The success of a movie mostly depends on having a healthy mix of the right ingredients required to make a good movie. The heart of the movie is its story, the soul is its music, the brain is the director, the actor and crew represent the bones, muscles, clothes etc that make the body work and look good. Not all ingredients are equal and sometimes even one dominating feature like a superstar or great music is enough to get fans hooked to the film and make it a success. There are also times when you have great ingredients but the audience may not be ready to appreciate the taste yet. Such movies stumble at the start but over time manage to catch up and become cult classics. Then there are movies which are made just for the sake of making movies and some money. They hit the silver screen without any expectations and usually fade away silently into the night. Very few become those rare sleeper hits which come out of the blue when the ingredients are good but not famous yet. And finally there are those mind boggling duds with all the right ingredients that fans eagerly look forward to but somehow when put together they become a painful experience that leaves its audience scarred for life. Here is my first set of reviews of some of the most highly anticipated movies, which appeared to have everything required to make them shine but the stink of their underwhelming quality will haunt us forever.
Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag - A remake of one of Indiaβs greatest entertainers βSholayβ with the original's lead Big B cast to play the Iconic villain βGabbar (Babban) Singhβ in an epic showdown against Mohanlal, one of South Indiaβs finest actors of all time and directed by one of the pioneers of New Age Indian Cinema, the hitmaker behind βShivaβ, βRangeelaβ, βSatyaβ, βKaunβ, βCompanyβ, βBhootβ and βSarkarβ. What could possibly go wrong? The answer - Everything. Not only was it a βNuclear Bombβ at the box office that absolutely obliterated Bollywoodβs greatest film, but one of the worst reviewed movies of all time with an IMDB rating of 1.6/10 and 9% on rotten tomatoes. It was awarded βLifetimeβs worst ever movieβ by Hindustan Times and even British magazine βTotal Filmβ included it (The only Indian movie) in the worst movies of all time across the globe. Big B eventually acknowledged remaking Sholay was a mistake. My view on the debacle known as RGV Ki Aag is the butchering of its heart - the story. βSholayβ was a beautifully written story with so many well rounded cha

Just because someone is famous, does that give them the right to violate the rules?
There have been multiple instances where it has been said that we target Bollywood, but letβs not talk about opinions letβs talk about facts and more importantly statistics. In the last year we have booked a total of 105 cases in 10 months. Thatβs an average of 10-12 cases every month. Now you tell me, out of those 105 cases, how many are celebrities? Today the media is playing up Aryan Khan's story but Just 2 days ago we seized Rs 5 crores worth of drugs and no media house in country wrote about it.
End of the day we are just doing our job. We are enforcing rules and those rules are the same for everyone. They are equal for everybody, so why should we let celebrities, who donβt follow those rules walk away scot free? Just because they are famous? Does that give them the right to violate the rules? so If we see a famous person breaking the law, we shouldnβt do anything about it? should i only run after the normal drug peddlers and conduct operations and raids only in slums? It canβt be like that
When we arrest someone the media will only play it up only when the arrested person is a well known face. But instead of appreciating our efforts we get blamed for targeting that popular celeb. The media only writes about the NCB when a big name is involved in our case. So everyone who looks at us feels that we only go after big names and it looks like weβre targeting them but thatβs not the case at all. The big names are just a very small fraction of the people we end up apprehending.
Sameer Wankhede is a 2008 Batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer who is married to Marathi actress Kranti Redkar who has worked with actor Ajay Devgn in his 2003 film Gangajal. While working as Customs Officer at the Mumbai airport his team managed to seize drugs worth Rs 17,000 crore over 2 years. As IRS Officer, Sameer Wankhede has booked more than 2,000 celebrities for not paying the taxes. During his high-profile career Wankhede caught singer Mika Singh at the Mumbai airport with foreign currency in 2013 and raided properties owned by many Bollywood celebs like Anurag Kashyap, Vivek Oberoi and Ram Gopal Varma. In 2011 when serving in the Customs department, Sameer Wankhede ensured that even the Cricket World Cup trophy made of gold was released at the Mumbai airport only after custom duty was paid.
Those who have worked with him describe Wankhede as a fearless, disciplined man with a n

