Dear All,
The Allan K. Smith Center for Writing and Rhetoric at Trinity College invites applications for a two-year, visiting assistant professor position, open area of specialization in rhetoric and composition, to begin fall 2021. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in first year composition. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition by start date (also considered: Ph.D. in English or related field with significant coursework or research in rhetoric and composition as well as teaching experience). Teaching load is 3/2. Competitive salary and benefits.
The successful applicant will join an established Writing Program and be expected to advise students as well as provide expertise in composition pedagogy to faculty across disciplines. Area of specialization is open.

How do y'all feel about hospital/practice consolidation here in CT?
I’m giving them 3 weeks until fines but I think they don’t have the balls to go as far as being shut down.

- International student (Turkish citizen, applying from Pakistan).
- Female.
- Following the British high school system of Ordinary (9th to 11th grade) and Advanced Levels (12th to 13th).
- O' Level subjects: Maths, English, Urdu (Pakistan's national language), Biology, Physics, Economics, Business Studies, Literature in English, Modern World History.
- O' Level grades: 8 A's, 1 B (Urdu)
- A' Level subjects: Sociology, Psychology, Literature in English, and Maths. (The minimum requirement is usually 3; people rarely take up more than 4, and 5+ is considered insane)
- A' Level exams take place next May/June; teachers send our "expected grades" which are never disclosed to the students.
- New SAT: 1380 (670 E / 710 M)
- Intended major: Psychology
- Previously did an internship with the psychology department of a local university.
- Currently interning under a psychiatrist.
- Running a WHO campaign to end Polio in Pakistan with a friend.
- Elected as my school's Dramatics Society President twice in a row.
- Currently the Unit Leader of my school's Duke of Edinburgh Award Programme.
- Was part of the school Parliamentary Style Debates team (consisting of 3 members); made it to finals plenty of times at tournaments.
- Yellow belt in Ninjutsu; currently training in MMA (wrote my essay on MMA too.)
- Active member of my school's Music Society as a vocalist; been performing at singing events (gigs, concerts, competitions etc) since 8th grade.
- Part of the school cricket team from 6th to 11th grade as one of the main/key players (bowling, batting, and fielding); captain once; won many inter-school and inter-house tournaments.
- Been in every annual school play as the lead or a supporting role; been in a major commercial play as a dancer once; Dramatic Reading competition "finalist" once.
- I'm fluent in three languages: English, Turkish, and Urdu.
My recommendation letters are quite strong, and I'd like to think (am desperately hoping) I did a good job with the essay. I wasn't able to write the optional supplemental essay. :/
My family can afford to pay only around 3,600 USD per year for my education.
My school doesn't rank its students nor does it have a GPA system so I'm afraid I can't provide you guys with either.
