A list of puns related to "Autism Genetic Resource Exchange"
Obviously thereβs resources for adults out there and Iβm happy to have those, but I just wanted to vent for a second about how difficult it is to find it in the first place. It seems like when I google almost anything about autism, everything is aimed towards the parents. If I wanna look at symptoms, theyβre symptoms in children. If I wanna look for advice, itβs mostly advice for parents. I just donβt understand because to me itβs obvious that those autistic children will GROW INTO ADULTS AS WELL.
Autism doesn't mean I'm "broken" or "need to be fixed," just because it's a disorder doesn't mean it needs to be cured, you eugenic's-supporting cunts
My son had his Early Intervention evaluation today. The evaluator said she very highly suspected my son had Autism as he failed to do a lot of things, including enganging with her or the activity she was trying to get him to do. I know it's not a full diagnosis but considering how long she's been doing this and her own personal experience with it I am trying to do as much research as possible. I'm in shock and honestly I am mourning. I'm terrified and scared what this will mean for my son, his development, and our family. I would like to start now researching this before we sit down and talk about his goals and such. I want to be educated to know the different types of therapies that can help him. Any resources, reading, videos, personal experiences, anything would be helpful. Thank you.
Title. Over the past few years I've identified some lifelong traits that are common symptoms, and the online tests have not been helpful, mostly saying I'm right on the cusp. I'm 22, and I've heard it can be tough to be assessed for diagnosis if you're an adult.
Dr. Elise Robinson, Sc.D., discusses rare and common genetic risk factors for ASDs, and the association between those risk factors and ASD heterogeneity.
Hi! If anyone is in Michigan and is looking for autism resources, the Autism Alliance of Michigan helped me a lot! I called and left a message saying I was looking for somewhere that would test/diagnose an adult female (me). They reached back out a few times until I could finally answer the phone and then they directed me to a really good facility in my area that had experience with adults and could take my insurance. I would've never found them if it wasn't for the AAM. The guy that helped me was super nice and told me about other autism groups and events coming up too. Just wanted to share!
Thanks for the advice last week about whether I should progress with this. Just wondering if anybody has any they can recommend. Googling returns a bit of a mass of information, I'd prefer to figure it out myself without a GP as I'm not sure I want the diagnosis hanging around, I live a pretty normal happy life so it's just so I can understand myself better really. Cheers!
Arabic internet is super lacking in resources on autism and almost entirely dominated by autism parents on youtube and facebook. Can't do much for the "cause" alone lol but i'd love to at least volunteer to translate questionnaires and basic resources.
any leads or contact info is strongly appreciated.
Preferably a website, preferably at least semi-technical. Books are ok as well, just less helpful at the moment.
Human evolution, anything and everything.
Hello, my apologies if this doesnβt belong here, I read the rules and I think my request is ok:
Iβm an adult who is beginning to suspect they are on the spectrum. I have been looking for information and resources, in particular on testing/diagnosing. Most of the organizations and information I find is largely focused on diagnosing children, and I find myself at a loss as to sources of reliable information for my situation. Are there resources for people discovering later in life they are on the spectrum? Are there resources for people who are low-income looking for diagnosis? (Iβm in the Southeast US)
Any direction would be most appreciated.
Thank you.
How many of you have autistic parents or children? I read Autism is 80% reliant on hereditary genes.
As the research in genetics and autism spectrum progress, there has been talk among professionals of perhaps using genetics to identify ASD then provide necessary individual supports to help.
I have attached a webinar as one of the many new resources regarding Autism and its links to genetics.

How do you feel about a potential shift in genetic diagnosis for Autism in the future?
Title says it all, curious if there's anywhere I could go for legit help - anywhere that helps adults learn better communication skills, etc? Don't have healthcare atm unfortunately, because I haven't been able to get a good job. Thanks.
My(14f) cousin(9m) is more obviously autistic (he got diagnosed a while ago) and Iβm pretty sure I have it too.
I have seen that boys are more likely to get diagnosed than girls
There are very few resources out there for adult women on the spectrum. There are a lot of things that come to mind that I wish existed/were more common but I might have to say I most wish there were more spaces for community/connecting with other women on the spectrum, especially in person (post-pandemic).
What do you wish existed or was more common/easier to access?
