A list of puns related to "Aqua Velva"

To make up for all of the new items I used last week, I thought I would compare some NEWs (pun intended) and use some vintage gear this week. With the exception of the razor blade and the Maggard brown synthetic knot, everything in this review is older than me β cool!
In my seemingly never-ending ride to find the ideal aggressive DE razor for me, I decided to stop in vintage land to try out a couple of NEW Deluxes. The Deluxes can be easily distinguished from other NEW models thanks to their smooth baseplate. Both of these razors measure 17mm across the baseplates, which is much more common than the 15mm variant. NEW Deluxes were expensive when they were released in the 1930s, and as a result they did not sell well, which is a likely cause of their scarcity even today. From what can I tell based on mr-razorβs website, these are the two razors that I have, though my 1930 model is made in Canada. One has chromium plating and a fixed baseplate design, while the other has gold plating and a typical three-piece design with a separable handle. Both razors seem to have hollow handles, and as a result the balance of the 1934 model feels quite head heavy, though it is nice to be able to change out the handle in this model as opposed to the other. The 1930 model is notably heavier (20g more) and feels more substantial in the hand.
In use, I found these razors to shave similarly. Some people find the 1930 Deluxes to shave rougher compared the βnewerβ 1934-1935 Deluxes, but itβs tough for me to notice anything like that unless I use the razors side-by-side, which I did today for the first time. Throughout the week I alternated days using each razor and each day felt comparable to the others. After using both today, I can say that they shave very similarly. They both achieved close shaves on each side of my face, and the smoothness is similar as well, with perhaps a slight edge to the 1930 model. Overall, these are both beautiful razors that represent an inte

Cheap synthetic musks hit the market in the late '60s and soon everybody and their grandma had a hastily concocted MUSK fragrance in their lineup to help their customers get laid (or so their marketing implied). Aqua Velva arrived a little late to the party in 1975, reaping the benefits of watching their competitors go first and learning from their mistakes. Being an aftershave company, Aqua Velva decided to add a bit of barbershop flair and split the middle ground between the overtly masculine Jovan Musk and the fresh-laundry-in-a-bottle Coty Musk - both of which also feature bright orange packaging.
Musk is the only classic Aqua Velva flanker from the '60s-'70s to survive to the present day (maybe - see next week's post for one potential caveat). It is unique among the current AV lineup being the only variant with zero menthol and more parfum than glycer

By golly, it felt amazing when I stroked my cheek. Like touching a statue or a corpse! A statue and a corpse with an excellent shave.
Happy autumn, shavers. Beware the pumpkin spice, embrace the menthol.
I'm in the United States and want a bottle of Original Sport. It's the green juice and it's only available in Canada. Does anyone know how I could order some online?
Here's a pic of what i'm talking about. https://fimgs.net/mdimg/perfume/375x500.44950.jpg
I like the smell and it's done a great job, but I am running out and think it might be a good chance to branch out. I like fragrant aftershave because I dont use any other scents except sandalwood in my shave cream. So i'm taking suggestions or ideas, and asking if anyone knows any good sample packs for aftershaves. All input wilkommen!
Its way better than cold showers
Just wondering if anybody on here knows of a Stirling soap that is great for pairing with Aqua Velva After Shave?
Seriously.
I love what Aqua Velva blue does for my face and I love the smell. The Downside is SWMBO hates the smell of the AS to the point where if I were to were it before bed I would have to sleep in another room. In light of this what is an AS with the nice skin effects of AV Blue but without the odour? Is there a scent free Aqua Velva I haven't seen? Is there something I could add to my Kiehls scent free astringent that would give me that nourished smooth feeling I get from Aqua Velva?
Hi guys
Like the title states, I'm looking for a Lime AS to replace my dwindling Aqua Velva Frost Lime that came with this pack: http://i.imgur.com/Ml1PA.jpg
Any suggestions are welcome, especially as considering I'm sure not a ton of people have used the AV. As long as it's not ridiculously expensive I'd be willing to try a few out even if you have no idea what the AV smells like and just enjoy your own Lime AS.
Whenever I shave my back I get bad razor burn. A little aqua velva and I'm usually all good.
If I just got my back waxed (30 min ago) should I throw some aqua velva on it?

1985: Olivier Creed takes credit for Pierre Bourdon's creation, launching "Green Irish Tweed" and charging through the nose for it. 1988: Pierre Bourdon takes his sweet revenge, reusing the GIT heart accord in his low-budget hit for Davidoff, "Cool Water." 1989: Hot on their trails, Quintessence celebrates the same heart accord again their discount-bin fragrance "Aspen," lowering the price point and increasing the availability of the scent even further. (Note that today Coty makes both perfumes.)

Product History
As I understand it, Aqua Velva aftershaves have existed since 1917, making it one of the oldest American aftershave brands. The first incarnation of the Ice Blue scent apparently hit the market in 1929 as a mouthwash before having the fragrance and formula redesigned as an aftershave in 1935. Many of its flankers have come and gone, but Ice Blue can still be found in almost every grocery store shaving section today. Aside from a slight tweak to the fragrance in 2010 (see below), the formula has apparently gone more or less unchanged for more than eight decades.

##Soothing Properties: 1/3
Applied properly (i.e. in moderation to a damp face), Ice Blue goes on pretty comfortably after a good shave with a good soap. A quick, mild sting and then some moderate cooling from the menthol - just enough to be cool for several minute

Product History
Original Sport is a Canada-only Aqua Velva flanker, though oddly it is currently manufactured in the USA. It's very difficult to find information about its history but I would guess it was released in the late '70s (based on a plethora of clues and inference that I dare not spell out for fear of spreading misinformation). If anybody here has solid evidence to help confidently nail down the year of introduction, please share it with us!
#SpongeScore Assessment
##Soothing Properties: 1/3
Original Sport has the same aftershave recipe as Ice Blue and performs exactly the same way: gentle cooling, no other significant soothing, and stings unpleasantly after a bad shave.
##Post-Application Face Feel: 1/3
As above, expect the same performance as you would get from Ice Blue: a super-clean face-feel, no significant skin smoothing, and no a

I don't like overly sweet/melony aquatics, but I love the sharp powdery blueness of Aqua Velva. Is there a longer lasting fragrance that captures this?
Thanks.
I've been using Aqua Velva for a number of years (even before I started using a DE) and am very happy with it. Are there any other aftershaves you like that have a similar sensation/aroma to Aqua Velva? I know some people are down on aftershaves that have alcohol in them, but I like it because it keeps my skin clear and it feels nice.