Obviously a really good film but he was doing Lakshya instead at that time, which is another great film. So I wouldn't really blame him for letting this go if he had to choose just one of these two.
Hrithik was offered Zayed Khan's role. I would say this may have worked for him in 2001 during K3G times but by 2004, he was too big of a star to play second fiddle to Shah Rukh Khan. If the script had Shah Rukh Khan as 1A and Hrithik as 1B, it may have worked but Shah Rukh's character was clearly the primary protagonist and Zayed's character was also behind Sunil Shetty and Amrita Rao's characters in terms of importance to the plot. Right decision in passing this, I would say.
I think he could have and should have done this considering that he took a long break between Lakshya and Krrish. It was a fun and successful film and he did have really good on-screen chemistry with Rani Mukherji as well. This was around the time when he decided he would do fewer films and be very selective with his choices.
Hrithik was the first choice for Akshaye Khanna's character. Obviously, this movie is a classic and it would have being a part of it would have been a really nice feather in his cap. He said he could not do it due to scheduling conflicts. If only he didn't go on to blindly sign so many mediocre films at the beginning of his career such as Yaadein and AMALL, he may have been able to do this one. He made up for it later by doing ZNMD though.
He would have played second fiddle to Aamir Khan in this one. He was offered to play the role that Siddharth played. I don't remember the character having a big role in the film. The focus was heavily on Aamir's character and I remember even Kunal Kapoor and Atul Kulkarni's characters being more significant. Maybe the role would have been given more screentime and story with someone like Hrithik in the cast. Maybe he could have done this but I think the schedule was conflicting with Krrish, so ultimately, Krrish was the right choice for him personally.
He should have done this if the opportunity was there. His release during this period was Mohenjo Daro. I understand why he thought working with Ashutosh Gowariker again on an ambitious project may have fetched success given that they did Jodhaa Akbar, wh

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Bollywood will recall 2002 as the year when almost nothing worked in the Hindi film industry. Not stars, not even superstars.
The mighty Amitabh Bachchan's presence couldn't save Vipul Shah's Aankhen and David Dhawan's Hum Kisise Kam Nahin (left). Neither new directors nor veterans nudged the somnolent box-office awake.
It was also the year which gave Hindi cinema no successful new filmmaking talent. From Vipul Shah, who directed Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Sushmita Sen in the stagey crime caper, Aankhen, to Arjun Sajnani and his equally theatrical and star clogged costume drama Agni Varsha, no new director had a clue as to what worked at the box-office.
But Maachis composer Vishal Bharadwaj's Makdee and Mani Shankar's 16 December were noticed for their directorial debuts. The rest fell by the wayside: Arjun Sablok's Na Tum Jaano Na Hum; Govind Menon's Danger; Anant Mahadevan's Dil Vil Pyar Vyar; Meghna Gulzar's Filhaal; Anupam Kher's Om Jai Jagadish; Sushen Bhatnagar's Soch; and Gurudev Bhalla's Sharaarat.
None of the debutant directors have been able to get a second project going.
Formula-centric filmmakers came up with one flop after another. In 2002, producers like Yash Chopra and Vashu Bhagnani had more than one failed project.
Director David Dhawan had three big budget flops: Hum Kisise Kam Nahin, Yeh Hai Jalwa (right) and Chor Machaye Shor. No distributor has come forward to buy Dhawan's ready-for-release Sanjay Dutt-Saif Ali Khan-Bipasha Basu comedy Nehle Pe Dehla.
If Dhawan had three releases, so did the prolific Vikram Bhatt. Two of his films, Awara Paagal Deewana and Raaz, made neat profits. Raaz was one of the year's two bonafide successes. The other was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas.
There were a number of profitable ventures during the year even as the movie business hit rock bottom. Ram Gopal Varma's gangster epic Company, Anees Bazmee's thriller Deewangee (both films with exceptional performances by Ajay Devgan) , Kundan Shah's weepie Dil Hai Tumhara, debutant Adhiyman's Shah Rukh Khan-Madhuri Dixit-Salman Khan triangle Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, Abbas-Mustan's Humraaz, 16 December, Shashilal Nair's Ek Chhotisi Love Story and Makdee made profits in some areas.
Shah Rukh Khan benefited from Devdas' (left) success. Hrithik Roshan's three releases -- Vikram Bhatt's Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum and Kunal Kohli's Mujhse Dosti Karoge -- bit the dust.

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.

When I got home, they were still there.
Only rule is you can't play guys out of position i.e. India can't field a batting lineup of Sachin, Ganguly, Rohit, Dhawan, Kohli just because they are the best pure batsmen to play for India.
