>Baynes currently has a $7.35 million non-guaranteed million salary for the upcoming season, as noted on our Raptors salary page. That salary becomes fully guaranteed if heβs not waived by August 5, so keep an eye on Baynes being traded or waived by then.

Hit them with the yeet of the century. Slide Baynes some money under the table so he agrees ofc.
Baynes could not go to his medal ceremony due to his hospitalization.

>Aron Baynes' deal becomes fully guaranteed today. He won't be a Raptor next season, that much is clear. So, if they don't waive him by 5 PM ET it will indicate their intentions to use his contract for salary matching in a trade, likely later this week.

Not hating, he's still the MVP favorite imo. Just funny that Aron Baynes of all people, and the skinniest man in the NBA, shut him down immediately after saying how no one can stop him. Let's see if he can get revenge on Tuesday when they play again.

I wonder if Brad knew this was coming before signing Kanter?
Are you intrigued with bringing Baynes back on a vet minimum?
Last night in the third quarter of the Celtics-Raptors game, Celtics forward Jayson Tatum was bringing the ball up the floor after a missed basket by the Raptors (credit to u/FM). Up 3 points, Tatum crossed half court and saw Celtics big man Tristan Thompson setting a high screen on Tatum's defender - Raptors guard Kyle Lowry. Seeing a good chance to drive to the rim or get a favorable switch, Tatum pushed the ball past Lowry. This is where the play really begins:
The strategy proved unsuccessful. You can hear Baynes at the end of the play mutter that he commited a bludger and he called himself a bogan. However it begs the question - if Tatum hadn't taken this wide open dunk, would this strategy have worked? Was Tatum about to pass the ball to Raptors guard Norman Powell, and Baynes would've proven to be in perfect defensive positioning? We can't know for sure, but I'm interested to see if people think we will see this defensive strategy throughout the league more going forward.
