A list of puns related to "Anchor Books"
Hopefully this is the right subreddit for this post. Looking to find out what book I read, and to learn more about some anchors that were in the book. Thanks in advance for any help.
So, a few summers ago I was on vacation in the Outer Banks, and read an interesting book about Blackbeard. It was more of a story about his personal life, the time spent in the Carolinas, I think mostly in the town of Bath, relationships with politicians (I believe it was mainly Charles Eden), some things about Alexander Spotswood, some young girl he got involved with and possibly married, (Not sure the name of the girl, didnβt he have over a dozen wives?) , and other events around this town. I think he tried to straighten up and lead a respectable life but was still looked down on, leading him to go back to piracy. This all eventually lead up to the blockade of Charles Town, and later his death. Iβm sure thereβs a lot of plot points I missed or glazed over, itβs all very foggy in my head.
This book seemed like a historical fiction, so Iβm not sure how accurate it was, but either way it was an interesting read that Iβd like to read again if anyone is able to tell me what book they think I read. Iβve tried looking up books about him but just canβt seem to find this one. Maybe I saw it and didnβt realize.
One thing I do remember though, and would like to hear more about, is that in this book there was a plot line that involved making dozens, if not hundreds, of anchors made out of precious metal (I think silver but possibly gold) and painting them black. I think the point of this was to store them in a warehouse without being detected, so he would be able to hide probably hundreds of pounds of silver in plain sight. However I canβt seem to find any trace of this story online. Does anyone know more about this or is able to use this story to point me towards the book Iβm thinking of?
Anyway, thanks to anybody reading this, and Iβll be appreciative of any leads helping me find this book. Thank you
I activate a monster effect, my friend chains widow anchor I chain book of moon and he chains another widow anchor. does my monster effect resolve? (we played on ygpro and it did resolve so why is it like that? or is the game bugged?
Monster was Robina Floowandereeze : If this face-up card would leave the field, banish it instead. You can only use each of the following effects of "Floowandereeze & Robina" once per turn, and cannot Special Summon during the turn you activate either effect. If this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 Level 4 or lower Winged Beast monster from your Deck to your hand, then immediately after this effect resolves, you can Normal Summon 1 Winged Beast monster. If a Winged Beast monster is Normal Summoned to your field while this card is banished: You can add this card to your hand.
Now thereβs waiting for the third! π
Second book was much better than the first. I still loved the first butβ¦
Rhagos > Aron. Sorry not sorry. Lol.
Guess itβs time for some standalone novels now to finish off my Ruby addiction! I donβt think Iβm interested in the bearsβ¦lol.
It was such a good book, but it might have been from the Wattpad days.
Anyway, I remember so clearly that it opens with her getting her IUD out! Iβm 99% sure her name is Alison- sheβs a lawyer who doesnβt get promoted to partner, her ex-husband had been cheating with their marriage counselor. This Scottish news anchor paid for a vacation with his girlfriend who he then breaks up with, so he asks if there are any women with the girlfriendβs name who would be willing to go. Obviously the lawyer goes, they fall in love, etc.
Obviously thatβs not the true story of the first pretzel. But thereβs a fanciful childrenβs book about how the first pretzel was made in a ship, and the sailor used some dough as an anchor, and then when they were done with the anchor they baked the dough and had a nice little pretzel.
Book is at least 20 years old. It might be just one part in a book of stories; I donβt know if itβs the WHOLE book. Googling βpretzel childrenβs bookβ either turned up books that arenβt it, or the books listed donβt have enough detail to confirm whether this is what Iβm looking for. Help me Reddit!
