Adventures with AFOSI - Or, I am being charged with WHAT?!

So there I am, sitting in a tiny interrogation room, 2 or so hours after I arrived, not one person has stopped in, and I still have no idea WHY exactly I am here.

*Earlier that day* I went to the local courthouse to file for an annulment from my second wife. Not because we were having problems (oh no, that was later....) but because the day after we got married, I found out her previous divorce wasn't finalized. Okay cool. We had not enrolled her in DEERS, no ID, nothing.

*back to the interview room* As someone with anxiety issues, I am literally running every possible scenario through my head as to why I was called in by OSI. I work with classified all day, did something get released accidentally? Left somewhere unattended? I had no idea. I had been back from my trip from the courthouse no more than 30 minutes, when my First Sgt called and asked me to stop by his office. Sure Shirt, be right there.

I get to his office, he lets me know we are headed over to OSI. Okay cool, what for? *crickets* oh hell.

So there my ass sat for close to 3 hours. Finally 2 agents come in. One sits down, the other has his arms crossed in the doorway, mean mugging me. Now, at this point, I am sweating, I am stressed out, I have ZERO idea why I am here. So the "nice guy" finally gives me his spiel, and the moment he tells me WHY I bust up laughing. So for 3 hours I have stressed, to find out I am being investigated for....wait for it. Polygamy. Why? Because they got word I was married to a woman who was still married (not polygamy, as I was legally divorced) who I believe her former husband tried to cause problems for me, and was the one who "anonymously" reported me.

So they ask if I want a lawyer, to which I stifle yet another laugh, because I know full well I am divorced, and I also just submitted the paperwork 4 hours prior to annul the second marriage, I pass. They try and trip me up, and of course special agent hard ass in the back is the worst excuse for an agent I have ever seen, especially because the whole time, he still thinks he has me.

So readers, you may wonder, how did AFOSI, the elite of Special Investigators in the Air Force, those who solve the crimes others cannot or will not, deduce I was a polygamist? Oh, this is easy. One of them checked DEERS and saw I had a spouse listed. That's it.

Now, formerly military members, will be laughing right now. For the rest, let me explain why this is funny. Even after a divorce, ex-spouses remain in the s

I Work For AFOSI…..

In the late 1970’s, the Air Force in it’s infinite wisdom, decided that Mainframe Computer Operators and Programmers were not β€œCombat nor Combat Support” career fields. Therefore a given percentage of us had to take on β€œauxiliary career fields.” Read that to mean, part time combat support career fields.

I became a Security Police (Law Enforcement side) augmentee. We did not go to Security Police Tech School. We participated in two weeks of local training.

That’s the background. Now for the story.

So, fast forward to the late 1980’s, different base, a few more stripes on my rank chevrons.

I was a Mainframe Computer Operator (511xx) and part time Law Enforcement Specialist.

I was riding in a car one night with a full time Law Enforcement Specialist. I was senior in rank to him and smart enough to know he was the one with police experience. I deferred to him.

We got a call to meet with the manager of the base NCO Club.

When we met with the manager, he told us there was a guy in a civilian suit sitting in the club bar, who was carrying a pistol. The guy kept opening his coat just enough for others could see the pistol.

We then went to the bar where the manager identified the individual to us.

We asked the guy to step outside with us so we could talk where there was not so much noise.

He was close to being drunk, but was cooperative.

Once outside my partner asked him if he was carrying a weapon. He admitted he had a pistol and opened his coat so we could see it in a shoulder holster.

My partner asked him for his ID. He produced an ID card that identified him as a member of AFOSI (Air Force Office of Special Investigation).

There was an AFOSI unit on our base, so we had our dispatcher contact the on call agent who said they would meet us on site at the club.

About half an hour later two AFOSI agents arrive to talk to us and the gun carrying guy.

We end up taking the guy into custody. He was actually a Senior Airman who worked at the base Pass and ID office. He made himself a fake ID.

He told us he did all of this to pick up women at the NCO club.

I never heard what happened to him, but I know he had an unauthorized weapon which was loaded, while consuming alcohol, using a fake ID which he created using his access and expertise in Pass and ID.

How watching Dr. Phil with my wife made me call AFOSI

My last post was very serious, so I thought that my next post should be more light hearted.

About 14 years ago, at Shaw AFB, I had a day off because of an ACC Family Day. My kids were down for naps, and My wife and I were watching TV. Dr. Phil came on, and it was about the "DANGERS OF CRAIGS LIST". At the time, we had never heard of Craig's List. So, we watched as Dr. Phil spun stories of personal ads that involved; prostitution, assault and battery, even murder.

We thought that it was insane to think that a web site was around that catered to such things. I remember growing up in the 90's, and hearing about the dangers of the internet. To me it seemed like Craig's List was a manifestation of those fears.

