For several months now, INC leaders have been warning their members about Gen Z’s “spreading lies and misinformation” on social media. We are constantly being warned not to read whatever it is they’re supposedly posting as they might “poison” our faith. They also take into account how they are pro-human rights, and speak out against the church. There’s also an increased emphasis on targeting the LGBTQ+ community because many here have spoken from personal experiences with being abused by the church and family members. To add insult to injury, they constantly preach about how these “unnatural” human beings will be condemned to hell. As if we don’t already know. They only do this to hurt and retaliate against those members here who speak on their traumatic experiences. Where’s the Christianity in that? This cult only seems to preach hate. You’re not trying to prevent people from being gay, you’re hurting those who are and are TRYING not to be — to the point where they feel like they have to kill themselves for being ashamed of who they are! We’ve been living in a worsening pandemic and not ONCE have I received the food for my soul — as much as I STILL try to seek it. I may not believe in this cult anymore but it sure would be great to have a connection with God. This hateful cult severed my ties with Him. To all the lurking ministers here: read your lessons. Do you preach love? Do you preach anything relevant that doesn’t eventually allude to praising the church administration, bashing those darned kids on social media, forcing people to give offerings, propagation, and the so-called intensive renewal of life? These lessons are recycled. How hard is EVM truly working? I think we all could come up with better lessons than these! Inspire us a bit, yeah?
When they talk about social media, they’re obviously referring this sub-Reddit: perhaps the only platform where members’ voices aren’t silenced. But if you actually take every post on here into account, you’ll come to find that a) we’re people of all ages b) the church is a cult and it’s toxic and problematic in several ways c) many, if not most of us stumbled upon this sub looking for answers as to WHY everything feels so strange and unethical in this religion d) MANY OF US ARE VICTIMS.

Living in a world that's already populated with humans who get immense amount of power from radioactive arachnids, cosmic rays, alien technology, or obscene amounts of wealth, the X-Men fight not only to stop humans from oppressing mutants, but also mutants who seek to commit atrocities against innocent humans. This is a franchise that is brimming with rich stories and a hugely loyal fanbase, and that fight against prejudice is baked deeply into its core. A story about the X-Men is not an X-Men story if it doesn't deal with oppression, identity, and the act of "othering". It's no surprise that adaptations such as the 1992 animated series and the Fox movie franchise wasted little time putting those themes at the forefront.
But the X-Men's greatest defeat didn't come at the hands of dangerous foes like Magneto, Apocalypse, or Mr. Sinister. It didn't come from bigoted humans like Bolivar Trask, Senator Robert Kelly, or William Stryker. Nor it did come from Cyclops and Wolverine in-fighting, or that weird time Marvel tried to commit mutant genocide via the Inhumans (that's a drama post for another day, I swear).
