I’m a Canadian currently on vacation in the UAE and before I return home, I was thinking of doing a trip to the Maldives.

What are some recommendations for a solo traveller? Thank you in advance.

Hey all! Forgive me if this isn’t the correct place to post, but as the title says, I am planning a trip to the UAE with my girlfriend for my 30th birthday in October. We’re probably going to spend 6-7 of the days in DXB, but wanting to visit Abu Dhabi so wanted to ask for some suggestions on where to stay and things we must see.

For context, we’re in our late 20s and definitely tend to enjoy high end hotels when we travel internationally, but not something like a W hotel or Ritz Carlton (unless they’re a must stay and a lot different than in the US). We’ll be staying at the Five Palm Jumeirah during our time in Dubai if that helps!

We like to party (not too aggressively) and have a drink here and there (poolside/beachside), eat good food, and explore. I’ve been doing some research but can’t come to a conclusion specifically on where to stay and what to do, so I thought I’d ask my friends here :)

On our to-do list so far:

Shiekh Zayed mosque: I’m an Arab-American Muslim and my girlfriend is not but I’ve heard that’s not an issue either way.

Souq/shopping: I’d love to visit a souq or two and potentially go to a mall for shopping.

Desert: I’ve heard about riding ATVs in the desert which would be

Racing/driving a nice car: I also would really like to drive an exotic car on a track if possible.

Restaurants/food tour: any restaurant or food ideas would be very helpful as well, although I’m sure there are an abundance of restaurants.

Any suggestions on anything else would be super appreciated! Thank you all :)
