[F] Annabel Lee by Edgar Allen Poe

from Classic Stories: Edgar Allen Poe Collection. from Classic Stories: Edgar Allen Poe Collection. I cant really express what Poe means to me. In my pink and purple sparkled room at 10 I took markers and paint, splattering quotes from The Raven all over. The walls when my parents came home after work had turned into a mismatch of innocent youth and gothic literature. I was just really lucky that I could do what I wanted with in reason with in those four walls. Anyway enough reminiscing, I hope you enjoy this version of one of my favorites.

The Importance of "Annabel Lee" by Edgar Allen Poe and an Analysis on the User and their Uploads - Spacehey

References:

So far from what I can tell is that they reference the poem, Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe. They have used a quote in the blog post titled Winged seraphs of heaven saying, "it was many and many a year ago, in a kingdom by the sea" and also messaged me a line from the poem "For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams''.

Quick Analysis:

Annabel Lee, is a poem that goes through the themes of love as well as death and grief. The speaker talks about the love between them-self and Annabel Lee; how their love was so strong, even making the angels jealous and being more powerful than anyone older and wiser than them. The speaker also speak of how he misses her, the moon bring them dreams of her. Telling us how much her death impacted them before they finally rest beside her. The death of Annabel was from a wind, which was cause by the envious angels.

Bulletins:

So far they only have one bulletin which the title is in morse code named, " .. / .-.. --- ...- . / -.-- --- ..- / -- --- -- .-.-.- / .. - .----. ... / - --- --- / .... --- - / - --- / ... - .- -.-- .-.-.- / .. / -- ..- ... - / .-.. . .- ...- . ". This translates to "I LOVE YOU MOM. IT'S TOO HOT TO STAY. I MUST LEAVE''. The whole content of this is the sentence "it's too hot, I'm melting" repeating over and over. I think that this could be referencing to hell and having to leave their life behind.

In the poem, there is no doubt that the angels are jealous of the two lovers. But what about the demons?

In the study guide on shmoop, the lines "and neither the angels in heaven above, nor the demons down under the sea,". Tell us that not only the angels are jealous but the demons too, who are after Annabel. The fact that these demons are in the see and the two lovers live in the kingdom by the sea, makes this more terrifying as those who envy are just next door.

Blog, "MFU NF HP":

The title of this blog translates to "Let me go" and obviously the whole thing is in code. This code is Caesar cipher (i think, not sure but it is done by going one letter back).

The contents of the post are: "J dbo'u ep uijt boznpsf. Ju't upp ipu. Mfu nf hp, npuifs efbsftu. J'wf hjwfo up zpv ebz bgufs ebz bgufs ebz

Mfu nf hp"

This translates into: " I can't do this anymore. It's too hot. Let me go, mother dearest. I've given to you day, after day after day. Let me go"

I don't know who this

Short film about Annabel Lee

When I was younger (around 1965), I when to the movies and saw a short film about Annabel Lee and I can't seem to find it anywhere on the internet. I was wondering if anyone knows where to find it and if someone can send me a link to it! It was a macabre movie about a man who loses his wife and a narrator was reading Annabel Lee in the background.

It was many and many a year ago,

In a kingdom by the sea,

That a maiden there lived whom you may know

By the name of Annabel Lee;

And this maiden she lived with no other thought

Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,

In this kingdom by the sea,

But we loved with a love that was more than loveโ€”

I and my Annabel Leeโ€”

With a love that the wingรจd seraphs of Heaven

Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,

In this kingdom by the sea,

A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling

My beautiful Annabel Lee;

So that her highborn kinsmen came

And bore her away from me,

To shut her up in a sepulchre

In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in Heaven,

Went envying her and meโ€”

Yes!โ€”that was the reason (as all men know,

In this kingdom by the sea)

That the wind came out of the cloud by night,

Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love

Of those who were older than weโ€”

Of many far wiser than weโ€”

And neither the angels in Heaven above

Nor the demons down under the sea

Can ever dissever my soul from the soul

Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;

For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams

Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;

And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes

Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;

And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side

Of my darlingโ€”my darlingโ€”my life and my bride,

In her sepulchre there by the seaโ€”

In her tomb by the sounding sea.

"Line AC" - Circle Parody of "Annabel Lee" (Feedback and suggestions welcome to make it more accurate)

It was many and many a year ago,

In a circle by name of C,

That a radius there lie whom you may know

By the name of line AC;

And this radius she stretched no farther

Than a length in feet by 3.

I was a line, and she was a line,

In this circle by name of C,

But we came together to form a diameterโ€”

I and my line ACโ€”

With a length that you soon will learn

Is equal to 2 times 3.

And this was the reason that, long ago,

In this circle by name of C,

That somebody changed the circleโ€™s circumference

Shrinking her and me;

So that the length of the radius

No longer equaled 3,

They shut us up in a concentric

Circle surrounding point C.

The arcs, not half so happy around us,

Went envying her and meโ€”

Yes!โ€”that was the reason (as all men know,

In this circle by name of C)

That a secant came into our circle one night,

Severing my line AC.

But the length of our arc was longer by far

Of minor arcs smaller than 180โ€”

But smaller than major arcs larger than 180โ€”

And neither all tangents around us

Nor circles congruent to C

Can ever dissever the chord that connects

Me and line AC;

For the arc of a circle all semi would connect the endpoint of me

To the endpoint of line AC;

And angles all central are ever so gentle

When using my line AC;

And so, all angles inscribed always intersect the side

Of my radiusโ€”my radiusโ€”who is now 2 feet wide,

In our concentric by name of Cโ€”

In our circle with the center of C.
