A list of puns related to "American International School Of Lagos"
Is it a good idea or better to wait? Can they travel to Nigeria safely now? With their children? What do you think?
I currently teach at an American public school and am looking to take my career internationally. What are the major differences between the workplace environments?
Hi all!
One of the recruiters Iβm working with is Adventure Teaching and they have offered me an interview with North American International School in Uijeongbu. However, as much as I researched, I havenβt found anything about them!
Has anyone heard of them or worked for them? Iβm kind of sketched out and definitely hesitant. But you never know.
Any advice appreciated!!
Just for context Iβm singaporean (as in I hold a passport) even tho Iβve only lived here for 2-3 yrs and I go to singapore American school. I heard that some people here tend to dislike SAS kids. Iβm guessing this is bc they have the impression SAS is full of spoiled, rich kids (which is somewhat true tho.)
Hi! I was wondering if I am certified in the US with Bachelor's in Education, certified at a state level via the Praxis test in History and English) if that will translate to British or Australian international schools that require IGCSE, or if I would have to do an additional certification. Any help would be phenomenal!
I took a short break but am glad to be back working on today's Medical School Breakdown
American International School of Medicine (Guyana South America
This program is based in Georgetown, Guyana in South America, and has USA offices in Georgia. It is an MD program, and tuition is about $23k a year. It is an international program and does not mention much on curriculum other than some rotation specifics, and no mention of GPA/MCAT requirements or averages.
There are no offices of Diversity, LGBTQ+, or a Medical School Pride Alliance Chapter.
At the current moment homosexual acts are illegal and can result in life imprisonment. It appears that efforts to decriminalize homosexual acts have begun but only βcross dressingβ is legal and there are negatvie attitudes towards LGBTQ+ individuals.
Or any other form of Asian American history? What did your school do for AAPI month (May)?
I have moved around different countries for most my life. My 9th and 10th grade are not the best but since I started taking 11th grade seriously, it's going exceptionally well. I lived in India for two years, until 8th grade, and I couldn't help but notice how serious and motivated students there are early on in school for performing. It's crazy to think how many extra curriculars and things they do, that sometimes put mine to shame. I'm not saying I'm a bad applicant, but what makes me different from them? I am still going to be a international candidate, just like them. Sure I've moved around the world but does that really compensate for my 9th grade? My main question is does graduating at an American school as an international student give me an edge over other international students that are applying abroad?
Hey guys,
I'm thinking about applying to British schools for the Fall semester for a master's in Politics/International Relations but I haven't put in an application yet. Realistically speaking, is there still a decent, probable shot of me still attending if I were to apply to said schools late June/early July? I've seen some British programs have pretty late due dates (i.e. August 2021 for an October 2021 start date) but I don't know if that's a legal fiction or not or if that's strictly for British nationals.
But seriously though... I'm Canadian and at this point considering never stepping foot in the US again. Canada is ripe with white supremacy and all that good stuff too which is why I've been telling myself that going to school in the states couldn't be so different. Anyone currently studying in the states that can talk about their experiences?
(Also, doesn't help being Asian and Americans thinking you have Covid AND despite thinking you have Covid also willing to get close enough to you to beat you to death for causing Covid. All the while simultaneously believing the virus is a hoax and doesn't actually exist anywayyyy please make it make sense sorry this post is so useless holy shit I hope you're all safe especially in DC)

Background information: I am part of an international teaching couple. I have 10 years of experience-6 years in the classroom and 4 in leadership as an instructional coach/teacher trainer. I have an M.S. in Educational Psychology, US teaching certification in ECE, and ECE Leadership Certification.
My husband has an M.Ed in Teaching & Learning/STEAM and a US teaching certification in intermediate Math. We want to stay in international education for at least the next 10 years. We are on our second contract, first in South America and now in North Africa after spending 5 years in the US.
We were offered unsolicited leadership jobs at a global network of private bilingual schools mostly serving Latin America and the USA. We have a educational consultation side business and led PD for their staff which is why they thought of us for the positions.
I was offered a Principal position at an early years center and my husband a Director of Curriculum and Instruction for their digital K-12 school.
We are currently very comfortable at our school and have a solid package/savings rate. We were planning on staying a few more years and then beginning to apply to Tier 1 schools for teaching positions.
Should we accept these leadership positions or stay with the American International School as teachers? Would it be consider quality experience when applying to tier 1 schools if the schools we are leading are not at that level. They are IB certified and accredited by the US but not connected with embassies.
Our ultimate goal is to get teaching positions at a school like the International School of Bangkok or The Singapore American School. Would schools at this level place value on leadership positions like these or prefer more years of experience as classroom teachers?
Hi, I just got an offer from AISVN after a few great interviews with the school leaders. I need to finalize my decision soon. This is my first overseas post, even though Iβve been teaching in international schools in my home country for 5 years and studied overseas for 3 years. I am still a bit nervous, especially under the shadow of Covid.
Anyone can share something about the school and living in HCMC?
I currently work in the outdoor education industry and am thinking to get a teaching qualification as I love to teach and want the option to live internationally and work. I am American but live with my British boyfriend in Dubai who is planning to do a PGCE back in the UK next year. Here's the thing I don't know what's better and would give me more options: a PGCE from the UK or a Masters in Teaching from the US (the program I would be doing is in Oregon).
It looks like they would cost the same more or less and take the same amount of time. I am currently doing a masters in biology so in a year or so I'll have a masters regardless.
I would like the option to teach in international schools for awhile but also be able to come back to the states eventually as well and have the ability to teach.
Thanks !
