A list of puns related to "Banvit B.k."
Well this oneβs a doozy.
I work at a restaurant that is hosting one of those kitschy holiday pop ups. You know the ones. During the duration of this event, we are requiring either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID testβ¦Iβm sure you know where this is going.
I was managing last night and because of a call out, I was also hosting. I donβt mind doing this because people can be real dicks and Iβd rather be on the receiving end than one of my other staff.
Well a group of young ladies come in with a reservation. Great! βI just need to see your proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test and I can take you to your table!β Uh-oh. Now let me preface by saying that I am not a short lady. I'm about 6 foot without shoes on, and I had on some boots that have maybe an inch or so heel on them. This girl is maybe 5'3. She gets really close to me and tries to get in my face. Young Karen: "Well NOBODY TOLD US THAT WE NEEDED THAT. I made these reservations OVER A MONTH AGO AND NO ONE TOLD US." Me: "First of all, please back up. You will not talk to me like that or we will be having no further conversation. I'm happy to see a picture of your vaccine card or if you have a portal through your insurance-" Young Karen (interrupting): "NO WE DON'T HAVE ANY OF THAT! IT DOESN'T SAY ANYWHERE ON YOUR WEBSITE WE MADE THESE RESERVATIONS A MONTH AGO NO ONE TOLD US" Me: "I'm very sorry, but it does say on our website, and at the time of your reservation, which I can see you made through [reservation portal] there is a note that these items are required."
Young Karen then turns to her friends and says "LETS JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. (Turns to me) FUCK YOU, YOU LIBERAL BITCH!"
I tell her that I hope her night is as pleasant as she is, and then happily seat another party of 6 that had been very pleasant and patient.
We are practicing an abundance of caution at my restaurant which I'm thankful for. At least 7 other restaurants in my area have had to shut down temporarily because of staff contracting covid. While we have had some scares, I'm grateful that we are taking these extra precautions. I hope that all of y'all are staying safe and happy out there!
I saw a Misseed in Sunday School meme tonight that quotes Packer from a 1982 book called "That All May Be Edified". Reading the quote I knew I had to hunt that book down. Here is another excerpt from the same chapter Missed in Sunday School quoted from:
"Honoring Priesthood: The activity of your husband in the priesthood will be largely dependent upon you. We accord to you, sister, the power to make a leader of your husband, and a woman should know that with the poorest of raw material, with the most ordinary of men, she can build a leader, if she will.
You should know, sister, that your husband will likely be called into positions of leadership. Let us suppose that next year he is called into the bishopric of your ward. It is Wednesday night and you were going forty miles to another city to visit with your mother. Your sister whom you had not seen for several years was coming from out of town and the three of you were going to have a lovely evening together. Then the phone rings. It is the bishop on the phone. The president has called, there is a special bishopric's meeting tonight. Your husband comes home. "Are you ready to go?" he says. "I've changed my mind. I'm not going tonight. The bishop called and there is a special bishopric's meeting." You will see him put his hand down on the table with real emphasis and say in a solemn declaration, "Well, I'm not going to go." You say, "Oh, yes, honey. Yes, you are." You will smile and get his meal on the table, fuss around him a little bit, encourage him, and get him in the car and off to the meeting, and then you will go in the bedroom and cry. You should know that if you let that one tear slip down your cheek, or if you look just a little cross, or if you let your disappointment show, on many occasions when it may well show, you will incline him away from his duty and obligation to the priesthood toward you.β
After a three year fight, Cardi B has won her federalΒ libel case against YouTuber Tasha K . Tasha K wasΒ found liable on 3 separate counts, after claiming Cardi was aΒ prostitute, took drugs, and contracted STIs, among other things. Cardi was awarded awarded $1.25 million in damages, with the potential of that money growing. - ( https://www.complex.com/music/cardi-b-wins-libel-case-tasha-k )
I'm hearing that other celebrities that Tasha K has been talking about are thinking of being similar suits like Cardi after Cardi was so successful with her suit. Tasha K is lucky that Cardi just sued her and did not throw hands because the things that she posted about Cardi and her child were just vile. People have to remember you have the freedom to say whatever you but that doesn't mean that there are not consequences.
