TIL that the Akashi Kaikyō suspension bridge in Japan experienced a 7.2 magnitude earthquake whilst still under construction. The resulting ground shift pushed the bridge's two supporting towers apart meaning an extra 1m had to be added to the main span, which is currently the longest in the world. youtube.com/watch?v=FuWM6…

Me and a friend of mine are wondering what as foreign travelers we can do at the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge in Kobe. Is there any short distance fairies that go under or a round the bridge?
I also noticed a that the bridge does tours that include ascending to the top of the tower. I am wondering if these tours are somewhat foreigner friendly in the sense that we could follow the group but unless we know Japanese we won't get any information. I'm pretty sure the answer is no to the second one, considering the form you have to fax but am still curious if there is still a chance.
