A list of puns related to "Aylesbury Vale"
This is Part 3 of my list of UK Grand Designs builds in order of budget. See Part 1 here and Part 2 here. A few points:
House prices in the UK have more than tripled in the 22 years since Grand Designs premiered, hence 3 lists instead of 1.
The average final cost of builds in seasons 17-22 (not including the cost of the site) is around 677k. In seasons 1-8 it was around 355k; in 9-16 it was 617k.
Episode numbers and names vary, so Iβm sticking with the apparently accurate [Grand Designs List of Episodes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Grand_Designs_episodes#Series_2_(2001%E2%80%9302) at Wikipedia.
Episodes are organised by final cost of the build, not including the purchase price of the property.
Not all episodes are clear about budget and/or final cost. Where the budget/final cost is either not clearly stated in the episode or is simply speculation by Kevin, itβs followed by a question mark. If you see a dagger (β ) after the build cost, thereβs a note under the table explaining how I worked out the cost. If thereβs no dagger, ask me in the comments. I probably kept a note of it.
Where possible Iβve viewed the final 5 or 10 minutes of the βGrand Designs Revisitedβ eps to double-check the numbers. I havenβt watched full βRevisitedβ eps or included them as separate episodes in the lists.
If you think Iβve made any mistakes, missed an important detail or need to update anything, please let me know!

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
A couple of years back I bought FM20 and setup a very in-depth scenario on the editor. The UK leaves UEFA scenario. Part of this involved the UK forming it's own confederation and splitting the English league into 40 different county based leagues (what can I say, I had a lot of time on my hands). With me pumping the prize money up, this left a lot of non-league teams with a lil cash to splash and the results have been interesting in some ways.
For this post, I wanted to go through some of the interesting managerial changes that have taken place 6 and half years into this save (upto 1/1/2026). For clarification, for this particular save, I have not been playing myself, just simming to see what happens and enjoying.
Now for some reason both Bristol Rovers & Carlisle United made the mistake of appointing Tim Sherwood however Carlisle did make a better choice later on giving the job to Erik ten Hag in July 2024. Rafa Benitez ended up in international management but not before having a stint at Sheffield United. United's rivals Sheffield Wednesday, not to be outdone, got themselves their own fancy international manager in Vincenzo Montella, who has been in charge since July 2024. Other notable normal EFL team appointments have Gennero Gattuso leading Middlesbrough for a couple of years and Millwall currently being managed by Peter Bosz.
But those are all current league teams, and I said it was non-league sides splashing cash. When the game began a lot of the teams didn't have managers programmed in, so there was a bit of a free-for-all for the empty spaces. The lottery winners for this were Alan Pardew taking the Corby Town job for half a season, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink had a year at Gillingham Town (the Dorset team, not the Kent one) and there was 6 months at Axminster Town for Teddy Sheringham. Wroxham took a stab at Stuart Pearce but he left after a year and moved to Kirkley & Pakefield while Harry Kewell started the game at Aylesbury Vale Dynamos and in April 2020 moved to Staines Town where he has been ever since. Finally from this catergory Emma Hayes was given the Racing Club Warwick post when the game began but got the sack after a year and unfortunately hasn't been given a chance with anyone else since.
So how about some weird ones? Like the title says Leonardo Bonucci was announced as Brentwood Town manager in Dec 2025. Aitor Karanka made a splash at Leatherhead in 2024, but is now p

Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC

We told her she can lean on us for support. Although, we are going to have to change her driver's license, her height is going down by a foot. I don't want to go too far out on a limb here but it better not be a hack job.
Mathematical puns makes me number
Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.

Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
Two muffins are in an oven, one muffin looks at the other and says "is it just me, or is it hot in here?"
Then the other muffin says "AHH, TALKING MUFFIN!!!"
But let me give it a shot.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
