Crytek and Renowned Filmmaker Albert Hughes Announce "The 7 Wonders of Crysis 3" Cinematic Video Series
Famed Director Set to Unveil the Secrets of New York City's Urban Rainforest in Crysis 3, the Premiere Sandbox Shooter Coming February 19, 2013
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) and award-winning developer Crytek GmbH today announced a creative partnership with renowned filmmaker Albert Hughes to produce an online video series inspired by the upcoming sandbox shooter, Crysis 3. Entitled, "The 7 Wonders of Crysis 3", this cinematic series will set the stage for this latest installment in the Crysis series and introduce weapons, enemies, and gameplay features new to the franchise. These cinematic shorts will also showcase the stunning visuals, dynamic environments of the urban rainforest and intense adaptive warfare fans can expect when Crysis 3 ships on February 19, 2013 in North America and on February 21 in Europe.

"When EA and Crytek approached me about being involved in creating โThe 7 Wonders of Crysis 3' video series, I liked the idea of creating emotional stories using only computer generated images," stated Albert Hughes. "The challenge of producing something intensely human without ever seeing a human on screen was incredibly compelling, and the technology of the CryENGINE that Crytek developed enabled me to do that and venture into a completely unique medium of storytelling."
At 20 years old, filmmaker Albert Hughes shot to stardom when he and his twin brother, Allen, wrote and directed the seminal film, Menace II Society. Albert then went on to co-direct such critically-acclaimed films including Dead Presidents, From Hell and Book of Eli. For "The 7 Wonders of Crysis 3" video series, Albert was intimately involved with the development team at Crytek, writing the scripts, storyboards and shot plan for each video that was created entirely using in-game assets powered by Crytek's revolutionary CryENGINEยฎ 3 technology.
"The goal with โThe 7 Wonders of Crysis 3' video series is to reveal the incredible world we have been building for Crysis 3 and to let CryENGINE take center stage to highlight the power of our state-of-the-art game engine," said Cevat Yerli, Chief Executive Officer of Crytek. "We've worked closely with Albert on this project and think that the 7 Wonders series will show the leaps and bounds that Crysis 3 is making over its predeces

I tried to expand my top 100 players and rank every survivor player ever through gameplay. They where split into tiers which contained multiple subgroups in them, which is what the spaces inbetween represent. Any player from the Subgroup is interchangeable with any other player in that subgroup as they are close in ability and I am Indecisive. (the exception is Tony, Parvati and Kim which are in the order listed). I Tried to consider both Proven feats and Natural survivor abilities. Obviously I don't remember every pre-merge player, particually from early seasons, so players might be out of order a bit.

>The Wings
The wings help us to individualize the nine (more general) types of the Enneagram. Each wing is a subtype of the general type. Knowing the wing enables us to narrow down the issues that we must face oh the spiritual path.
Because the nine types are arranged around a circle, no matter what your basic type, you will have a type on each side of it. One of these two types will be your wing. The wing modifies and blends with the basic type and highlights certain tendencies in it. For example, if your basic type is Nine, you will have either an Eight-wing or a One-wing.
No one is a pure type, and in some cases, we also find Nines with both wings. Most people, however, have one dominant wing.
Taking the dominant wing into consideration produces a unique subtype that is recognizable in daily life. For instance, when we look at Sevens in the real world, we see that there are Sevens with an Eight-wing and Sevens with a Six-wing. Each of these two different wing subtypes has a very different flavor. All of the type and wing combinations yield eighteen wing subtypes, with two for each type. They are each described in their respective type chapters.
It may help you to think of individual differences by picturing the circumference of the Enneagram as a color wheel that gives the full range of available colors.
The types can therefore be thought of as a family of related shades. Indicating that someone is a Six, for example, would be the equivalent of saying that they are in the "blue family." While we might not have a precise notion about what exact shade of blue is being referred to (teal, navy blue, sky blue, indigo, powder blue, and so forth), we certainly know the difference between blue and red, or between blue and orange, for instance.
This way of looking at the types shows us that there is a continuum of human expression, just as there is a continuum on the color spectrum. There are no real divisions between the varieties of personality types, just as there are none between the colors of the rainbow. Individual differences are as unique as different shades, hues, and intensities of color. The nine points on the Enneagram are simply "family names" that we use t

