Epstein's Obsession with Genetics. Is there a link with 23andMe?

In 2012 Jeffrey Epstein launched a company called Southern Trust, whose goal was to carry out DNA data-mining services. Perhaps one of the most puzzling things about this company, which was run from his Virgin Island estate, was that it supposedly had pulled in over $200 million in revenues.

According to the Times analysis of his financial submissions, "... the documents do not say who was paying vast sums of money to Mr. Epstein’s new venture just a few years after his 2008 guilty plea to soliciting a minor for prostitution. Nor do they offer an explanation for why customers would hand over money to a man who had apparently switched from financial services to DNA research....The filings also disclose that Southern Trust received a $30.5 million loan that same year, but don’t say who provided it."

In 2013, its first full year in existence, Southern Trust reported fee income of $51 million. Who were Epstein's customers? According to Epstein's one filing, "What Southern Trust will do will be basically organizing mathematical algorithms so that if I want to know what my predisposition is for cancer we can now have my genes specifically sequenced". That is effectively exactly what 23&Me is doing.

If he was indeed engaged in DNA data-ming and analysis, who was supplying the DNA data? There are only a very small number of companies that would possess a large DNA database and who would be flush enough to pay that kind of money.

Epstein had become obsessed with transhumanisim - the belief that people can artificially improve the human body using technology. Jaron Lanier, a respected virtual reality expert who said he refused his funding claimed Epstein told him he hoped to inseminate 20 women at one time, a claim that Epstein is alleged to have repeated on another occasion. Insiders have said that Epstein talked openly about his belief in cryogenics, a science that preserves a body with the intention of reviving

Old man name for #3 boy

We have an Oscar and Walter, and bringing in a third boy in the next couple months. My front runner is Harvey (middle name will be Keith after a grandfather)…husband does like it but is still thinking of other options.

We prefer names you don’t hear that often but have a classic feel to them, and not too off-the-wall culturally (in US) - for instance, I love the name Alfred/Alfie but it just sounds super British to me and I can’t help but feel like it would seem out of place where we live or as a teen could even be a little embarrassing?

Things we considered with our other two were passing the “Starbucks” test (common sense spellings), as well as a name that we feel could easily work as an adult in a spectrum of professions (could the name work both if they were a pro skier or a Congressman??). We are also big on nicknames that roll off of their given names, initials, etc.

Thoughts or any other suggestions??

Edit: wow, you guys are GOOD!! So many great ideas added to our list 😍😍

Secretary of Labor: Horace Boies (1893-1897)

Secretary of Agriculture: Norman J. Coleman (1893-1897)

Early Reforms and Congressional Battles

Having achieved a substantial popular mandate in his reelection, President Powderly began his term by dismissing Secretary of War David B. Hill. Powderly had initially appointed Hill to the position as a patronage reward for Hill’s support in the 1888 campaign, but the two bristled in each others’ company and had a poor working relationship. With Hill’s political machine a popular target for the Liberals in New York, it increasingly appeared as though Hill was more of a liability than an asset to Powderly.

Despite Hill’s insistence that Powderly would regret the decision, the Secretary was unable to marshal much support from the party and ultimately acquiesced to leaving office. The other partings in Powderly’s cabinet were due to desires for retirement and thus more amicable. In replacing these men, Powderly primarily sought out southerners to balance a cabinet that antagonistic Republicans and Liberals had forced to be oriented towards the North.

Secretary of War David B. Hill, President Powderly’s newfound party rival

Although the Populists had achieved a healthy majority in the House, they still depended on a handful of progressive allies in the Senate to pass legislation and found themselves stymied in the scope of what they could pass. Nonetheless, they were successful in passing several major bills during the first two years of Powderly’s presidency. First and foremost among these was the Macune Revenue Act, named after newly minted Senator Charles Macune of Texas who sponsored the Act.

The Act implemente

Megathread of ViewerAnon's info on the plot of 'The Batman'

Spoilers ahead...

Since multiple test screenings have already taken place for The Batman, with ViewerAnon being a primary source of credible info related to them via tweets and reddit comments, we felt that the time had come to create a central updatable thread to track all their claims to date. This reduces the fragmentation that would come with approving multiple posts on minor plot points and provides a primary space for discussion on VA's claims.

