A list of puns related to "Ace Hood"
I recently went from Trek Madone 9100 DA to an Emonda 9200 DA both Di2. Geometry of bikes is almost identical. I have a 10mm shorter stem on the Emonda, yet still I feel stretched out & all other setup copied over.
Measuring the hoods from say middle of bar to top middle of hood, it looks like it's longer by 15mm over the 9100 DA. Reviews say it was lengthened by 5mm but it seems way more than this.
It's not an easy stem change as it's integrated so I want to make sure of this before swapping them
Anyone else experienced this or know anything about it?
Not sure if i can reposition the hoods to bring them back a little. Probably not but again if anyone knows it would be much appreciated.

So, I think I've found out the secret to Waino's recent run of remarkability. It all leads back to his sinker. Now, when you think of Adam, the sinker isn't anywhere near the front of your mind, right? He has always had the devastating curveball, and during his elite years, he paired it with a mean cutter. You only need two great pitches to dominate as a starter, and Waino showed this for years. Unfortunately for Wainwright, his cutter lost its elite status, and he was left with only one above-average pitch. It's a testament to him that he remained a solid starter with only one good pitch. Enter 2021. Enter the sinker.
Let's start with usage. There's no difference there. From 2013 to this season, Waino has used the sinker on a consistent basis -- about 25%. Some years, it's a few points less, and some years, it's a few points more. In previous years, let's just say it wasn't a great pitch for him, but look at that last line:
2014: .305 BA/.492 SLG, .376 wOBA
2016: .381 BA/.614 SLG, .428 wOBA
2017: .273 BA/.433 SLG, .327 wOBA
2018: .319 BA/.511 SLG, .387 wOBA
2019: .333 BA/.535 SLG, .397 wOBA
2020: .200 BA/.415 SLG, .326 wOBA
2021: .177 BA/.234 SLG, .235 wOBA
What a difference! This is a 40 year-old starter who turned a third or fourth pitch into a bonafide weapon.
So, why? Why is this happening? What's the difference? Well, if you're tired of Edmonds constantly bringing up spin rate in the booth, this isn't the paragraph for you! From 2015-2020, Wainwright's sinker averaged 2166 RPM. This season, his sinker sits at 2235 RPM. That's a pretty sizeable jump, especially considering how his rates in previous years barely changed. However, I think there's something else at play, but it's more nebulous.
I want you to think of the best pitches in baseball. Naturally, you might think of those pitches getting whiffs, and that's true. If you look at the best pitches by the numbers, you see a ton of whiffs. However, Wainwright's sinker, which is currently ranked as the 29th-best pitch in all of baseball this season (WOW!!), has a Whiff% of about 9%. The next-best pitch with a single-digit Whiff% is Martin Perez's sinker, WAY down at 167th. How is this pitch so effective if he isn't getting swings and misses?
I can't confirm this without spending more time combing through the data, but I think Wainwright is a master of stealing strikes with the sinker. It certainly seems like he is getting way more called strikeouts than most pitchers do. Waino is confo

A full on intramural Batfamily brawl. Which side wins, who survives and who does the most work?
R1 Theyβre all fully in character but willing to take each other down. Fight occurs in crime alley without prep time.
R2 Same as R1 but they have an hour to plan and prep.
R3 Fight in crime alley. Theyβre all bloodlusted.
R4 An hour of prep time, all bloodlusted.
