A list of puns related to "Arabella Name"
Okay so I posted yesterday with my baby girl name idea of βEuniceβ and you all let me know your honest opinions which mostly consisted of being against the name. Thank you for your honesty!
My main motivation for the name Eunice is that it was my grandmothers name. The other name I had been considering that I actually like more as a name itself is Arabella.
Thoughts on the name Arabella? Would Bella be her only possible nick name?
Just want to know peoples opinions out of curiosity and if I were to ever hypothetically have a kid, I would choose one of the bella variety names. Obviously there's an endless amount but just going over some of the most popular ones I can think of:
(Top being the best)
Where would you rank Arabella out of those and what would your list be like for all the bellas including Arabella? Thanks!
so my sister is expecting triplets; 2 boys 1 girl. we have already decided Josiah Reign and Alexander Grey for both boys however, we are stuck in between Ophelia and Arabella. also, we canβt find middle names for them as weβre trying to avoid the cliche βgraceβ βmarieβ. we really like Rae but rae is my middle name so itβs a little funky. any suggestions? also, is arabella or ophelia nicer?
Hi Namenerds! You guys helped me name my daughter, Arabella. Weβre starting to think of number 2 and Iβm struggling to find names that go with Arabella without being βtoo muchβ or being too plain in comparison (I recognize Arabella is very frilly!)
My current favourites are:
I LOVE Fitzwilliam but think itβs probably a bit much for a first name!
Thanks!
Hello!
I'm due in July and we will be naming our baby girl Arabella Sky.
I always thought it was a wee bit uncommon as a name, but out of curiosity my husband and I looked up its popularity where it said it was roughly 170ish (I cant remember the exact numbers now). I thought this was really high up there, so I compared it to my not totally uncommon name (Danielle) which was placed around 350.
Is Arabella really that common?
Also, if I need a sanity check and Arabella is a terrible name, please tell me now and not in july. :p
Iβm thinking about naming my future daughter Arabella, since it rings pretty nicely. It kinda has the mysterious mystic vibe to it which is cool but but idk.
Btw Iβm still 17 and probably wonβt have kids for a long time lol, am just wondering I know Iβm kinda weird like that ha2.
I am currently 24 weeks pregnant with my first child - my beautiful daughter is due on December 20th, 2020 π
My husband and I struggled with picking a name. To be completely honest we were both really hoping for a boy. My husband has a daughter and we really wanted to have the balance of a boy - I'm not particularly fond of all the girly girly, fairy princess, cutesy tootsie crap. My stepdaughter is VERY girly, and while I consider myself very feminine, I don't buy into the gender tropes that were thrust on her at a young age that she's completely absorbed. She's a wonderful girl, do not get me wrong. I'm just kinda "over" the whole "I'm a pretty princess look at me!" stuff, so I was really heartbroken when we found out at 10 weeks that we were having a girl.
I started watching this show when it aired on HBO, and like many of you, I was floored. Michaela Coel is stellar and it has sparked so many rich, meaningful conversations. THIS is what media is about. The name Arabella also stuck out to me. The nickname "Bella" stays true to its meaning - it's very beautiful. And this show has really encapsulated so many of the complicated feelings that I have about gender... My distaste for "girly" stuff is very complicated in itself, if I really examine it I think it's tied into feelings of self loathing and internalized misogyny. This show, and having a baby girl, are really forcing me to examine this part of myself. I have done more than come to terms with having a daughter instead of a son - I'm excited about it. I think about my life in 20 years, being able to watch my daughter experience her 20s, and live through some of the same emotions and experiences that I have... It's just a gift. Something I wouldn't necessarily be able to share with a son. I'm so grateful for my daughter, and to this show, for helping me get there. What better way to pay homage to I May Destroy You than by naming my daughter.... Arabella.

