I just noticed the Alpha omicron pi house is now SAE. What happened to them? I'm pretty sure they only came to campus my sophomore year so I'm surprised to see them gone so soon.
FYI: One of Kathleen's βsistersβ cried to me, saying she wanted to vote RU and support RU but was being forced to publicly support SF.
She was told if she didnβt support SF her university experience would suffer- by the hands of her sisters who would turn on her if she dared to support anyone other than SF.
Can we PLEASE shut her and her slate out, and all message 10-20 friends. We need to get the word out ASAP.

Accepted my bid to AOII yesterday and Iβm so excited!! Going through this process I was waiting until Iβd be able to post to this subreddit.
*Also did this process as a junior so any tips for making the most of the shorter amount of time I have?
i have a few secrets to tell... so my sorority core values are being sweet and obedience. We do have a ritual book, even though its existence is supposed to be a secret. Every chapter house has at least one ritual book, ours only the president and the keeper of the ritual officers have a copy. No one is supposed to make copies of the book or write anything down. During ritual the president reads the ritual book. Once ritual starts all the sisters put on a white robe on top of their white dresses. I think most sororities wear a robe, what makes our different is the Scarlet red hood that forms the shape of an A in the back. A as in Alpha. Sisters put the hood on each other before ritual, and only another sister can take it off afterwards. You can't take it off yourself. Once you put on the robe, you can not say a word until you take it off except the president who will read the ritual of course. The ritual speaks of our core values which include sweetness and obedience. Some of the sisters hold a sword, and a lamp which symbolizes the sword that keeps our ritual, its values, and its secrecy, and the lamp that lights the world. Meaning that Alpha Omicron Pi sisters and its values are supposed to be the light that guides the world. Our ritual has some bible passages, but the one that sisters cherish the most is "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things." Once a week, we have chapter meetings which only initiated sisters can attend. Before it starts, the keeper of the ritual or the president stand in front of the door and sisters form a line outside to be admitted in the room. Before entering, there's a secret handshake which consists of using both hands to do the handshake to conceal what is happening inside. We rub our middle fingers. We then mouth the words " Keila Fella meira (i don't know if that's how you spell it) which means "Good friends rejoiceth" which means that good friends rejoice in seeing each other after a long time. I know I am not supposed to be saying this, but whatever
Hi sisters, there is a petition being circulated internally regarding anti-racism and changes that members who identify as POC would like to see within the organization. They are collecting signatures until Sunday 6/7.
I saw a post about it on my local Network FB group (Network 1). We have been instructed to only share with AOIIs, and it seems like this is on a lot of sisters' radars. Just wanted to make a post about it to make you aware that this is going around. Apologies if it's super vague, but I want to be respectful to the wishes of the organizers.
Hey everyone! Merry Christmas! Recently Iβve just been not enjoying my sorority as much as before & heard some girls saying crap about me & honestly Iβm over everything about it. I was wondering if Iβm eligible to go alum in AOII as a second semester sophomore? I know theyβre kind of strict compared to some other sororities about going alum :/ so I was wondering if any other AOIIβs know the requirements.

Hey yβall, I was just wondering if anyone knows why any specific AOII chapter has closed down? It looks like a lot have at big universities (Stanford, USC, LSU, UC Berkeley) and the smaller ones.
I'm from a fairly small chapter in Wisconsin and love seeing larger chapter opinions and experiences here but I haven't seen many AOIIs! Where my sisters at? :)

Couple weeks ago, I got a bid to AOII, and it was literally the best day of my life. I've got amazing sisters and an amazing family. I'm super excited to be initiated and officially be a part.
However I was reading some posts from my AOII and non-AOII friends at UC-Berkeley about their Sigma chapter losing its charter over a house, and I'm pretty confused..a ruby chapter level, that exemplify the AOII traditions, integrity, and sisterhood to the best degree, losing their charter because of a house?? It doesn't make sense to me.
What's your opinion on this as an AOII or non-AOII? Do you think XB made the right decision? Is there more the story?
At my school during formal recruitment season we aren't allowed to say "Go AOII!" or "Rush AOII!" but we can say "Go Greek!" This means that all those really cute "Rush AOII" or "AOII Fall 2013" Facebook banners are against our rules because they violate Panhellenic Spirit. I only recently discovered pixlr.com as an alternative to photoshop, because I do not have photoshop. Even if I had it, I have never been shown how to use it. I wanted to share the facebook banner I made, becasue I'm really proud of it.
I hope you guys like it! Any suggestion are appreciated. This is only my third or fourth time really trying to do any graphic design work.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
