A list of puns related to "Beatrice Wood"
Hi guys! I found the following post on Facebook and I thought to bring it here because on Facebook it went unnoticed (it has only 16 'likes'). The original poster is Sherri Lynn Snider, one of the daughters of Diane Theresa Francis, a woman who vanished in thin air almost 20 years ago.
Update 1: Sherri is on Reddit and she is reading our comments, so if you have further questions you can talk directly to her. This is Sherri: u/ssnider0615
Update 2: Sherri's message (I'm pinning it here for more visibility):

Thank you all again so much for commenting and reaching out with words of wisdom, advice and love. My mother would not even believe how far Iβve come and how wide spread her name currently is. Iβm beside myself with all the appreciation for you Guys β€οΈ π₯Ί
This being said, let's move forward.
According to Charley Project, Sherri's Mom was last seen by her daughters in Melbournce, Florida sometime in June 2003. She was arrested for trespassing in Jacksonville, Florida on November 27, 2005, and was last seen when she was released the next day. This is the last indication of her whereabouts. At the time of her disappearance, she had a "high risk" lifestyle and was transient throughout southeast Florida.
She has never been heard from again, and her daughters hired a private investigators who was unable to locate her. A former boyfriend reported Francis missing in 2015. Few details are available in her case, but her determined daughter has spent years piecing together every clue she could find.
This is Sherri Lynn's original FB post (edit: I removed the link because it breaks the sub's rules) where she tells the whole story. Maybe these details can help someone remember something and come forward with the missing pieces of this puzzle. Or maybe they can inspire the sleuths to join Sherri Lynn in her search for answers.
This is Sherri Lynn's original post, copy/pasted:
My Mother; Diane Theresa Francis
{In this document; I try my best to relive and walk you through my mother's life as I saw it and how other loved ones of hers have seen it throughout the years. They have helped me fill in the huge gaps, but there are many missing pieces that I still don't know. Remember, I was only 4 years old when the issues with Child Protective Services in Florida started and only 9 years old the last time I physically laid eyes on my mother.

It's also possible that the Unknown is not the woods either, for the narrator at the beginning says that the Unknown is a place where long forgotten stories are revealed to those who travel through the woods. He doesn't say that the Unknown is the woods, he says that those who travels through the woods have those stories revealed in the Unknown. Thus I think that the Unknown is actually a metaphor to indicate Wirt and Greg's actual world. In fact the episode located in modern world is the one called "Into the Unknown" and the episode where they finally find the way back is "The Unknown". That's because what is Unknown to Wirt is the life he's too afraid to live.
The nature of the Woods is something not relevant to the story, in the same way it's not important to define what Wonderland is in Alice in Wonderland.
The Woods is not for hence the Purgatory, the Hell, a nonuclidean geometry... That's because what was important to the creator is what happens in the woods, and not what it is. The woods is just a place where to set the various plots.
And the Woods is not Dante's Inferno, there's no way that any of those characters fits in Dante's. And before you come in the comments arguing this statement I'd like to say that, yes, I've seen the show at least 20 times so far; and I am Italian, and I study Italian literature at the University; and I've passed the exam about Dante with the highest grade, so I know what I'm talking about.
But!
But I can confirm that OTGW is easily inspired on the Divine Comedy, but not in the way you think.
The Wood is inspired on the dark forest where Dante is lost at beginning of the story, alright? But now we have to focus on Dante a little bit.
In the Divine Comedy the forest is an allegory for "Sin". That's an oversimplified analysis actually but let's stay on that. Dante is lost in Sin as every man is: the forest represents the journey every Christian has to make through life temptations to finally get in Paradise through actions, the Active Life.
The alternative to the forest for Dante is a mountain lit from the sun, which represents the Contemplative Life. If the forest is the Active Life, the mountain is the allegory of the lifestyle that many priests had in medieval time. They spent their lives in isolation just praying and pondering God Grace.
Dante, too, would like to ponder that Gr

Wirt and Greg seemed to remember the same things, the froggo had the bell in his stomach at the hospital, all the characters were still there complete with a human Beatrice, but they were immediately rescued from the river with no time for a week or two in the woods. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
For my 2022 reading challenge I have decided to read 1-3 books from every country in the world. This past year I attempted to do the same but the lack of preparation meant I was bogged down finding and waiting for books. Below is my reading list I have compiled as several people have mentioned they were interest.
Facts
It contains 520ish books with two countries I still need to find something for. 40% are female, 55% are male, and 5% are by various authors. There is a mixture of fiction and non-fiction. It includes everything from memoirs, cookbooks, histories, anthologies, legends, folkstories, poetry, plays, fantasy, romance, chick-lit, and scifi. The bulk is literary fiction.
Methodology
I started with the books I owned that I haven't read or wish to reread. I then looked through my TBR list on goodreads and reassigned those. From there I looked up my favorite authors on https://www.literature-map.com/, and included other authors similar to my favorites. From there I googled each country for their top 1-2 most popular authors. I finished with suggestions from reddit (including the country threads on r/books) and the amazing https://ayearofreadingtheworld.com/thelist/ . Authors with unlisted titles are because I was not able to find a copy of any book by the author at my library or for purchase (<7$) secondhand. These will need to be ILL and Iβll be deciding on the exact title when I apply for the loan.
Updates
I will be updating reviews of the books, as I go, on a subreddit I made for this called r/worldwidebooks . People are welcome to join me in the challenge for all of them, parts, or just to laugh.

