I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Since multiple test screenings have already taken place for The Batman, with ViewerAnon being a primary source of credible info related to them via tweets and reddit comments, we felt that the time had come to create a central updatable thread to track all their claims to date. This reduces the fragmentation that would come with approving multiple posts on minor plot points and provides a primary space for discussion on VA's claims.

Please direct all claims to the comments so this thread can be kept accordingly up-to-date (barring a full plot leak or any particularly notable info, which will be approved as their own posts on a case-by-case basis). If there are any points that have been missed, just let us know.

Note: Whilst VA is considered a more reliable source than average when it comes to test screening-related info, as with any source, do not take their word as gospel and exercise due scrutiny (whilst also remaining respectful!).

General plot points

• The Batman is "a nearly three hour long detective story" and "full blown noir film"

I'm surprised it hasn't decade.

[Reposting this again. I'm new to reddit posting so I made a few mistakes with formatting and wanted to fix it this time.]

Ok let’s take it from the top:

I really really love DC comics: the stories, characters, the world, everything.

And the DCEU is just a mess. So, like anyone with too much time on their hands I decided to write one myself. Honestly this sub is amazing, and it has really helped me with ideas and creativity. I know that this is just another DCEU thing but I just love these characters so much that this became a fun passion project for me.

Couple of things:

1. Not all of these movie ideas are mine. I am not nearly dumb enough to think I am smarter than so many incredible fans and creators. Honestly, its pretty remarkable how many great ideas and projects fans have created, as well as the amazing ideas that come from existing DC media such as animated series and movies. Obviously much of this work is mine, but a lot of the basis for these ideas and specifics are from others. I guess my best creative talent is as an accumulator and organizer, taking notes and putting them into a singular narrative structure. I dunno. Regardless, I made sure to include links and references to those creators to make sure that you could find their work and give them the recognition that they deserve more than me.
2. I am constantly changing these outlines all the time so I really would like to know any feedback about how I can improve these things.
3. I use square brackets. They are just notes for clarity or my thoughts about certain things.

Alright, now that that's out of the way, let's get started with the first stage of this:

Batman will have nine movies in total plus some spinoffs. It's really cliché to say this but Batman is my favorite comic character and think the character deserves a truly epic and long franchise. The way I see it, the Batman movies would be released at the same time as other DC movies, but they take place in a different time within the same universe. Basically, the movies would tell the story from Batman’s origin all the way to his re-emergence in my version of Batman v Superman.

Ok time for section two (will be three posts due to character limits). This section is structured to reflect Bruce’s traumas regarding losing his family and whether he can still have a family despite all his pain.

Specifically, this part of the series introduces allies, the most prominent being Dick Grayson as Robin. I love the Robins and consider them critical aspects to Batman stories. The fact that we have had so many great Batman movies but have yet to have a Batman movie with a proper adaptation of Robin is kind of disappointing to a degree. If there is one hope I have for the upcoming Robert Pattinson movie series, it’s that they introduce some sort of version of Robin and show audiences how important he can be to Bruce’s story [btw Dick Grayson in my stories would be in his mid teens when he is adopted by Bruce].

Now, some of these movies have “twists” which probably any Batman fan could spot from a mile away. But I am not nearly smart enough to have different twists lol.

Also: I stink at making titles so take that in mind if some seem very cringy lol.

Last note: I would like to stress that these movies would NOT be like the Nolanverse. Each section would have a different director and style. These movie pitches are not meant to be an extension of the Nolanverse. These pitches are just my own fun little what if where the story points from that trilogy are extended but with a different style of filmmaking, direction, whatever. I just think it could be interesting to see multiple directors taking on a Batman series, but a series in which the basic plots carry over. I know this might not be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s fine. Being fans means that there is a wide range of opinions and that’s what makes fandoms so amazing in my opinion.

Now let’s get into it:

4. Batman: Silent Knight

· Based on comic/movie Batman: Hush (with some influences from Batman Forever**’s extended version which deals with Bruce’s trauma from his parents’ murder).**

· [This movie is about Bruce feeling the effects of being so alone in his crusade and falling into a darker place of exacting justice. He also is annoyed that his name is being ruined by his carefree playboy image. Sure, when he was younger it didn’t bother him. B

7. Shadow of the Batman

· Based on Mask of the Phantasm and Under the Red Hood movies [easily my favorite animated movies].

· [Idea of the creeping shadow; Bruce feels something sinister creeping up to engulf him. Bruce gets lulled into a false sense of safety. he feels as if everything in his life is strangely good. But then Bruce is reminded of his greatest failure till now. He will have to come to the realization that he can never have something resembling a happier life due to his pain, trauma and ultimately his commitment to his crusade].

· [Ok let’s talk about the Joker. While this Joker is the one that Heath Ledger played, it would not necessarily be the same one (this will be apparent a bit I hope in the writing). What the Joker will be doing in this movie is: 1) rebuilding his operations; 2) understand how Batman and the city have changed. Since their last encounter, Batman has stepped up to become more of a hero and less of the yin to Harvey Dent’s ‘white knight’/yang. So the Joker will see how Batman has changed, which will spur himself to change over the rest of the movie series)].

· Batman and Robin break up a drug deal; one of the suspects, Chuckie Sol, escapes to a parking lot, and is murdered by a hooded killer who wears a skull mask and uses smoke.

· Dick and Bruce go back to the cave and talk about the killer.

· Bruce talks about his life at the moment, Dick remarks that everything seems to be going well on the streets, as violent crime (aside from this new murder) seems to be relatively down.

· Bruce lingers on a picture of Rachel and is somewhat depressed and leaves the room.

· Alfred remarks to Dick that the anniversary of her death always makes Bruce a bit uneasy.

· The smoke killer murders another criminal named Buzz Bronski who was visiting Sol’s grave.

· Batman and Robin investigate the cemetery, Batman sees a woman visiting a grave and leaving flowers; Bruce gets flashbacks to his parents’ and Rachel’s funerals; the woman looks to see Batman staring at Rachel’s cemetery (Bruce cannot see the person since its raining hard).

· An old gang leader, Salvatore “The Wheezer” Valestra, panics at seeing the two murdered men
