Looking for some new shows to get into! Wondering if any fans had shows they love to suggest? They can be similar to Yellowjackets or not, I'll consider anything!
Thanks in advance!
*Edit
Before making this post I did a very brief search to see if the topic was covered already and didn't see anything that looked similar. I've noticed people mentioning other threads with similar themes. I searched again and found I was incorrect the first time. So I do apologize for creating another thread on the same topic. But thank you to everyone for the great suggestions so far!

I feel about 99% sure that we have enough information to understand the mystery of the symbol that appears on the tree and in the attic. This in turn tells us how the Yellowjackets might have found their way home, had it not been for a tragic incident, and perhaps even how the women who survived the ordeal eventually did find their way back. Whatโs more, we have answers to some basic questions related to a recent episode and the series as a whole: What was the significance of the ending of Episode 8? Why was it called โFlight of the Bumblebeeโ? And why is the series called Yellowjackets? Yes, doing a deep dive into these questions has seemed unnecessary because we have available answers that are so simpleโperhaps deceptively simple.
This post contains spoilers for Episodes 1โ8, especially Episode 8. And if Iโm right, this spoils some major revelations that might be made later in the series, but thatโs the sort of thing you sign up for when you choose to read a theory post, isnโt it?
For those of you wanting a synopsis or a tl;dr here is an outline:
Still not convinced reading this is worth your time? Thatโs cool, I value my time too. How about this? Put a link to this thread in your bookmarks, and give it this title: โDo not read unless you encounter references or themes related to sextants, chronometers (sea clocks), occultations (celestial bodies hidden by other celestial bodies), parallax, nautical atlases, bird biology, or the biology of organisms in order hymenoptera (bees, wasps, yellowjackets, etc.) on YellowJackets.โ If my theory is right, you will see at least some of these things eventually.
Part One: Occultation is no laughing matter.
I suspect that the most significant song in Season One of Yellowjackets and perhaps the whole series is a song by Oasis, a band with a name that r
... keep reading on reddit โกif you havenโt done so already, please go watch yellowjackets. itโs one of the best debut seasons of a show iโve ever seen. it touches on so many horror sub genres, has a great cast, christina fucking ricci, and solid practical effects. iโm in love.

What Is Your Most Humorous Scene or Line So Far? For a horror/thriller/mystery series it's got some great humor as well. One scene in particular stands out in my mind, but what is yours?

I love the song and the album, easy AOTY for me, but I wish it was more Courtney than Sam. Some bands will put out alternative versions of songs every now and again, y'all let me know if this song ever gets one
For anyone unfamiliar with the show, Yellowjackets follows a girls high school soccer team that has their plane crash in the middle of the Canadian wilderness during the late 90's. It follows two timelines: The girls in the wilderness as they devolve from a ordinary team into ritualistic, cannibalistic clans, and the few remaining survivors in the modern day as they start receiving threatening messages and blackmail attempts linked back to their time in the wilderness. The show is part survival drama, part psychological horror, and part dark comedy.
What makes the show so addicting to me is that there are a lot of mysteries to speculate about. Its super easy to get caught up in theorizing about what exactly happened out there, who all survived, and how this all all ties in to the modern day story. There is a borderline-supernatural undercurrent to the events we see that makes you constantly question if the girls are becoming increasingly deluded or if there is an actual supernatural element to the story, and it's done a great job of letting you choose to believe either option. The overall casting is brilliant, with some of the best older-younger versions of characters that I have seen ever.
It has been a long time since I've had a show that can occupy my mind the way Yellowjackets has.
If you haven't started watching Yellowjackets yet, I highly recommend it. The show had me hooked from the first episode and was consistently great throughout the season. The performances are top notch and the story/mystery angle hooks you right away. I cannot wait for Season 2.
I just rewatched the seance episode. While Lottie's 'possessed', Shauna asks her what it wants and Lottie says 'It wants what's in you.' Now I'm thinking she's referring to the baby (also, at the end of the episode, Tai tells Shauna she knows she's pregnant). So I think Shauna gives birth to the baby but Lottie wants to sacrifice it to whatever's in the woods. Maybe she steals the baby and this causes the split between the two groups. Not sure if this theory has been posted already but I haven't seen it. I like this better than the 'eating the baby' theory.
So I'm kinda new to this Subreddit and English is not my first language, so I hope you guys will understand what I'm trying to explain : Yellowjackets wasps are cannibals only during extreme winters, and I think that it's one of the inspiration of the creators of this TV-show.
Perhaps they even base the characters personalities on the hierarchy between yellow jackets wasps : queen / workers / drone
This is why I'm almost sure that the AQ is Shauna : she'll be the only one, in the entire story, to give birth to a child and this is why she is represented by the queen of wasps : the only wasp being able to give birth. This could be the reason no other adult characters did conceive a child.
So I am thinking of starting the show but I sometimes sleep alone so Iโm afraid I will be scared haha I can get scared easily
What type of scary would you say it is? Like what show would be comparable to? I would be scared of things like the ring and exorcism but I love American horror story and pretty little liars
So just trying to figure it out if I can handle it, appreciate it in advance for any responses
EDIT: take Twin Peaks per example, it lit scarred me for awhile it was all good and fine until that one scene the dude possesses the other dudes body and I am still not ok hahahaha
Hey. A few months ago, I started listening to a Jazz Fusion group called Yellowjackets. I completely fell in love with them. I posted reviews for their first two albums on the Jazz Fusion sub but there's more foot traffic here so I'm posting it here as well. Here are my stand-out tracks. First off, Homecoming. I feel that it is a bit derivative of Claire's Song, the opening track from the previous album, Mirage A Trois. It still reminds me of Swamp Thing, one of my favorite characters from DC Comics, so I'm not complaining. lol Daddy's Gonna Miss You. At first, I thought the title was kind of creepy but when I listened to it I realized that it seems to be about missing your children when you're on the road. I'm an unpublished author and one of the books I'm writing focuses on a father separated from his daughter, so this gave me a lot to work with. Lonely Weekend. I could not get over how well I took to a Yellowjackets song with vocals. I could picture it playing in the background in Miami Vice. I kind of wish it was sung by a woman though because there's another story I'm writing where the lead character is a bisexual woman. Plus, she loves Jazz. Up next, Shades.
I was apprehensive about this show mainly because it was about teen girls and I didnโt wanna get into a CW type show. Iโm glad I gave it a shot tho. The story is pretty wild and the acting from both older and younger cast is fucking top notch (Christina Ricci is doing the best if her career). Thereโs a few plot lines that are out there but the show doesnโt have a hard time sucking the viewer in despite that.
If you like lord of the flies or Hannibal this show is a must watch. Wish season 2 would start tomorrow.
