fHey everyone, I hope you're doing well. Please stay safe and enjoy the Holidays.
The very first 'Top 101 wrestlers ranked by the average of their Top 10 Singles matches on Cagematch.net' post was made on August 25th 2020, and this post is a 'End of 2021 Update' with 172 pro-wrestlers on it.
There's 23 new wrestlers on the list after this month's update, 560 total.
Here they are (it's a fucking wild list this month lol):
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
I'm looking for literature that aims to cram as much weird imaginative setting, lore, idea, thematic, symbolic, and just plain mindfuck stuff into a single text, creating the literary version of horror vacui. Those sort of books where I can just sink and immerse into an alternate existence created solely from the imagination where all history, philosophy, psychology, politics, science, sociology is taken to extremes of creativity. I'm also not looking for those sort of stream-of-consciousness works which can be dense and full of ideas but are mainly limited to exploring a non-speculative setting or a character's psychology (e.g. Ulysses, Under the Volcano or William Gass' The Tunnel). I feel like I've searched a huge chunk of media available in English for works of this vein and can't find any more examples of creators who might fit the bill, which has let me to start thinking about scouring through other languages.
Below are a bunch of creators that might capture aspects of what I have in mind. Also doubles as a list of creators I already know of which I don't need recommended (the list is non-exhaustive of course).
Experimental writers, Atmospheric writers or Postmodernists: Pynchon, David Foster Wallace, Nabokov, Robert Anton Wilson, Donald Barthelme, John Barth, Joseph McElroy, Borges,Richard Powers, Alasdair Gray, David Mitchell, William Burroughs, Victor Pelevin, Anna Kavan, Italo Calvino, Vladimir Sorokin, Evan Dara, Umberto Eco, Cormac McCarthy, Rikki Ducornet, Angela Carter, Don Delilo, Roberto Bolano, Mark Z. Danielewski
New Weird: China Mieville, Michael Cisco, Jeff Vandermeer
Extremely Dense, Imaginative or Atmospheric SF/F: Stanislaw Lem, Greg Egan, Olaf Stapledon, William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, Gene Wolfe, M John Harrison, Samuel Delany, Project Itoh, Peter Watts, JG Ballard, Mervyn Peake, Bruce Sterling, Terry Pratchett, Philip K Dick, Jacek Dukaj, Marek Huberath, Ursula K Leguin, Susanna Clarke, Greg Bear, Cordwainer Smith, R. A. Lafferty, James Tiptree Jr, All Tomorrows, The Vorrh Trilogy by B. Catling
Japanese writers: Haruki Murakami, Ryu Murakami, Numa Shouzo, Yasutaka Tsutsui, Kobo Abe, Yumeno Kyusaku, Nisio Isin, Maijou Otarou, Dempow Torishima, Mariko Ohara, Ryu Mitsuse

With Minoru Suzuki currently generating a ton of attention and headlines with his current tour of the U.S., I figured it would be a cool idea to share some matches from a time in Suzuki's career that doesn't get discussed much. We all know about his work in Pancrase and beyond at this point, but the early years often get overlooked. This might be because those matches are hard to find unless you know where to look. I've compiled some of them for this list, which I think features some of Suzuki's best work from his pre-Pancrase days. Feel free to share your thoughts.
As you might have guessed, Suzuki has always been a loyal student of Karl Gotch. He joined the UWF/shoot-style revolution pretty early on as a young lion in the NJPW dojo and made the move to UWF Newborn after it was launched in 1988 with another NJPW young lion in Masakatsu Funaki. His career from that point has always embraced the more combative side of professional wrestling. He spent two years in UWF Newborn before making his last pre-Pancrase pitstop in Pro-Wrestling Fujiwara Gumi, the promotion Yoshiaki Fujiwara founded after UWF Newborn collapsed.
UWF Newborn
UWF Newborn was the second iteration of the UWF (Universal Wrestling Federation) concept in Japan. I don't want to ramble on too much here, but basically, the first UWF was founded in 1984 with Satoru Sayama (the original Tiger Mask) leading an exodus from NJPW for a variety of political reasons. With the likes of Nobuhiko Takada, Akira Maeda, Yoshiaki Fujiwara, and a few others in tow, the promotion embraced the early form of "shoot-style" wrestling, which was meant to make professional wrestling look like a legitimate contest. People often confuse shoot-style with MMA. While shoot-style did look like early MMA as it evolved, especially in the 90s, the intention was never to be like MMA. MMA, at least to them, was already embedded with professional wrestling with Inoki doing a bunch of mixed bouts in the 70s. This is where they got their idea from, they just wanted to take things further. After a brief return to NJPW from 86-88, the UWF group went back and re-founded UWF with a new group of wrestlers. The UWF ruleset included a point system based on knockdowns and rope escapes, and pinfalls were allowed. Finishes often were based on submissions.