DuchessVonD (u/jtjdp) Presents:
To my morphinan cousins of the Dextrorotatory Persuasion:
As many of you are aware, DXM and its fellow dextro-(-) congeners in the tetracyclic morphinan series are the non-narcotic mirror-image isomers of a series of some very fascinating but mostly unexplored opioids.
The N-aralkyl (2-furyl and 2-thienyl) morphinans are technically legal and unregulated according to the UN Convention on Psychotropics. The high-yielding synthesis that I present in this monograph involves legal intermediates, and precursors. This has many advantages included greater yield and does not involve the controlled intermediates (i.e. N-norlevorphanol) commonly encountered in the dated morphinan literature. The starting precursor, a 1-benzyl-OHIQ, known in the industry as octabase, is available as the d,l-racemate and as individual dextro-(+)- and levo-(-)- enantiomers. As it is the commercial starting material for industrial DXM manufacture, octabase is readily available and very affordable.
The investigation into these obscure (and often legal) little-explored corners of the opioverse is my favorite hobby. In fact, while I was being a breaking baddie (and a batshitty bitty), I did so commercially. I still enjoy dwelling and exploring the far corners of the obscure world of exotic psychoactive analogues. Iโve given the opioidergic-members of this cult, a quaint title: the Cryptopioids
I typically post my alchemical musings on opioid specific forums. But I believe that our shared passion for morphinanity reaches out through the mirror of stereoinversion and unites us in a racemic dance(mix) of merry morphi-men and women.
Join me for the introductory episode of:
The predominating theme in the morphinans (i.e. DXM/levorphanol) and the 4,5-epoxymorphinans (l-Morphine/d-morphine = frankenphine; d-Thebaine = aka: Frakenbaine) is that the opioid activity resides in the levo-(-)-enantiomer, while the non-opioid effectsโincluding NMDA-antagonism, antitussiveโare mediated thru the dextro-(+). As we will find out, esp in the N-methyl derivs like levorphanol, DXM, and dextrorphan, there is a good deal of stereo-crossover in the area of NMDA-antagonism. We

There are at least 30 current and former All-Stars, 4 MVPs and several future hall-of-famers in this class (and that doesn't include veterans nearing retirement like Molina and Pujols).
There are at least two players available at every position (and in most cases, several more) that can make a legitimate argument for top 10 at their position, except catcher (assuming Posey and Zunino have their options exercised).
That includes: Kershaw, Syndergaard, Verlander, Scherzer, Bauer (opt out), Gausman, Rodon, Lynn, Stroman and Greinke in the rotation. Freeman, Rizzo and Belt at first base. Semien and Taylor at second base. Bryant, Arenado (opt out) and Escobar at third base. Correa, Seager, Story, Baez and Crawford at shortstop. Castellanos, Schwarber, Conforto, Marte and Canha in the outfield. Barnes, Jansen, Kimbrel (team option), Ottavino, McHugh, Loup, Melancon, Yates, Rosenthal and Hand in the bullpen.
I've made a list below of most of the prominent free agents hitting the market this winter. There are a good 50-100 names that I didn't include as the list was already long and the remaining players are mostly depth plays.
Asterisks signify that the player will only reach the market if they exercise an opt out or a team option is declined. Among the four on the first list, Martinez and Castellanos are almost guaranteed to exercise their opt outs, while Bauer and Arenado will likely wait till next year when they aren't up against the greatest free agent class of all time.

Almost to nobody's surprise, we get the part 2 of the banners.
Featuring the man with a short fuse that's as short as some of our Jewel stash after this.
Oh dear part 2.
Overall, I think there are pretty good specialists in the banner but it lacks generalists.
Style | Role | Weapon/Stat | AUTO/Manual? | Need other styles? |
---|---|---|---|---|
SS Fuse | ST Strike DPS/Side Support | Guns/DEX | Hybrid | Iffy |
SS Doll | ST Strike DPS/KO&STR Jammer | Guns&Shadow/DEX&INT | Manual | N/A |
SS Cotton | Provoke/Regen Tank | MA/AGI&STR | AUTO | N/A |
Man, there are really a lot of Strike users here.
Overall, I think Fuse is definitely the best of the three, but Doll and Cotton do have perks also personally.
Doll is a huge specialist that has a weirdly loose kit that doesn't mesh too well.
Cotton is a good tanking provoke kit with a 1-5BP HP self-healing kit.
Do I think the banner is worth over Matriarch and Jo? Not really.
Matriarch generally has such a strong specialization that she ends up almost being a staple in almost every Manual fight.
If you think the other variants can do well, forget it. That skill 1 on the upcoming 1.5Y Anniversary variant is still the skill that defines her if anything.
For Jo, I think it depends on whether you want a turn 1 Fast nuker or a delayed Fast nuker. Jo just is better as a generalist, being able to be used in much more situations. The funny part is that you definitely will want Jo (or Barthelemy) around if you do pull for Fuse.
Do I think Fuse is bad? No. He still can probably outdo Roufas unironically if his coin flip works to his favor, but I also think he's insanely high-risk-high-reward as it can ever get as a style.
His Global changes makes him less risky in general by removing the Charge mechanic, but it comes with the cost of his niche being less powerful in general.