Please direct all claims to the comments so this thread can be kept accordingly up-to-date (barring a full plot leak or any particularly notable info, which will be approved as their own posts on a case-by-case basis). If there are any points that have been missed, just let us know.

Note: Whilst VA is considered a more reliable source than average when it comes to test screening-related info, as with any source, do not take their word as gospel and exercise due scrutiny (whilst also remaining respectful!).

This post contains some major spoilers for The Batman, so read ahead at your own risk. You have been warned!

General plot points

  • The Batman is "a nearly three hour long detective story" and "full blown noir film"
  • The story begins on Halloween and runs for about a week
  • Batman keeps a journal which is read to the audience in voiceover
  • Most of Pattinson's dialogue is comprised of this voiceover (BSL compared it to Rorschach’s narration in Watchmen)
  • Bruce wears the suit for most of the runtime
  • "He's just Batman, with little interest in being Bruce"
  • "There is a scene where Alfred attempts to get Bruce to meet some execs at Wayne Enterprises but Bruce chooses not to as he wants no part in that world and is more immersed in being Batman" (via BSL, unconfirmed)
  • Bella Real is a mayoral candidate who genuinely wants to improve life in Gotham its citizens
  • Alfred begins the film with the scar
  • "It's not something at the end of the movie and it's not something Riddler says himself, but there's a very dramatic and tense scene that culminates in a Watchmen-esque ["It already happened, Batman is too late"](https://i2.wp.com/batman-news.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/The-Batman-2022-Trailer-2-Screenshots-17.jpg?fit=3840%2C1600&quality=80&strip=info&ssl

Anyone following Professor Alfred McCoy’s work?

Professor Alfred McCoy has been predicting the current decline in the U.S. hegemony for decades. He’s the Fred Harvey Harrington Professor of History at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His newest book, To Govern the Globe: World Orders and Catastrophic Change, outlines the collision course of the fall of the U.S. as the world superpower, the rise of China to surpass the U.S. in global dominance by 2030, the fall of the U.S. dollar as international standard by 2030, and then prediction of nearly a billion climate refugees arriving to the U.S. by 2050. All predictions and not guaranteed, of course, but he makes some excellent arguments. He’s not a fly-by-night guy either. This shit is scary. Just looking to discuss.

My DCEU 1 (Intro + Batman Series Part 1)

[Reposting this again. I'm new to reddit posting so I made a few mistakes with formatting and wanted to fix it this time.]

Ok let’s take it from the top:

I really really love DC comics: the stories, characters, the world, everything.

And the DCEU is just a mess. So, like anyone with too much time on their hands I decided to write one myself. Honestly this sub is amazing, and it has really helped me with ideas and creativity. I know that this is just another DCEU thing but I just love these characters so much that this became a fun passion project for me.

Couple of things:

  1. Not all of these movie ideas are mine. I am not nearly dumb enough to think I am smarter than so many incredible fans and creators. Honestly, its pretty remarkable how many great ideas and projects fans have created, as well as the amazing ideas that come from existing DC media such as animated series and movies. Obviously much of this work is mine, but a lot of the basis for these ideas and specifics are from others. I guess my best creative talent is as an accumulator and organizer, taking notes and putting them into a singular narrative structure. I dunno. Regardless, I made sure to include links and references to those creators to make sure that you could find their work and give them the recognition that they deserve more than me.
  2. I am constantly changing these outlines all the time so I really would like to know any feedback about how I can improve these things.
  3. I use square brackets. They are just notes for clarity or my thoughts about certain things.

Alright, now that that's out of the way, let's get started with the first stage of this:

Hans Zimmer always come to mind when I see this now.

Batman will have nine movies in total plus some spinoffs. It's really cliché to say this but Batman is my favorite comic character and think the character deserves a truly epic and long franchise. The way I see it, the Batman movies would be released at the same time as other DC movies, but they take place in a different time within the same universe. Basically, the movies would tell the story from Batman’s origin all the way to his re-emergence in my version of Batman v Superman.

Each section would ideally have a different director helming and a different actor as Batman. I got the idea from Batman Forever and think it could actually work somew

Canon Telltale Batman choices?