After the program, my wife wanted to check out the web site and see if there was anything like that in our area. I agreed, and we went there. At the time, there weren't any listings for Sumter, so we looked up Columbia. We found three suspicious posts, and two of them directly referenced Ft. Jackson.

I was an NCO at the time, so I felt that I had to report a possible crime on a military installation. I looked up the number for OSI, and called up a Special Agent. I informed him about how my wife and I were watching Dr. Phil, and then went to Craig's List.

I told him about the listings regarding offers for paid sex on Ft. Jackson. The Special Agent told me that he would relay this to the Ft. Jackson CID, after he got a good laugh at the story. He told me that he would give an update for any fallout, but I was never given any.

A few years later, OSI was going around the base because of a rise in crimes on the base and they were asking us to say something if we see or hear anything. I asked another Special Agent if my tip from earlier had led to anything, but again, I never heard back.

AFOSI Retrain Question

Hey everyone.

I'm looking for some basic information about retraining into OSI. I've spoken with the local detachment, I meet all of the eligibility requirements from what he can see as far as an initial consideration goes.

The one thing that was mentioned that gives me pause is his statement about re-enlisting: He said that in order to apply for OSI I would need to re-enlist in my current career field first. I am in my retrain window so I find this odd. I was under the impression that cross-training was the opportunity for us to find the desire to re-enlist. I realize that this is a vague question, but any information regarding this would be helpful. I've spoken to other agents before who stated that OSI was on their "list" among other jobs they wished to cross-train into, and they got it like any other retrain process. That does not seem to be the case here. So from what I understand, he is telling me that I ether re-enlist, and play the odds to get picked up by OSI, or don't re-enlist, and try to find a different job through the normal retrain options.

For reference, I'm an E-5 with 6 years of TIS come June. I'm overseas and my DEROS isn't until June 2017 I think. I just entered my retrain window at the beginning of March.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me out, I can't seem to find much on the topic online and the career assistance guy here just wants me to talk to the local detachment for assistance.

The TRUTH about Roswell and Ebens revealed by a retired U.S. Government Employee in 2005

He claims: I won't go into any great details about my past, but I was involved in a special program. As for Roswell, it occurred, but not like the storybooks tell. There were two crash sites. One is southwest of Corona, New Mexico, and the second site is at Pelona Peak, south of Datil, New Mexico. The crash involved two extraterrestrial aircraft. The Corona site was found a day later by an archaeology team. This team reported the crash site to the Lincoln County Sheriff's department. A deputy arrived the next day and summoned a state police officer. One live entity [EBE] was found hiding behind a rock.

The entity was given water but declined food. The entity was later transferred to Los Alamos. The information went to Roswell Army Air Field. The site was examined, and all evidence was removed. The bodies were taken to Los Alamos National Laboratory because they had a freezing system that allowed the bodies to remain frozen for research. The craft was taken to Roswell and then onto Wright Field, Ohio. The second site was not discovered until August 1949 by two ranchers. They reported their findings several days later to the sheriff of Catron County, New Mexico. Because of the remote location, it took the sheriff several days to make his way to the crash site. Once at the site, the sheriff took photographs and then drove back to Datil. Sandia Army Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico was then notified. A recovery team from Sandia took custody of all evidence, including six bodies. The bodies were taken to Sandia Base, but later transferred to Los Alamos. The live entity established communications with us and provided us with a location of his home planet. The entity remained alive until 1952, when he died. But before his death, he provided us with a full explanation of the items found inside the two crafts. One item was a communication device. The entity was allowed to make contact with his planet.

Somehow, I never knew this information, but a meeting date was set for April 1964 near Alamogordo New Mexico. The Aliens landed and retrieved the bodies of their dead comrades. Information was exchanged. Communication was in English. The aliens had a translation device. In 1965, we had an exchange program with the aliens. We carefully selected 12 military personnel; ten men and two women. They were trained, vetted and carefully removed from the military system. The 12 were skilled in various specialties. Near the northern part of the Nevada Tes

CIA leaking info to make UFOlogist seem crazy

Hey I'm a skeptic here, but I swear that I read in a reputable source a long time ago about a man who saw an experimental military aircraft and then began talking about this "UFO" in the community, and the CIA or FBI responded by spreading rumors in the community to make this person seem like they had psychosis and it basically ruined his life. I've googled so many different keywords to try to find it, and all I can find are what I consider to be not-reputable conspiracy stuff. I swear that I saw it on wikipedia (and yes I know that sometimes that's not exactly reputable) but that it was like a well documented thing that the CIA or FBI owned up to. Does anyone know what I'm talking about - and if so can you provide a link to a somewhat reputable source? Am I just making this up or am I confabulating the plot of a movie for an actual historical article? LOL.

Thanks in advance!