(Preface: Not a parent. Just a name nerd.) I have 69 favorite names for girls. Iβm looking for help on narrowing this list down to only the βbestβ names. Essentially, Iβm asking yβall to comment which names you believe are the Top Ten on my list. Names listed below. Thanks in advance!
Alice, Annabel, Annabeth, Annalise, Arabella, Aurora, Ava, Beatrice, Beth, Bethany, Blossom, Caroline, Cecilia, Christabel, Clara, Clarissa, Cora, Cordelia, Dahlia, Dana, Daphne, Delaney, Diana, Dorothy, Eleanor, Eliana, Elissa, Elisabeth, Eliza, Eloise, Emma, Erica, Flora, Florence, Frances, Gemma, Heather, Isabelle, Jane, Joanna, Julia, June, Laura, Lillian, Lisa, Louisa, Lucy, Lydia, Maeve, Margot, Mariah, Marianne, Marina, Matilda, Millie, Nellie, Phoebe, Rosalie, Samantha, Sarah, Sophia, Susannah, Sylvia, Tabitha, Veronica, Violet, Virginia, Vivienne, Winifred
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Please help with perception of these names that Iβve mostly only read in books/online, and choose your top 1 or 2 and your bottom 1 or 2 names from my list! The only thing I donβt care about is if the name is popular or not, it doesnβt bother me if the name is trending
In Canada for any reference, itβs a plus if it sounds good with an English and French accent
Edit - thank you SO much for everyoneβs responses! I really appreciate it
I posted on here a few weeks ago to help get ideas for my third girl! Everyone was very helpful and Iβve come up with a list of 10 first and middle names combos. My husband ideally wants a good meaning in a name. Our taste is feminine, elegant, pretty names for girls. So the names I picked have both sound and meaning in mind. I donβt want anything too popular but nothing obscure wither. We might go into the hospital with a few choices and see what suits her but 10 names is a lot as a short list so Iβm looking for public opinion. Sibset is also listed. My list, in no particular order:
Celina Rosalie D Milena, Lorelai & Celina
Katia Esme D Milena, Lorelai & Katia
Serena Felicity D Milena, Lorelai & Serena
Arabella Jolene D - honour Jocelyn Milena, Lorelai & Arabella
Avielle Calah D - honour Caleb, pronounced Cay-la Milena, Lorelai & Avielle
Calista Elise D Milena, Lorelai & Calista
Carina Amabel D Milena, Lorelai & Carina
Amalia Juliet D Milena, Lorelai & Amalia
Arielle Valentina D Milena, Lorelai & Arielle
Gabrielle Luisa D Milena, Lorelai & Gabrielle
You know the rules. There are 19 siblings (10 girls and 9 boys) and all names start with the same letter. So let's take a new level: you will have to name not only 19 children but also 20 grandchildren with the same initials as Duggars grandchildren to make this task easier i'll put them there.
Here is my variant:

Magdalene (Lena)

Do your worst!
We are struggling to fall in love with a girls name for baby #3. Here's my list of babes that I love but also seem to find a reason to not like it quite enough.
Lyra
Ivy - makes me think of soul calibur character
Autumn - my husband says Autumn Bottom
Ava - so overused, but love the simplicity
Evelina - is it too fancy and syllable heavy?
Evelyn - my favorite but I have an old friend whos daughter has that name. We don't talk much.
Maisie - too casual?
Elowen (Winnie?) (Ella) - too different?
Elodie - my mom hates it
Kate - I like it, my husband is reminded of someone else he doesn't like
Sophia - mom says it's pretentious sounding
Aubrey - too close to Addy (Adaline) my other daughter
Arabella - big veto from husband
Emilia - previous frontrunner until we decided it isn't right
Lily - our last name rhymes with Vanelly, too sing songy?
Rosalie - sweet name, husband thinks it's similar to rosely
Isabelle - too common, husband thinks it's too fancy for us
Hazel - I like it fine, nothing exciting
Josephine (Josie) - Josie Grossy? Will I think of Joseph every time?
Violet - makes me think of violent
Avery - husband hates it
Am I overthinking it or is there a magical perfect name out there I'm just not thinking of?
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
Because she wanted to see the task manager.
I love the names Evelyn, Josephina, Isabella, Arabella, and Emilia. All of these names are pretty common now, and I'd like to stay out of the top 10 names, thus keep getting vetoed by family. Any suggestions on classically beautiful, timeless girls names? I love names that start with vowels and also names that end with "Lynn" "line" and "belle." Open to suggestions!
Heard they've been doing some shady business.
Sorry for the delay, this elf is working over time at the North Pole. Here are the winners of my personalized Christmas card from an (me) the Elf working at Santa's Workshop:
Bonus winners! I could not help myself, I found more cards at my local store :)
If you won please check that I got your child's name spelling correct. Once you do that please message me with your name and address and let me know if you want the envelope made out to you (the parent) or the child. Thanks!! Merry Christmas everyone!! I look forward to seeing photos! :)
BamBOO!
Theyβre on standbi
but then I remembered it was ground this morning.
Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
Pilot on me!!
Christopher Walken
Nothing, he was gladiator.
Or would that be too forward thinking?