SPOILERS FOR TELLTALE’S BATMAN SERIES

What do you think are the most canon Batman decisions in these games. Now, to be clear, I’m not asking you which ones make for the most interesting story or which ones make the most sense to you. I’m specifically asking which choices Telltale most obviously wanted or expected the player to make. I know there are no “wrong” decisions. But if you pay attention to clues throughout both games, you can tell that there is a clear bias towards certain outcomes. Here are some examples:

Episode 1, hit the sniper with the metal bar in the warehouse. This one is really easy since Alfred will be upset with Bruce over “almost killing a man” no matter what you pick.

Give the evidence to Gordon. This will later justify why he would allow you to see a bedridden Falcone in the precinct.

Episode 2, save Selina instead of Harvey. Not only does this give us a more traditional Two-Face, but the logos that his police force have on their shoulders in later episodes show that his face is obviously meant to be burned.

Episode 3, Sleep with Selina. I really don’t have to spell this one out for anyone who’s played the game.

Let Lucious come work for you and leave Wayne Enterprises. Him staying at Wayne Enterprises doesn’t do squat and him coming to work with you gives you access to that light grenade thing.

Episode 4, call your lawyers at the Asylum. This was the plan you set up with John and calling Gordon doesn’t do ANYTHING other than give you a fixed outcome in which Alfred bails you out.

Go after Harvey instead of Penguin. Not only does this give us an even more traditional Two-Face and penguin with burned clothes and an umbrella, but it also gives us the option to send Harvey to the Asylum. Now when Batman is running down the Asylum corridors, it’ll make more sense when he turns his head to look at a cell since he’ll be seeing his friend Harvey instead of that blue guy randomly moving a door around. Plus, burning down Wayne Manor does NOTHING later in episode 5.

Going after Harvey also gives us the more traditional Batman suit with no armor. I’ve noticed that Batman acts much more careful in the game even if he has the much more advanced, more armored suit. So the cloth suit makes much more sense. It also makes small details in the final battle with Lady Arkham make more sense.

So, what are the canon decisions the games want you to make? What does the game do to make it more clear that these are the preferred choices? (Canon d

Through all of this we see The Wizard's daughter Blaze who is angry with her father for taking Adam under his wing and not giving her the powers of Shazam; out of anger, she makes a deal with the God Set so that Adam will not draw powers from SHAZAM but will in reality be slowly corrupted.

A long and overall pointless post about Batman Forever

Watchout! Note's on a long winded tangent again! Very long post incoming! You've been warned!

So as the title might just suggest, I've been thinking about Batman Forever a lot recently. To the point that I rewatched all four Burton / Schumacher movies to better characterize my feelings for Forever and how it relates to the other three. And in this process I came to a series of revelations I thought I'd share here. With the main end goal being to describe a better Batman Forever plot than what we got.

Starting off, I do not hate Batman Forever. I actually enjoy quite a lot of it. It's obviously a departure compared to '89 and Returns but I think it has a lot of positives that end up placing it as my second favorite of the quaternity (My rankings go '89, Forever, Returns, and then & Robin).

However, Forever has two main problems. It's villain usage, and its introduction of Robin. What's fascinating is the ways in which the film went about these issues are the exact polar opposite from what they should have. In both cases.

Let me explain with the villains first, and then move onto the Boy Wonder. Riddler and Two-Face are used completely backwards in this film. From a structural level, it makes far more sense for Riddler to be the established threat in Gotham, and for the movie to serve as Two-Faces origin. This accomplishes two things. First it gives more focus to the better origin (even if the film used Eddie's actual origin story, Harvey's is better. And the film doesn't even use the real origin, they have to make the dumb Box thing his origin), and second it allows for the Riddler to actually use his gimmick on screen without him being Eddie being a reveal. Like it's said in the film that Riddler leaves clues behind to lead to the next robbery. But that's never shown, all of the riddles shown are directed at Bruce, not Batman. Which is weird because for over half the film Eddie is neither the Riddler nor aware that Bruce is Batman. So it's an odd choice all around.