Ok, everyone, hear me out. I found a couple of posts on this, but I want everyoneβs honest feedback because it looks like those threads lead nowhere.
These are solely my ideas, thoughts, and connections between the two pieces of work.
In the first song of the album, we find Tyler is now SIR BAUDELAIRE which is our first connection to the book series. Second, we get a hint at The Reptile Room (the second book in the series) at the end of the song when DJ DRAMA tells us theyβve been taking Rolls Royceβs to see Alligators. Also, we know that under the guise of Stephano, Count Olaf carried alligator skin SUITCASES, which Tyler has been carrying around with him for a while now as a fashion piece.
In the second song, CORSO Tyler asks us to catch him at his other other other other crib. Since the Baudelaireβs are orphans that keep getting moved around, we can follow the theme that they have many homes, as does Tyler Baudelaire.
Coincidence? Probablyβ¦ but Iβll continue anyway.
In the third song, LEMONHEAD, we hear, βI don't lean but my house do Off the hill with the mean view (yeah) Nice house, if you look out You can see some eagles and a few yachts Got a roommate, he won't move out If you want smoke, he the cool auntβ we also know in the 3rd book of the series The Wide Window the orphans move in with their aunt Josephine (not their aunt, but thatβs what they call her) into a house that leans over a cliff overlooking Lake Lachrymose (where one might see a boat) We can also connect Lemony Snicket (the pseudonym the author of the series gives himself to insert himself in the storyline) with the title of the song LEMONHEAD.
Keep the idea of the boat in your head because it is a steady theme in the series and the album.
In the fifth song, LUMBERJACK, we hear, βYou always keep the picnic blankets in the back βCause you, you never know You never where the fuck you gonβ end up at.β (Which might be an allusion to the picnic the orphans have at Briny Beach in the first book and end up leaving their home to live with Count Olaf) but we also find that Tyler wants us to call him a Lumberjack because he, βwish a nigga wouldβ which is a play on the word wood. In the fourth book, The Miserable Mill, the orphans are now living at the Lucky Smells Lumbermill.
Maybe a weak connection, but Iβll take it.
In the fifth song, HOT WIND BLOWS, we hear more references to the boats and the luggage because Tyler is always on the move, just like the orphans.
The song WIL

Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?

Then the other muffin says "AHH, TALKING MUFFIN!!!"

Back in the 2010s, GRRM talked about his inspirations for ASOIAF:
"I read a lot of historical fiction, both the classic writers of historical fiction that I read many decades ago... and some of the more contemporary writers of historical fiction, like Bernard Cornwell, Sharon Kay Penman, and Philippa Gregory." [x]
While some of these influences have been discussed at length before, Philippa Gregory's influence over GRRM has not. For those that don't know, Philippa Gregory is a historical novelist whose most famous book is 2001's The Other Boleyn Girl. Most have taken GRRM's reference to Gregory to indicate GRRM was influenced by that book in writing ASOIAF, but I want to talk about one of Gregory's lesser-known works: Wideacre, which was first published in 1987.
I think there are a lot of similarities between Cersei's arc and that of Wideacre's main character, Beatrice Lacey. In this post, I will outline the similarities between these two characters and propose that GRRM was inspired by Beatrice when writing Cersei. I will also offer a couple of suggestions as to what this means for where Cersei's arc will go in the future. Hope you enjoy!
(also, thanks to u/natassia74 for discussing this with me!)
Wideacre spoilers ahead!
Wideacre**: The Plot**
Beatrice Lacey is the only daughter of the Squire of Wideacre, a country estate in eighteenth century England. She is very close to her father, and idolises him as an embodiment of the estate, the land, and her family itself. While Beatrice wants to be the Lady of Wideacre herself, she has a brother called Harry. When she is young, Beatrice is enraged by the sexist system that makes Harry the heir (lol) and her expendable, and becomes determined to supplant her brother, whatever the cost.
During her childhood, she meets a young "gypsy" boy called Ralph. By the time they are teenagers, their relationship turns sexual. Ralph eventually reveals that he has ambitions to one day rule Wideacre himself, and the two of them come up with a plan to rob Harry of his inheritance and marry each other, so Beatrice can become Lady of Wideacre. When Beatrice points out the plan is impossible because her father is still alive, Ralph suggests that he could kill the Squire the next day while the latter is out riding, and Beatrice tentati

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