I'm working on a little online game and wanted to be open with my audience that it was created by an autistic person, and wanted to link a good resource for anyone who wanted to learn more about autism and how to support autistic people. However I only newly got a diagnosis and have heard some bad things about the more prominent autism advocacy groups. What is a good resource you would recommend I give a platform to on my site?

Hi Reddit, I have been searching around but having a hard time finding what I described above. My dad is 75 and brilliant -- attorney, psychiatrist, and neurologist -- but has Asperger's that he has never really gotten help with, in large part because it didn't exist as a diagnosis when he was younger. He is great to talk with about politics and news, loves SciFi, nice guy: just is not the best at the typical give and take of conversations, retaining and recalling personal details about people, etc. It's just enough to keep him from developing many social or long term friendships.
I would love to find groups of similar people who he can talk with this stuff about and get to know. He is fit and takes great care of himself and would love to date more, he is just tired of things not tending to work out due to the above.
Looking for:
If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it!
I read in one of my genetics classes that autism is 90% genetic, which means that it has to be passed down somehow, yet I know plenty of neurotypical parents who have autistic children, some on the severe end of the spectrum. How does this come up seemingly out of nowhere?
Modern money, be it cryptocurrency or normal government issued notes has no real inherent value. The value comes from the real goods/assets you can purchase with it. Homes, cars, food, guns, gold, and everything else that exists in the physical world. Money is imaginary. A construction of the human mind. Money works because everyone agrees to exchange their goods and labor for this imaginary tool. In previous human societies, physical coins dominated the money system due to their inherent agreed upon physical value. Gold ,silver, or copper, these metals had value even if the coin itself belonged to a failed empire.
Financial collapse is coming. The great reset is openly talked about at the world's largest economic summits. Economists, bankers, and financial experts know that the financial system has been pushed beyond its limits. The financial system was on an unsustainable path before covid. After covid there is now no hope of ever returning to a sustainable financial future.
Everywhere you look is unsustainable financial disaster. Domestic equities held by the Bank of Japan (BoJ) reachedΒ $434 billionΒ in November 2020, the highest value ever recorded on its balance sheet. The BoJ began buying equity ETFs (exchange-traded funds) in 2010 to help stabilize its economy. The BoJ has now surpassed the countryβs Government Pension Investment Fund as the largest owner of Japanese stocks.
The United States Federal reserve printed around a 30% increase in total US dollars last year. The Federal reserve continues to hit new records on its balance sheet. The latest record was last week with over $8T purchased assets. $120B a month purchases continue with no clear end date. Nightly repos hit 750B, showing the money has nowhere to go and gets sent back to the Fed for safe keeping.
Europe is an absolute mess. Greece, Italy, and Spain all continue to death spiral financially. Germany works hard to provide the support, but it's a losing proposition long term. The European central bank balance sheet is rapidly approaching 8 trillion euros. Remember when Brexit would be so bad? Turns out covid made that seem like smooth sailing.
Tether, a cryptocurrency scam now has over $60B in stablecoins, supposedly redeemable for one US dollar each held by the organization. The New York attorney office investigated Tether and openly declared it was a scam / fraud. Still no end in sight as increases continue daily in Tether prints.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Iβm a very conceptual learner and i need a resource that reflects that. So is BnB better or Kaplan Vernon videos or the Sam Turco class room ones?
I think genetic as not only is it possible to tell if your offspring is autistic through your sperm but I know a number of parents who have autistic children. I know a family who 3 generations in a row was autistic. Autistic like behaviours could be developed due to biological causes (Like stimming or emotional meltdowns)
My mum told me that she was asked how many children she has when they got my little brother diagnosed with autism, and the doctor told her that there is a high chance since she has 8 children and 3 of them have autistic tendencies that all of her children could be on the spectrum.
Is that really how it works?
Hey all,
Looking at using some optimisation techniques for my PhD, currently most set on genetic algorithms. I have a pretty decent handle on setting up an optimisation problem. I was wondering if anyone has any good resources they could point me towards so I can play with some toy problems or learn how to actually impliment alogrithms. Struggling to find stuff that isn't lecture notes or the mathematics which I have studied already, looking more for the next step.
Thanks in advance everyone
Peace and love <3
My son is 3 and has been diagnosed. We were getting him therapy, but his therapist has changed workplaces and her new workplace doesn't accept our insurance. He is starting to regress, and all places we look have a wait list for therapy. Does anyone have good resources to help us teach him to handle his outbursts?