Reversing Riddler and Two-Faces roles in the film plays to each villains strengths. Instead of showing Two-Face getting splashed with acid on TV as a pseudo-flashback, have Riddler get caught and then be on trial halfway through, then one of his goons throws the acid as a distraction and Eddie escapes. Then the climax of the film is a Riddler on the run from Batman, the Cops, and Two-Face. With Two-Face wanting to murder pretty much everyone for their involvement in his creation, and Ha

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

My DCEU 2 (Batman Series Part 2.1)

(Link to part 1: reddit.com/r/fixingmovies/comments/rwqtus/my_dceu_1_intro_batman_series_part_1/)

Ok time for section two (will be three posts due to character limits). This section is structured to reflect Bruce’s traumas regarding losing his family and whether he can still have a family despite all his pain.

Specifically, this part of the series introduces allies, the most prominent being Dick Grayson as Robin. I love the Robins and consider them critical aspects to Batman stories. The fact that we have had so many great Batman movies but have yet to have a Batman movie with a proper adaptation of Robin is kind of disappointing to a degree. If there is one hope I have for the upcoming Robert Pattinson movie series, it’s that they introduce some sort of version of Robin and show audiences how important he can be to Bruce’s story [btw Dick Grayson in my stories would be in his mid teens when he is adopted by Bruce].

Now, some of these movies have “twists” which probably any Batman fan could spot from a mile away. But I am not nearly smart enough to have different twists lol.

Also: I stink at making titles so take that in mind if some seem very cringy lol.

Last note: I would like to stress that these movies would NOT be like the Nolanverse. Each section would have a different director and style. These movie pitches are not meant to be an extension of the Nolanverse. These pitches are just my own fun little what if where the story points from that trilogy are extended but with a different style of filmmaking, direction, whatever. I just think it could be interesting to see multiple directors taking on a Batman series, but a series in which the basic plots carry over. I know this might not be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s fine. Being fans means that there is a wide range of opinions and that’s what makes fandoms so amazing in my opinion.

Now let’s get into it:

4. Batman: Silent Knight

· Based on comic/movie Batman: Hush (with some influences from Batman Forever**’s extended version which deals with Bruce’s trauma from his parents’ murder).**

· [This movie is about Bruce feeling the effects of being so alone in his crusade and falling into a darker place of exacting justice. He also is annoyed that his name is being ruined by his carefree playboy image. Sure, when he was younger it didn’t bother him. B

I didn't realise just how much I love being in Perth

On the other thread, someone asked me to explain what Perth had to offer. I started typing and just couldn't stop. This isn't a complete list and I would even go so far as to say there are things on there that are no longer accurate (do they still do paragliding in the Wheatbelt? They used to -- but I'm getting old). My question to you is; what am I missing? What have I forgotten? What else can we use to sell Perth -- because for one of our own to say "there's nothing TO DO in Perth" quite frankly, is fucking bullshit!

>Boola Bardip, our state museum in the centre of Perth (ie public transport could not be easier) is currently free entry. OK, I've probably started with one of the most boring example for some people, but a lot of people rave about it; continuing on the culture theme though, we have a wide variety of arts & cultural festivals such as Perth International Arts festival, Fringeworld, Perth Writer's festival, Disrupted festival of ideas & Perth Jazz festival just to name a few.

>Many of Perth's actives are very much driven by the climate; across all the suburbs of Perth, you will find everything from golf to rugby to surfing, yachting, pistol & rifle / skeet shooting (an indoor one about 15mins from Perth city centre), your obvious ball sports (netball, basketball, tennis, footy), we have volunteer organisations that rehabilitate wildlife if that's your thing. Every single town council and organisation looking to grow is putting free events on right now; City of Bayswater holds a free concern every 3 months or so in a local park of a variety of styles. The local music scene here in Perth is quite amazing with a greater depth to it than many people imagine. Pretty much every suburb has their own buy/sell/trade, from the Stock Yards in Mundijong to the the Rotary Club markets, well, in every other shopping centre carpark from 6am on a Sunday.

