.

The first thing that caught peoples attention was the sudden changes to everyone's Twitter profiles to suddenly say “Former Kindly Beast” which caused a stir as it was happening to a lot of people. However we do actually have even more evidence than just that, so I will come back to those in a moment.

The website https://www.glassdoor.com/index.htm is a website allowing people to write reviews of companies they have worked for. It is made for people to help them find jobs based on previous work experience there and as such is not just a random place to go review the games they make or just somewhere to go troll and make fake posts. As of the 11th (the date of the firing) of October a few reviews have begun to show up stating that working at the kindly beast https://www.glassdoor.ca/Reviews/Kindly-Beast-Reviews-E2564512.htm and you can see those here. They mainly sight a lack of good upper management and directly call out Mike Mood by saying “The CEO Mike Mood openly besmirched employees work” “Job security was nonexistent as the CEO would constantly have mood swings in the office” “Work was discarded at the discretion of the Board and sometimes openly insulted by the CEO.” and a final sentence from one review ends with “*A lack of company direction was prevalent. The CEO did not show up to the office for the month of August and upon arrival in September, fired all the management staff and did not offer a new company strategy m

I have bendy and the ink machine on my ps4 and I'm still on chapter 4....im still stuck in the distracting the butcher gang thing

Listen I like BATIM for the atmosphere, the concept, and the environment and character designs. But the longer I sit and think about it, Bendy and the Ink Machine's story and the way it executes it is bad, with mediocre gameplay stacked onto it to further salt the wound. I won't even get into the fetch quests since that talk has been done to death, but the only puzzle I felt required any sort of challenge is the Music Puzzle in Chapter 2, where you had the opportunity of failure and starting over again. It builds stakes.

But with 80% of the other mechanics, its dry and boring. You go from point A to B and get a thing. This may sound like a generalization but think about it. What purpose does getting the cogs, thick ink, power cores, axing the cutouts, and getting the hearts do? Does it come back into the story later in some meaningful way? No. All you have been doing is wasting time.

[This video] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1vn-MriEyw) i feel almost perfectly sums up my thoughts on BATIM. That, and combined with the story behind whats going on being so vague that it becomes impossible to actually pick up on whats happening for the player.

Like the Amnesia example. In the beginning you have a concrete set of rules and exposition as to why the character is there, why he does stuff, and what are the things he's doing, and then it fills itself out from there. With BATIM you go in, you meet characters, and then they are killed off before they have any meaning. Sure, there's some hidden stuff to it, but realistically, the player has no idea what Ink Bendy IS and what the Ink Machine DOES.

And lets get into Ink Bendy btw. Let's face it, his designs neat, but at the end of the day he's a generic horror monster. He just exists to chase you and that's it. Which is really boring and dull for a cartoon monster. You'd think that a living 1930's cartoon character would function or do things in ways that would amount to more.

And that's one of the big things behind Bendy the developers horribly missed the mark on. You take cartoons, the embodiement of illogical lunacy, things that don't abide by our natural laws, and you water it down to something so simple that it can be stopped by a door. There's alot of elements you could pull from the medium and yet you do nothing with it. Just slap some piecut eyes on it and ship it out to Target and viola.

I was rewatching play throughs of BATIM and something hit me...if MatPat is correct and those with souls don't fade into the ink, then why does the Boris that accompanies Henry fade into the ink? Dreams Come To Life and Boris And The Dark Survival both confirm that Boris has a soul: Daniel "Buddy" Lewek. Now again, if Boris has a soul, he shouldn't fade into the ink. Unless there's a reason: once the ink host has consumed the soul and nothing remains, they become nothing but ink, which is why they fade away. Those who don't fade away are those who held onto their souls. Susie's version of Alice is a good example of this. You can quite clearly hear her voice break through Alice's. She is trying to keep control over her inky host, which is why she doesn't fade into the ink when she dies. TL;DR Those who still have their souls intact don't fade, those whose souls have been consumed by the ink do

Hello! This is my first Theroy so it must be bad probably... Anyways! I wanted to talk about why Bad Alice was so addicted to being " perfect " my guess is that Bad Alice thought that she wasn't perfect enough because she was replaced... So she tried her best to be as " pretty and wonderful " as Allision. Like when she said " she made me... " the " she " might be Alision. Sure Allision never made her do it but maybe she means it in a different way like " Allision made me do it by being better than me " which sure sounds dumb but sometimes people do that and blame it on somebody that didn't had any part in the fight. Also she said " I AM ALICE ANGLE! " and I think that shows her struggle for being THE ALICE ANGLE. Joey is also maybe a reason to it because in the elevator she talked about once a perfect girl that was loved by everyone no matter what JOEYS SAYS. Which might hint at her struggle to being perfect because other people think she isn't perfect enough.

So I was previously using the old UI, and it decided to switch on me ( I'm out of touch with the new interface so I don't know if it's out now or what). So anyways, I went in my library to try and find the 'news' section ( think that's what it's called), so I scrolled down acting like this was the old UI and several posts and screenshots for Bendy and the Ink Machine were shown. I didn't find the news page, but I did find that the achievements, my own screenshots, and my review were located right beside the spoilers. If anyone could be so kind as to tell me how to revert to the old UI or have some sort of fix to this issue that would be much appreciated. Screenshot of what I am talking about. CHAPTER 3: RISE AND FALL:

• Perfect Boris is a lot more expressive.

-If you turn off the music, he will stop fiddling and occasionally shoot you an angry smirk.

-If you give him soup, his neck will extend when he chugs it down in gulps.

-When he runs in to see the Dead Boris’s he will stop, look scared, and run back out of the room.

-If Ink Bendy or any of the other enemies approach nearby he will cartoonishly jump into the air with his tail stiffened out before cowering. (Ink Bendy will also not get into the elevator, as to not kill Boris)

• Alice Angels Song is noticeably different, being less peppy and more Betty Boop-ish. Like, it has that whiny inflection that should sound annoying but becomes more nurturing the more you pick up on it. Like a damsel.

• Likewise Malice herself still carries over the cartoonish traits to her design, making the deformed bits stand out more. She's still tall though, and her voice is the same. Her looking more toony further differences herself from Allison. While Malice looks like a cartoon turned human, Allison looks like a human turned cartoon. *

• The Butcher Gang share the same style as the other toons, as well as the fact that they are more rounded and somewhat basic, yet still hold all the details of the original. Despite being black and white, the modified parts like plungers, fishing rods, boxing arm, stitches, etc are sepia.

• Each cartoon has different glove designs, like Bendy having two holes, Alice having a circle, and Boris having lines with clawed tips. Likewise, The Butcher Gang have differences as well, despite not possessing markings. Charlie is a default glove, Barley’s fingers are short and pudgy, and Edgars fingers are pointed. *

• Every single dead Butcher Gang Member (besides the living Piper, Striker, and Fisher you encounter on their respective levels of K, P, and 11, 9, as well as the ones in Chapter 4 and 5) resemble there perfect cartoon counterparts. *

• In Malice Angels kill room, each victim has different forms of imperfections.

-3 Boris’s with heavier sketch lines

-1 Boris with a larger left eye and ear in a “struggling position”, implying rigor mortis

-1 Boris with a melted face (reference to “Borkis”)
