When I was still in university I think in any given CS class beyond the two intro courses about 90% of students used Windows on their school computer and about 10% were either dual booting or using Linux exclusively.
I think most of my classmates had the mindset that Mac computers were overpriced and only purchased by people who didn't actually know how to use a computer. I also had professors who were not afraid to tell us how they hated MacOS and Mac computers for a variety of reasons, and on my first day of Java 1 freshman year I remember our professor told us that our time in university would be hell if we didn't have something that ran windows. Additionally I had several professors who really stressed that we should get familiar with Linux as it would help us later on.
However, when I got my first job out of college I was issued a work computer, I was given the option between a laptop with windows on it and a MacBook, and was told that about half of new hires pick the MacBook. Additionally, talking with other people I went to school with it seems like MacBooks are a pretty common choice for someone who writes code for a living, and as a side not it seems like no one actually uses a Linux desktop for work unless they're regularly dealing with Linux at work. Why is this?
They first make arooooo
I'm poor and on a tight budget, but I have about 10 boxes of Kraft mac and cheese in my cupboard. I've already tried using just butter/margarine and omitting milk and i've tried adding a couple slices of American cheese, and while both tips turned out good, I wanted to try some different "hacks". Sorry if this question has been asked 1000 times but I figured a refreshment wouldn't hurt anyone. Thanks for your help!
Turned out to be a bunch of nasty Rumours
I just received this email
This is an official confirmation that the change from Humble Trove to Vault, which requires a separate Windows-only app, will not support Linux or Mac downloads. So if thereβs anything in trove you may want to play in the future, download it now.
How Humble is still calling this βDRM freeβ is beyond me.

Lmfao why?
As part of a Humble Bundle subscription, you get access to their Trove collection of DRM-Free games to download as you please. I've received an e-mail from them stating that they will be removing all Linux and Mac versions of those games. I'm backing them up, and wanted people to know so they can make their own decisions.
A list of these games is available here:

Someone else made a post about it here:

In S9 E5 "Mac Day", Country Mac jumps from the bridge and walks out with a beer in hand, never fails to make me laugh. What are other small bits like this that you remember?
We married young and I use to make dinner. Mind you, my mom was a SAHM that would make simple stuff for dinner like Kraft Mac N Cheese, fried bolohna, tuna casserole, burritos, and Hamburger Helper on a regular basis. Vegetables came from a can and were warmed up in the microwave. So, I did the same in college and when I married.
My MIL make delicious meals from scratch. My MIL makes a mac and cheese with half a dozen different types of cheese. Thinking back now, I think my husband said something to his mom because she would invite us often over to dinner, but she taught me how to make elaborate dishes under the disguise of helping her. I really hate cooking anyway so I kept making simple dinners.
One day, my husband asks me to stop making mac and cheese from a box because he grew up spoiled by his mom's cooking. He would also hint about not liking my simple dinners. So I started ordering out a lot and eventually he took over cooking. I rarely cook since then.
It's been 12+ years since he took over cooking. He had made Kraft Mac n Cheese for dinner (and often as our daughter loves it). While eating, I had a flashback to his request from beginning of our marriage.
I don't know whether to laugh or be angry. I want to laugh because my husband had tried to get me to cook elaborate meals like his mom, but it backfired because I hated cooking so much that he ended up doing it. Then I am angry that I realize he cooks simple meals too and not the elaborate meals that he grew up with.
Edit: I absolutely hate canned vegetables and prefer fresh or frozen. I meant to say that my mom bought and served all vegetables from a can.. We get it frozen (love the steam bags!), buy it fresh, or come directly from my large garden that I maintain myself.
Edit2: Thanks for the different perspectives. I'm just going to laugh about my revelation.
Edit3: Not sure why some are assuming that I don't contribute? I use to do all the house cleaning, laundry, organization, and majority of the yard work with a full time job. I still did all that after giving birth while healing from a level 4 tear (that took 3 years to fully heal). I also did breast pumping (took 35 hours per week) and cloth diapers. I eventually had a mental breakdown that required hospitalization.
He now does his fair share around the house and with childcare. I realize now that I'm still kind of bitter and I didn't like to realize that my husband had me do everything for him in the beginning of our marriage.
... keep reading on reddit β‘It's useless though. It just keeps telling me to go my own way.