>We have semi-regular beer, wine, chilli, chicken, whatever festivals, we have the Perth Night Markets & the Noodle Markets starting up again soon (weather has obviously been an issue of late, having had our wettest winter since like, the 80's)

>We have the usual localities that you'll find in any city; William St in Northbridge is the gateway to Chinatown, Victoria Park has a Cafe strip that goes for kilometres of different cuisines from Nepalese to Italian, up in Mirrabooka you'll get a lot of South African restaurants, as well as your local community restaurants, your typi

Fixing DC using the new leaks

So people are a little upset about the new DCEU leaks, I'm gonna try to use these leaks to make a good DCEU

The Major Players

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman will be the face of the new DCEU so I'll do a quick rundown of Wonder Woman's third movie War of the Gods.

War of the Gods would be an adaptation of War of the Gods. Circe recruits a rouge group of amazons to help her with the guise of taking over Themyscria and for Dr Psycho just money. Little do they know that Circe actually wants to kill Gaea the Earth Deity to please the Goddess Hecate. The movie would focus on Wonder Woman trying to stop Circe as she sends the Rouge Amazons to attack major cities across the world.

The movie would also be more of an ensemble movie compared to previous movies while Diana is very much the main character Aquaman and Shazam would basically serve as her co-stars. Diana would also get help from Asteria, we'd take a delve into her backstory and her future(the Justice Society). Other camoes would also occur such as Bruce Wayne, Supergirl, and Black Adam. Dr Fate would also be in the movie with a group of sorcerers and magicians made up of John Constantine, Zatana, Madame X, Sargon, and even Enchantress, they'd be using Magic to try and counter Circe's magic. The final battle would be a one on one battle in the tower of fate between Diana and Circe, Circe is defeated and locked away in the tower of fate by Dr Fate. A post credits scene introduces Donna Troy and the movie ends with Diana in a mysterious sterile space talking to someone about how the world still needs heroes, we pan out and reveal that this person is Bruce Wayne, we pan out more and reveal that the place they're in is the Watchtower.

Wonder Woman would be from here on out the biggest character in the DCEU and viewed as the world's greatest hero basically taking Superman's place. She'd also get a second trilogy.

Aquaman

Aquaman would be another part of the new trinity, I'm not gonna go into detail about his next movie but I will say Garth and Khaldur are both in it.

Aquaman is going to be sort of a Black Panther equivalent as a ruler of a kingdom, his arc would be about how he matures into a good King. Aquaman's third movie would also be sort of an ensemble piece with the Dead King Atlan as the antagonist while Martian Manhunter and King Shark would serve as co-stars. Aquaman's first trilogy would be his only trilogy as by the end of the movie as he decides to step away from herois

My DCEU Part 3 (Batman Series Part 2.2)

(Link to 2.1: https://www.reddit.com/r/fixingmovies/comments/s07bo0/my_dceu_2_batman_series_part_21/)

[Title should be Part 2, made a mistake my bad]

6. Gotham Knights

· Based on Court of Owls comic (as well as some Batman: Venom inspiration) as well as very loosely based on the movie Batman vs. Robin

· [Bruce realizes he has more and more people who are apart of his crusade and want to follow his fight. But he has to get over his fears of losing this new “family” through his own actions, like he believes he did to his parents by being scared of the bats. I also wanted to look at the purpose of Robin, specifically that he acts as a moral compass for Bruce. I also wanted to look at the old “Bruce Wayne is rich why can’t he just fix Gotham without spending all his money on being Batman???” thing that pops up from some people. Here Bruce does that a bit too much to the point where he starts making horrible decisions that might even be against his ethical code just because he thinks he can solve the city’s problems as Bruce Wayne.]

· Dr. Karl Hellfern, who works at Arkham, starts a breakout.

· Batman arrives at the scene to put down the riot; Robin and Batgirl arrive to help.

· During a part of the fight, Robin is pinned by one of the prisoners; Batman sees this from across the room and panics, his eyes going wide; the room seems to go to slow motion as Batman reaches for a batarang to save Robin; however, Robin breaks free of the prisoner and knocks him out; Bruce calms himself down.

· Batman remarks that Barbara should not be there, threatens to tell her father.

· Bruce gets a good look at a hidden symbol inside of Arkham that feels oddly familiar to him.

· The breakout is stopped, but Hellfern is nowhere to be found.

· Dr. Quinzel and warden Robert Chrichton react angrily to Batman being at Arkham.

· Bruce returns to the Batcave; gets upset with Dick for going out saying that he is not ready yet to handle criminals like those at Arkham, and that he should never have let Barbara suit up.

