Why is industry leader topple rate increasing if the rate of technological innovation is decreasing?

I've seen it claimed in answers in this subreddit that the rate of technological change is decreasing. However, the topple rate of industry leaders has been increasing over the years (e.g. S&P 500 turnover is increasing substantially), so why is this? I know that the topple rate goes in cycles, but over the long term (since the 1950s) it's been trending upwards.

EDIT: To add a little clarification, I thought that these two things would be negatively correlated because often when a new technology comes along a new company arises which uses this technology to outcompete existing ones (e.g. after the internet, Amazon was able to outcompete a lot of traditional retailers and replace them as an industry leader).

Alatreon Retrospective

It's been a good long time since I fought this elder dragon, and after completing my backlog of games, I decided to go back to World and fight some of the monsters again for fun.

Fatalis, Raging Brachydios, Rajang, etc. But then I made a very hard decision: Fight Alatreon again.

I've only beaten Alatreon twice. When he was first released, and the nerfed Alatreon fight before Fatalis, even then it took me months after he was released to actually beat him. But unlike Fatalis, I wasn't filled with relief and happiness after overcoming a difficult trial, I hated it. From the depths of my soul I despised it, so I never fought him again.

Cut to now, I made a decision to fight him again, so I pulled out the set I used to beat him last time and started the quest. Here are my thoughts after all this time:

The Good

  1. The fight itself with his moveset is excellent. The hitboxes are just right, and never before have I felt so happy I can thread the needle dodging lightning bolts. Hitboxes this good is almost a miracle

  2. The music is a great rendition of his theme from the 3rd generation. I feel it perfectly represents the chaotic nature of Alatreon's inability to fully control his elements.

The Bad

  1. The arena is very finicky. Especially when it comes to slamming his head into the sides of it. There is a high chance he will either miss entirely or just glide past it.

  2. Exactly why is it that we are unable to far caster back to camp? The monster hunter team wants us to use element weapons at the right time to weaken him, but they refuse to let us actually do it if we screw up. Didn't weaken him in time or break the horn? Congratulations! You're dead. Speaking of...

The Absolute Worse

Escaton Judgement. It sucks. It sucked then, and it still sucks now. But now, for completely different reasons. Ever since I soloed Fatalis, I started playing other multiplayer games, specifically Destiny 2.

For those who don't know, Destiny 2 is basically an MMO (kinda, I keep seeing different people say it is/isn't). The game includes special activities called raids that require absolute cooperation and communication amongst 6 players to complete them. All of the game's raids, include bosses with very specific mechanics to beat them. Failure to do those mechanics as they were designed results in a wipe, aka, everyone dies and does it over again.

Now I'm not gonna say D2 is a perfect game, it has it's own problems, but from my year of playing D2, going back to

No one expects AEW to topple WWE in ratings overall, but in the UK they have a hell of a chance.

In the UK AEW has a fantastic opportunity to be the main wrestling brand thanks to their TV deal, AEW will be shown on ITV4 and it'll likely be available on catch up for anyone to watch completely free. I would imagine that AEW would be repeated in the daytime to attract more viewers too. It's quite the role reversal from complaints about AEW PPVs being too expensive because in the UK RAW and Smackdown is too expensive, probably around Β£50 although it can vary. You can of course watch on the Network 30 days after but no one really wants that.

The biggest reason it has to potential to usurp the WWE in the UK is the potential reach it has, ITV4 is available to 27+ million households, the last time I heard BT Sport had less than 2 million households, many people from my era remember waking up on a Sunday morning and watching HEAT which was the only wrestling we had.

RAW and Smackdown get around 100k viewers in the UK currently which is pretty dreadful, World of Sport was rubbish and it pulled in half a million, imagine if AEW had that timeslot instead? I don't think it would be unreasonable to say AEW could match that. The potential is there for the UK to be a significant viewing majority for AEW.

As someone who doesn't have access to Sky or BT Sport, AEW is just great for me.

