A list of puns related to "Alternative Press Music Awards"
For over a year now, since the beginning of the 2015 tour, /u/Spifffyy has been posting an Official Tour Thread for every live show BABYMETAL has performed. These threads are for anything and everything relating to the relevant show. Discussion, videos, pictures, tweets - anything!
This thread is also to collect everything in one place, so that we and future Kitsunes can look back at each show, so if you have anything relevant to the show, be sure to post it here! If you wish to look back at other shows, see below for previous concerts from 2015 onwards!
If you want to discuss plans to meet up before or after the show, or anything not directly related to the show itself, you can do it in the World Tour (US) Organizational Megathread II.

What song/songs do you think Twenty One Pilots will perform at the Alternative press music awards. Personally I think it's time they start performing songs other than Holding on the you, House of Gold, or Car Radio for larger performances. I'm hopeful they'll either play Forrest, Guns for Hands, or Trees because I really think it's those songs that encapsulates the power of their live performances. What are your thoughts fellow dreamers?
The APMAs are starting in about 6 hours and PVRIS are nominated (Lynn for Best Vocalist, PVRIS for Breakthrough Band, "My House" for Song of the Year and "St. Patrick" for Best Music Video). They're also going to be performing, so be sure to tune in and watch!
EDIT: PVRIS sang "My House" and they won the Breathrough Band Award!
Whether you consider them relevant or not, the Video Music Awards are pretty much the only time nowadays when MTV makes any attempt to acknowledge that music videos even exist. This year, it looks like they're bringing back their Best Alternative Video award.
This award was first presented in 1991 (1989 if you count its precursor, the Best Post-Modern Video). It wasn't one of those minor awards that they gave out before the ceremony started; it was a major award that they announced on stage and had the winner come up to get it. It meant something during a time when alternative music meant something.
However, MTV stopped presenting the award after the 1998 ceremony. I'm guessing by that time, they no longer saw alternative music as trendy. At the end of the day, MTV is a business and they're going to try to stay relevant by chasing after the musical trends that generate the most buzz. For example, they just introduced a new award last year for Best K-Pop Video, since that's the new big thing and all.
Which makes me wonder, what is going on in alternative music nowadays that made MTV decide to revive this award after 22 years? For what it's worth, the nominees are:
β’ "If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)" - The 1975
β’ "Some Kind of Disaster" - All Time Low
β’ "Let's Fall in Love for the Night" - FINNEAS
β’ "Doin' Time" - Lana Del Rey
β’ "Bloody Valentine" - Machine Gun Kelly
β’ "Level of Concern" - Twenty One Pilots
To be honest, I've been out of it for a while, so I haven't listened to any of these particular songs. Do they really capture the same alternative spirit that the ones from the '90s did? Based on what I have heard from some of these artists in the past, I'm not sure. But then again, I'm not really part of the current youth generation, so I don't exactly know what kinds of ideas would even constitute to that.
