A list of puns related to "A River Runs Through It"
I am watching River Runes Through It with my friend and as we were looking at related stuff, she found something that looked like an extra few minutes of the final episode that was only accessible through Youku. We are losing our minds trying to get an Youku account to even try to see if it exists.
Does it exist? If it does, is there any other possible way to see it?
When A River Runs Through It was released in 1992, I was a high school senior attending high school at Ramstein AFB in southwestrrn Germany.
One night, in the German city of Landstuhl, our Ford Aerostar, the family truckster, broke down while our family was out to dinner.
We found a mechanic to fix the car. It would take a few hours. Since it was a damp and foggy night, we walked next door to the local movie theater to stay warm and dry.
With Landstuhl being home to a large US military population, the theater, or "Kino", played both English language and German language films.
That night, A River Runs Through It was the English language selection of the night.
We noticed that the only people in the theater besides us was an elderly couple.
After the film (which I loved, and remains among my favorites), we saw the elderly couple in the theater lobby, and struck up a conversation with them.
It turned out that they were from Montana, and had been friends with Norman Maclean, upon whose novella the film is based. They went on to tell stories about him and his brother, Paul, portrayed by Pitt. They also remarked on how faithful the film and novella were to the real-life Maclean family, and the tribulations depicted in the film.
Their presence and stories thst night only enhanced my love for the film. I love it to this day. I suppose you could say I am haunted by waters....
I did, I loved it. I loved the fact that the Belchers traveled and Bob didn't object; I liked Tina's thunder girl uniform and her coming back to reality; I liked Bob thinking he had everything under control only to realize he almost starved everybody by not packing food and I liked Linda taking charge. The setting by the lake and the wilderness was beautiful, I wanted to jump into that lake and swim it if I were a cartoon character----overall, it was really well done.
I can't see why so many people hate it and call it their least favorite episode.
By the way, I'm not really one whose into a lot of bathroom humor, but I knew just what they meant by a river runs through. I got it. I got the double meaning.
The movie, is just so solid, and one of my faves. Me and some buddies have all decided, we just need to get up there and see Montana. We aren't looking for a fishing or hunting trip, just a place to get away for a week, and play cards, and hangout. Ideally it would be a cabin in the mountains, or near a river, fairly isolated, but close enough to a city to explore if we wanted to. Just want to see Montana in its full glory, and spend some quality time with some friends. I am a total novice, and know little to nothing about your great state, so any suggestions welcome. Just want to get all up in Montana's mashed potatoes...respectfully of course. Thanks, and cheers.
At least some aspects of the story reminds me of that movie. Specifically the youngest sonβs problems in each.
Official Temple Dwelling of the Kanrake, Timeran Tribe
"I suppose this is more of a formality than anything else, is it not, Sante?" Asked the Kanrake.
"My dear Kanrake, you can't deny that I am growing on you as a result of our constant interactions!"
"Yes. Growing on me like a weed that I cannot seem to remove."
"You make me blush, my Kanrake."
Sante and the Kanrake were siting just outside the official Temple. There were a few guards here and there making their rounds, and the Kanrake couldn't help but admire the wicked sharpness each imported weapon had. It was a good idea to let Sante go ahead with the diplomacy, even if it only affected a few villages within the tribes. The three stumps they were sitting on began to feel uncomfortable, so the Kanrake stood up and motioned for Sante to follow her as they walked around the grounds.
"I may want to invest in palisades like the ones you found with the Qar'tophl people. An enclosed temple would bring me greater peace of mind than simply letting anyone walk through as they please. But I digress. What were we talking about?"
"An exciting expedition to lands unknown!"
"Yes, right. You wish to, once again, go out into the wilderness in hopes of 'finding something'."
"To be fair, my Kanrake, the last two time me and the other two warriors went out, we already heard some vague rumors about some tribes not to far away from us. This time, there are no rumors. We literally wish to go into the wilderness."
"Exciting, truly. But what specific purpose does this have other than to satisfy curiosity?"
"There is nothing wrong with that, is there? And even if there was, we actually go have a purpose this time. The Qar'tophl people said that they would be most interested in performing more trades with us if we had more animal bones and hides. I imagine they would fetch a handsome compensation if we delivered our hunted goods to those coastal people."
The Kanrake considered this and found herself agreeing with her most trusted and experienced soldier. But she still needed more information before she could make a decision. "Where are you going? And how to you plan on getting there?"
"Through out our travels, we noticed that there were a few rivers and lakes heading into the two tribes we visited. Our tribe does not have any major waterways, so it woul