We start PRIDE After Dark hot, with a tag team match between two of the most skilled tag teams in PRIDE today, as Roppongi 3K and the Usos collide. The Usos practically run the first half of this match, successfully isolating YOH and working over his leg for the entirety of this first half of the match. However, once YOH is able to reverse an Uso Splash by rolling out of the way, heโs able to make the hot tag to SHO, who comes in like a bat out of hell and is able to even things up. SHOโs hot streak comes to a close near the end of the match when he runs directly into a Double Superkick from the Usos, however, nearly putting him out to pasture if it wasnโt for his valiant heart. Eventually, we see Jimmy Uso take to the skies for another Uso Splash attemptโฆ BUT SHO GETS THE KNEES UP! Jey attempts to jump on SHO and get the advantage back for his team now, BUT ITโS SHO WITH THE SUPERKICK INTO THE SPEAR TO TAKE JEY OUT!!! SHO tags YOH in now, the two men hoisting Jimmy back to his feet FOR THE 3K!!! YOH COVERS JIMMYโฆ ONEโฆ TWOโฆ THREE!!! ROPPONGI 3K WALK AWAY WITH THE HUGE UPSET VICTORY!!!
Roppongi 3K def. The Usos in 13:44
After Roppongi 3Kโs victory, we get a brief video promo from Drew Gulak, as he goes over last weekโs win that he got against Sean Maluta. Breaking down every single hold and submission that he used to keep Maluta grounded, Gulak announces that heโll be back next week with another dominant performance.
Bayley vs. Kiera Hogan
Up next, weโve got a match pitting Bayley against Kiera Hogan. Bayley seems to be looking to carve out her own singles career after what was apparently a split from Sasha Banks last week, and sheโs got herself a good opponent to kick things off against. This match runs for about three minutes, with Bayley dominating the entire match before eventually landing a Bayley to Belly to get the win over Hogan.
Bayley def. Kiera Hogan in 3:03
Dragon Lee vs. Fuego Del Sol
After Bayleyโs win over Kiera Hogan, weโre treated to a match between Dragon Lee and Fuego Del Sol. Dragon Lee most recently found himself on the losing end of a TV Title match with Zack Sabre Jr., the man who he also lost to during the Television Championship gauntlet. Here, heโs given a chance to bounce back from said loss, which he does so after pinning Fuego Del Sol following a brutal Bicycle Knee Strike, giving him the win in less than two minu

BamBOO!

Hey everyone, I hope you're doing well.
In the last update I wrote that I wouldn't do an 'End of November Update', but things have changed and I made an update, even though I'm posting it a little late this time.
I also added a [number] in "Average 'Total Rating' of Matches #11-20" column after a Rating itself, which is a place on that List.
Shinsuke Nakamura is #11 in Top 10, but only #22 on #11-20, while Zack Sabre Jr. is #25 on Top 10, he's #13 (!) on #11-20.
Chris Hero is also surprisingly high on #11-20 Matches List compared to List of Top 10 Matches, and Aja Kong's drop off only tells me that her Matchguide is incomplete and there are matches that simply don't have a rating (number). There's a good amount of ratings on #11-20 List that made me raise me eyebrow and become interested to watch some old/obscure matches.
I also increased amount of wrestlers on this list from 167 to 172 because the number of wrestlers that have 10 Rated Singles Matches on CAGEMATCH.net continues to grow. Now it's 537 [+10 this month] of them.
Not every wrestler that is in Top 172 on Top 10 Rated Singles Matches List is in Top 172 on #11-20 List.
Some wrestlers don't even have 20 Rated Singles Matches like Antonio Inoki, Akira Hokuto, Nobuhiko Takada, 'Dr. Death' Steve Williams, Jun Kasai, BxB Hulk etc, which is another reason to contribute to CAGEMATCH Matchguide, which always is in state of 'Work in Progress'.
Wrestler | Average 'Total Rating' of Top 10 Matches | +/- in Average 'Total Rating' of Top 10 Matches since November 1st | +/- places since November 1st, and placement on the November 1st List | Average 'Total Rating' of Matches #11-20 |
