Has anyone been able to request their transcript from AMU and have it sent to an American university?
A couple of years ago, I participated in a field school that is associated with the university and received academic credits that transferred back to my home college in the US. Now Iβm applying to graduate programs and they are requiring it as well.
I havenβt been able to find contact information for their equivalent of a registrarβs office online and my only contact from the field school has been unresponsive for months.
Any and all advice is deeply appreciated! It feels like Iβll never be able to go back to school at this rate.
Hello, it's the weird composer guy again! Another thing I'm planning on doing is writing a few songs for a friend of mine who is fluent in Polish (IIRC she was born in the US but her parents are native Poles). So after doing some research about Polish poets, I settled on some of the Crimean Sonnets by Adam Mickiewicz. I gave a shot at translating them myself (again, word-by-word using Google Translate), and asked her to check my work, but time got away from us and she's starting her first year of teaching this week, so she won't have time. I went for a compromise between a literal translation and a poetic translation, but I'm asking if I got the basic gist of the text right. Also, there are a few things that I'm not sure what they mean, even when translated; they're written in bold.

P.S. I am aware that there are publicly available English versions of the Crimean Sonnets, but they're fully poetic translations, and I know from experience that those sorts of things tend to play a bit fast-and-loose with the original text; I wanted something understandable, but as close to the original as possible.
My lunchtime attempt at translating the Invocation (Inwokacja) from Adam Mickiewicz's poem Pan Tadeusz from Polish into English. I've never liked the English translations I've read, so I decided to try my own. Apologies to Adam ;)

Adam Mickiewicz University, Poland's leading university is once again offering a three-year postgraduate diploma in interlinguistics and esperantology starting in August. The international course will take place at the linguistics Institute under the guidance of Professor Ilona Koutny.
This is a fantastic opportunity if you are interested in planned languages as a serious academic discipline. Although you can do post graduate research in interliguistics at a number of universities, this is the only one by coursework that I know of.

Is he regarded as an important national poet in Lithuania? Are his poems taught in school? Do people even know who he is? Has it always been like this? I am moving to Istanbul for the months of July and August together with my girlfriend. My "mother in law" is worried whether my girlfriend will be safe at night wandering around beyoglu. But we have found this beautiful apartment right next to the mickiewicz mΓΌzesi so I thought I'd like to hear the opinion of some true Istanbul residents about the area. Would you move there? Is it safe for girls in the evening/night?
