A list of puns related to "Alistair Petrie"
Was re-watching the 1996 Emma telemovie after having watched the Emma 2020 movie and thought the actor who was playing Robert Martin in the 1996 version looked oddly similar to Connor Swindells (but surely he wouldn't even have been born then HAHA)
As it turns out Alistair Petrie was playing the same role in 1996 Connor Swindells is playing in 2020!
In the very next scene, Tom Hanks, playing the boxer "Dermott" discussing his book failures with his publisher Mr. Cavendish, Dermott sees Haley Berry across from a bar and then proceeds to get into an argument with Mr Felix Finch (Alistair Petrie) at a party, the argument gets heated and Dermott proceeds to throw Mr Felix Finch off a balcony.
Never noticed it before and wanted to document it so i dont forget it the next time i watch Cloud Atlas.
I'd wager it's none other than general Airen Cracken, the head of Security and Intelligence of the Rebel Alliance.
It makes a lot of sense that the intelligence chief would be present for the briefing of this top secret mission. So much sense, in fact, that he's shown briefing Han Solo on a similar mission in #1 of the current Han Solo comic. A comic in which he's drawn to look not unlike mr Petrie.
If I'm right, it's another nice piece of connectivity by the Story Group.
I knew everyone is well aware that Adam and Mr. Groff look like a real father and son but, was anyone watching S3E6 and thought the actor who played Mr. Groff's father also looked like a real family member? Actors' names: alistair petrie (Mr. Groff), connor swindells (Adam), and george asprey (Grandpappy Groff).
In pyroβs video on Utopia he mentioned that Alistair Petrie (the guy who played Geoff) has a reoccurring role in Sex Education, and while re-watching the show i realized that Niel Maskell (Pietre) makes an appearance as a police officer in season 2 episode 5. So not only is Sex Education a great show, two of the Utopia characters have appearances in it!
Overall I know itβs pretty minor but I still thought it was cool :)

... keep reading on reddit β‘Most Likely: (Not in ranking order)
Asa Butterfield (his best season and performance imo especially in S7 and S8 in the hospital)
Connor Swindell (obviously no need to explain)
Alistair Petrie (so fucking good)
Gillian Anderson (her best performance in the series too)
Maybe?:
Mimi Keene (her acting is great in S3 but I'm afraid it won't be recognised as much because she wasn't really felt enough in the 2nd half of the season)
Possible: (they already have been nominated before for their roles so...)
Emma Mackey (not her best season and performance but still)
Aimee Lou Wood (she's good too but not compared to S2)
Ncuti Gatwa ( possible but I think s1 is still his best)
What do ya'll think?
Hi everyone! So season 3 is almost here so i want to touch one character which most of people feel at least uncertain about. I'm talking about a now former headmaster of the Moordale - Michael Groof. First of all - this is reasonable that people have weird feelings about him because he is being such a dick for most of the show (but ESPECIALLY in season 2) but here is the thing - i think writers showed us what kind of person you'll become when you wouldn't even try to feel something towards people that are close to you and how heartbroken it can be for them. And we can see it through Adam in season 1 and through Maureen in season 2. And if you being that person with no feeling at all you can lose everyone and everything which he did losing his wife, his job and in some way his son. And Alistair Petrie played him so great so sometimes you literally hate this character a lot for his attitude towards other people.
So the loss of his wife woke up some feelings inside of him which you can see in the scene when he askes Adam about Maureen and shows some kind of care. So i expecting to see Michael showing more feeling in upcoming season. Thanks everyone

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat
Do your worst!
How the hell am I suppose to know when itβs raining in Sweden?
Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.
They were cooked in Greece.
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
Now that I listen to albums, I hardly ever leave the house.
Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
Two muffins are in an oven, one muffin looks at the other and says "is it just me, or is it hot in here?"
Then the other muffin says "AHH, TALKING MUFFIN!!!"
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