Last spring, after the world saw the video of the murder of George Floyd, few Americans could turn an oblivious eye to the racism and violence that are part of the brutal, inhuman legacy of slavery. Coincidentally, as protesters demanding justice packed the streets, William Faulkner rode into town, the subject of two major studies: Carl Rollysonโs massive, well-researched two-volume biography and Michael Gorraโs eloquent analysis of how the Civil War ricochets throughout his best-known novels.
Of course, Faulkner hasnโt been neglected: there are at least a dozen major biographies and countless scholarly studies, essays, and dissertations. Heโs a veritable cottage industry. But these new books remind us that we seem always to be trying to solve Faulkner, as if he were a riddle. For there are competing and not always compatible Faulkners: the modernist Faulkner is an experimentalist respected internationally by filmmakers like Jean-Luc Godard and writers like Gabriel Garcรญa Mรกrquez and Edouard Glissant who admire his lush, long sentences, accumulating modifiers and self-correcting syntaxโall the ways he conveys consciousness in dialogue with itself. In 1945 Jean-Paul Sartre said that for young people in France, โFaulkner cโest un dieu.โ
Then thereโs the humanistic Faulkner who declared, when accepting the Nobel Prize in literature in 1950, that we possess โa spirit capable of compassion and sacrifice and endurance,โ that we will not and cannot perish because of that spirit, and that โthe poetโs, the writerโs, duty is to write about these things.โ Critics nodded approvingly, calling him an American Balzac who created a human comedy out of the hamlets and backwoods of Mississippi, the American who had absorbed John Donne and Dickens as well as Cervantes and Conrad and the Bible. โWith Faulkner, the big picture is everything,โ Edmund Wilson praised him. โHe went out on every limb,โ Eudora Welty said, โthat he knew was there.โ
Thereโs also the compromised, morally suspect Faulkner who, in 1956, announced he was as opposed to compulsory integration as he had been to compulsory segregation. The occasion was the attempt of Autherine Lucy, a young Black woman, to enroll at the University of Alabama. Riots broke out and she was asked to leave the school; later she was expelled. But Faulkner said that on the matter of integration he would advise the NAACP, which had taken up Lucyโs case, to โgo slow now.โ As he further explained to Russell Warren Howe of the London

... keep reading on reddit โกA golden oldie (1993), rated 7.5 on IMDB. The directional debut of the Hughes Brothers (Albert & Allen Hughes, the latter also directed "The Book of Eli"). The hood movie that influenced plenty rap songs, almost starred 2Pac as the protagonist (until he assaulted the director) and features a young Jada Pinkett (Smith).
The story is set in 1993 Watts, Los Angeles and follows Caine (Tyrin Turner): a young black male who is growing up in a wrong environment. He is about to graduate high school but hangs with the wrong people. What will he make of life?
Although it is a cult classic, I have not seen anyone talk about this movie here on Reddit. I enjoyed the movie, and think it deserves more views. So if you are into Crime/Hood/Mafia movies: Enjoy!

Introduction
It's sometimes hard to know whether or not it's worth doing a Bad History post for historical fiction. Characters are often entirely fictional, authors often weave well known myths into their story, and there's often new academic scholarship that invalidates the more accessible sources authors general have access to. I generally try to make allowances for authors who may not have the experience with academic books or who have attempted to read widely but have missed a text that completely changed the understanding of a battle or a campaign, and sometimes the conflicting sources mean that the authors have a different perspective or interpretation to me.
Griff Hosker's Sir John Hawkwood series, starting with Crecy: The Age of the Archer, is not one of these series. Hosker is a prolific author of historical fiction, with something like 136 books published since 2011, and from the three books of his I've read he's managed to distill the essence of a historical fiction book down into the bare essence. Based on a comment on his Facebook page, he generally spreads the research, writing and editing process over the course of six months, but the research process itself is generally less than two months.
The relatively short writing period and very short research period is pretty clearly reflected in the contents of Crecy: The Age of the Archer and Man at Arms, the two books published so far in his series on John Hawkwood. As with his Lord Edward's Archer series, the books in his bibliography are all from Osprey and, although there are elements in the books that suggest he has glanced at Jonathan Sumption's Hundred Years War, the overall quality of the history is reflective of the over-reliance on Osprey^1 .
Nowhere is this more obvious than the exclusion of any biography about John Hawkwood. I don't mean that Hosker relies on an outdated biography, like John Temple-Leader's 1888 biography^2 , I mean that he hasn't used any biography. Not Temple-Leader, not Frances Stonor Saunders' colourful but competent 2004 pop-history^3 , and definitely not William Caferro's magnificent 2006 academic biography^4 . That means that Hosker gets important facts wrong right from the very start of his book, and that continues all the way through. The omission of any biography, and apparently no attempt to learn about Hawkwood's early life, is why I'm writing this post.

Go post NSFW jokes somewhere else. If I can't tell my kids this joke, then it is not a DAD JOKE.
If you feel it's appropriate to share NSFW jokes with your kids, that's on you. But a real, true dad joke should work for anyone's kid.
Mods... If you exist... Please, stop this madness. Rule #6 should simply not allow NSFW or (wtf) NSFL tags. Also, remember that MINORS browse this subreddit too? Why put that in rule #6, then allow NSFW???
Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.
Thank you,
A Dad.
