I found this article online and wanted to share with everyone ahead of tonight's game. Full credit to the author Collin Sherwin and a link to the full article can be found at the end.
This is just a summary but the point is that there have been 5 occasions where a rematch in the post season of college football had implications for the title. In all 5 instances the loser of the first game won the rematch in a bowl game.
1 - 1960 Sugar Bowl: No. 3 LSU vs. No. 2 Ole Miss
This game wasnโt 1 vs. 2 in a rematch for the national championship, but it certainly had plenty of title implications for the 1959 season. No. 1 LSU won the battle by scraping by with a 7-3 victory in Baton Rouge over Mississippi on December 31st, famously winning via Billy Cannonโs Halloween Run. Itโs a play that is etched in the history books forever, and one of the great moments in the history of the sport.
But the Rebels took care of business when it mattered, blowing out their then-arch rival 21-0 in the Sugar Bowl.
2 - 1966 Rose Bowl: UCLA vs. Michigan State
The Bruins traveled to Michigan State to open the 1965 season, with the Spartans claiming a 13-3 victory in East Lansing. But as is always possible when a Big Ten team plays a Pac-8 team (or an American Association of Western Universities team; the re-brand wasnโt until 1968), they could always meet again in the Rose Bowl
And having the second game in their home city was enough for the Bruins to flip the script. They denied Michigan State an outright national championship with a 14-12 win in the Rose Bowl, making undefeated Alabama the AP national champions.
3 -1976 Rose Bowl: Ohio State vs. UCLA
The Buckeyes with two-time Heisman winner Archie Griffin came into the LA Memorial Coliseum and scored a 41-20 victory over the Bruins on October 4th of this season. OSU was ranked No. 1 at the time, and seemed unstoppable as they earned a rematch with UCLA in the Grandaddy Of Them All.
Despite a 3-0 lead at halftime, the Buckeyes gave up 16 unanswered points in the third quarter to give Dick Vermeil and the UCLA Bruins an unexpected Rose Bowl win as a 15.5-point underdog.
4 - 1997 Sugar Bowl: Florida State vs. Florida
Steve Spurrier only won one national championship in his Hall of Fame career, and he had to get beat by Florida State that season. But the revenge was served ice cold by the Gators in New Orleans.
The No. 1 Gators headed to the No. 2 Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium for their traditional regular season final

Heisman winners also hold a winning record in CFP National Semi-Final games, with a 5-2 mark. During the BCS era, Heisman winners went 4-6 in National Championship Games.
Before the BCS, Heisman Trophy winners went 2-1 in the Bowl Alliance/Bowl Coalition National Championship Games. Before then, there were a few de facto national championship matches, the 1983 Sugar Bowl, the 1984 Orange Bowl and the 1987 Fiesta Bowl. In all three of those games, the Heisman Trophy winner's team fell short.
Of the 87 Heisman Trophy winners, 19 have also played for teams that won a national championship. One interesting detail, just one player, Paul Hornung, QB for Notre Dame, was on a team with a losing record. The Fighting Irish finished 2-8 in 1956.
Here are the Heisman Trophy winners over the years and how their teams finished the season:

Hey all you cool cats and kittens, it's me, Tailor! Heads up, I am phoning it the fuck in here. I'm celebrating accomplishing a goal I have been striving towards for over 10 years! So, tonight I'm getting... lit? Does getting cross-faded while live narrating a City Council Meeting on a Wednesday night alone count as a party? I say yes! Let me know what you think of that hot take in the comments. Be sure to like, comment and subscribe.
And it begins! Hello everyone.
Councilor Broadman used his Councilor superpowers to add this topic to the agenda. He's bringing it up because of outreach from the community. He wants to see if there is a data connection between STRs and housing affordability. If the council finds such a connection in Bend, they are interested in making changes. Councilor Broadman wants to make it clear that he is not putting forward a specific course of action. The council agrees to make aggregating data about local STRs a priority.
The councilors are talking about changing how they are approving homeless encampment management. Right now staff needs approval from council on a site by site basis when managing roadways (not encampment removal). They want to talk about giving staff a more general authority. Councilor Campbell wants to see the specific language staff is looking to change.
Staff liaison of HREC Anna, is giving an update on this new commission. HREC represents historically marginalized and underrepresented people in Bend. HREC is going to make action plans, and do community engagement. It's a new commission that was created in the pandemic. A focus of the commission is to increase equitable access to information. This is the city's first equity commission, and a major focus right now is trying to integrate the commission into the teams. Something about Storming and Norming. Storming is in italics. Councilor Perkins thinks that it is really difficult to integrate into the systems of the City of Bend. She is a liaison to the commission and looks forward to the work that they have ahead. Councilor Barb Campbell agrees with Councilor Perkins. She knows that forming a new comm

I'm looking for a person named John Ball who immigrated to Canada somewhere between 1850 - 1920, from Pennsylvania, US. does anyone have access to such immigration records ? i assume the list of John Balls should be short within that period of time.
Thank you so much for your time and effort
Ben
Update: Little is known about John Ball, he was a Canadian soldier during WW2, family tree suggests his ancestors came from England, to Pensylvannia(1780~ - 1906~) and into Canada. A second DNA test is on the way hoping to connect to more trees family members and triangulate the search
his tree so far: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/landscape/G81Y-JZY
Update: Closer DNA matches have been found 1st - 2th degree cousin males (McDougal), (McVie) 2nd - 3th degree cousins males (Nankivell) (Logan) (Fitzpatrick) (Hommers)
We've only been able to contact a female cousin of the 2nd - 3th degree, that luckily has a substantial tree to trace back, Turned out a Fitzpatrick is her GG-grandfather is a Thomas Fitzpatrick. She also told me the following;
>My grandmother was adopted as an older child and I was recently able to trace her biological family. I found out that she had a half brother by the name or Archie MacDougall who was born in Scotland and their mother's maiden name was Campbell (Jessie). Archie's father was killed in WW1 and near the end of the war she had married a Canadian (Joseph St. Julien) who was stationed there with the Canadian army. At the end of the war she came to Canada as a war bride with her son Archie and another child born to her and thatย sheย and Joseph in Scotland. After arriving in Canada she had a third son and my grandmother. At some point the marriage must have broken down as she had left my grandmother with a neighboringย Scottish family for some time. However, it seems that she later returned to Scotland with my grandmotherย and Archie for a two year period. It seems that the other two boys stayed in Canada with their father. However, at the end of that period she returned to Canada and it seems that the boys who were in Canada had died. At this point my grandmother was adopted by the previous family who looked after her but Jessie still continued to raise Archie and they all remained in Canada. Jessie also seems to have had two other daughters but I haven't been able to find out much about them.
However, I do know t

I used the top 969 players who have at least 10000 minutes played in their career.
Why 10000 minutes played? Because that's the lower standard set by Basketball-Reference to get on their ABA career leaderboard (15000 MP for NBA). I added George Mikan, because even though he hasn't played enough minutes, he's featured in All-Time ESPN NBARank and Bill Simmons Hall of Fame Pyramid.