· Dick responds by saying that Bruce needs to trust them more, and that he is ready to handle a bigger role.

· Bruce responds by reminding Dick that he overstepped his place by letting Barbara suit up and that trust must be earned, and Dick storms out.

· Alfred tells Bruce to take it easy on Dick; Bruce says that

In your opinion, what were the most "canonical" decisions to make? (Part 1)

I don't think anyone else made a post like this, but if they did I apologize. I did a search and didn't turn up anything so, here we go. I'm curious to hear all of your opinions about what the most "canonical" decisions were regarding Batman's personality and what decision he might actually make if faced with such a decision in the comics (or, if you prefer, the animated series). Also, did you guys make choices based on what you believed Batman would do or what you would actually do? Or perhaps you based your decisions on something else entirely (like a desired end result)? Here's my personal list regarding the biggest decisions of each episode within season 1:

S1E1: Not much happens here, but I believe Bruce Wayne would be cordial with Falcone without totally sucking up to him either and he would insist on Harvey being in the room with him. Also, Batman wouldn't impale Falcone because even if he hates him it seems just a tad too brutal. Batman will beat the shit out of people and make them piss their pants in fear, but impaling someone is going a bit far imo. He'd also probably give the info to Gordon since he trusts him more.

S1E2: I believe Batman would give Falcone the morphine as he's not the type to needlessly torture another. He'll hurt someone for information, but generally speaking he's not the type to just hurt someone out of anger (unless he's royally pissed off). I also see Bruce attempting to kiss Selina (the first of many) and choosing to confront Mayor Hill as Batman because using his Bruce Wayne persona seems not only less efficient but also could damage his reputation or cause other problems. Lastly I think he would save Catwoman instead of Harvey since he has a crush on her and canonically Harvey has half his face burned.

S1E3: Batman would probably save Montoya first, deeming her to be in more imminent danger and also because she's a woman. Not that Batman is sexist and thinks women can't fend for themselves, but it does seem like in the comics and animated series he has a tendency to rescue women first? Then he rescues the men. I'm torn on whether Bruce would punch Oswald or not for breaking the case with his pocket watch from Alfred in it (and possibly the pocket watch itself too since a fall like that could damage the inner mechanism). On the one hand he always tries to keep his cool as Bruce Wayne, on the other hand I could see him losing his temper too since Alfred is basically his adoptive father and the only family he has. Bru

My DCEU Part 3 (Batman Series Part 2.3)

(Link to 2.2: https://www.reddit.com/r/fixingmovies/comments/s07oqn/my_dceu_part_3_batman_series_part_22/)

[Title should be Part 2, made a mistake my bad]

7. Shadow of the Batman

· Based on Mask of the Phantasm and Under the Red Hood movies [easily my favorite animated movies].

· [Idea of the creeping shadow; Bruce feels something sinister creeping up to engulf him. Bruce gets lulled into a false sense of safety. he feels as if everything in his life is strangely good. But then Bruce is reminded of his greatest failure till now. He will have to come to the realization that he can never have something resembling a happier life due to his pain, trauma and ultimately his commitment to his crusade].

· [Ok let’s talk about the Joker. While this Joker is the one that Heath Ledger played, it would not necessarily be the same one (this will be apparent a bit I hope in the writing). What the Joker will be doing in this movie is: 1) rebuilding his operations; 2) understand how Batman and the city have changed. Since their last encounter, Batman has stepped up to become more of a hero and less of the yin to Harvey Dent’s ‘white knight’/yang. So the Joker will see how Batman has changed, which will spur himself to change over the rest of the movie series)].

· Batman and Robin break up a drug deal; one of the suspects, Chuckie Sol, escapes to a parking lot, and is murdered by a hooded killer who wears a skull mask and uses smoke.

· Dick and Bruce go back to the cave and talk about the killer.

· Bruce talks about his life at the moment, Dick remarks that everything seems to be going well on the streets, as violent crime (aside from this new murder) seems to be relatively down.

· Bruce lingers on a picture of Rachel and is somewhat depressed and leaves the room.

· Alfred remarks to Dick that the anniversary of her death always makes Bruce a bit uneasy.