Why didn't the FED combat inflation and being tapering earlier?

Apologies if this is commonly asked or a stupid question, but as I look at the SPY chart over the last two years and comments from people about the last few days reaction to the FEDs decision to raise rates over the course of this year:

"The feds going to take a fire hose to the market. Rightfully so inflation is insane."

Why didn't the FED decide to taper earlier, like last year? Is hindsight 20/20 where there was legitimate fear that the market could topple if it was done too soon? There was an unbelievable amount of investment in stocks since March 2020, only to meet a "fire hose" to cool it down. Could the market recovery not have been cooled slowly as growth skyrocketed?

[Fulgrim: The Palatine Phoenix] Emperor's Children try to negotiate with revolutionaries

Fulgrim has decided to conquer the world of Byzas with only 7 of the Emperor's Children in order to show their merit to his brothers. While the government of Byzas agrees to enter the Imperium peacefully various groups within the planet seek to stop it and haphazard revolts and insurrections break out. Here 2 Space Marines are sent to talk to the rebels, checking out the conditions of agri-workers while 2 more are sent to check out the conditions of industrial workers.

>Well, this is fun,’ Grythan Thorn said, as low-velocity projectiles flattened themselves against his power armour. β€˜Should we return fire, do you think?’

>Kasperos Telmar shrugged. β€˜The primarch said not to hurt them, if possible.’ The farmstead had been occupied by its former menials, and they didn’t seem inclined towards hospitality. Mostly, they seemed to want to shout revolutionary slogans through their purloined voxcasters and waste ammunition.

>A slug ricocheted off the side of his helmet, gouging a grey streak in the paint. His sensors registered the impact, and he sighed.

>β€˜Though I fail to see how killing a few wouldn’t help settle the rest of them down.’

>β€˜Peaceful negotiations, brother, remember?’ Thorn laughed. β€˜As soon as they run out of ammunition, they’ll be in the mood to talk.’

>The revolutionaries had turned the farmstead into a crude bastion, using whatever was to hand. It was by no means impregnable, but it was impressive, in a way. From a casual examination, Telmar had identified fifteen possible points of entry. The simplest would be to kick the main gate down.

>β€˜I doubt that. Have you seen the state of them?’ Telmar frowned. β€˜I knew it was bound to be bad, but this is monstrous. The rates of starvation alone are reprehensible. It’s no surprise they seized their moment when it came.’

>β€˜If only it didn’t inconvenience us quite so much,’ Thorn said. He crossed his arms and glanced back towards what remained of the airship that had brought them here, to the outer rim of the agricircle. The aircraft burned merrily. Its etheric engines sparked still, amid the inferno. The crew was dead, more was the pity. A direct hit from a primitive artillery piece had knocked the craft out of the air, and killed everyone not lucky enough to be clad in ceramite. β€˜I’m not walking back, I can tell you that.’

>β€˜Lazy,’ Telmar murmured.

Hell Harbor, inside the broken and shattered remains of where the Hidden Emperors first met.

Ose stands at the head of the meeting table, her eyes glowering with annoyance at the fact that that all of the seats have been destroyed and the table itself is in shambles. Along the edges of the table stand more than a dozen of the Hidden Emperors and their minions, but none of them appear to be in high spirits anymore.

Well, except for Bael.

The Duke of Pain casually sits on a nearby rock, leans back against another slightly bigger rock, and splays out his legs, leaving little to the imagination for the others present.

"Damn. You guys screwed up real good this time." Bael idly comments, picking at something stuck in his teeth with a random twig. "Archangels, aliens, and all kinds of other crap. Really screwed the Hellhound."

Mephisto levitates off to the side of the room. His larger horns and significantly larger body make him stand out, giving him a somewhat fearsome appearance compared to his past self. Now an Emperor, Mephisto stands at the top of the demonic food chain, in much the same way as all the others present.

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Musings on the Meta 4

Musings on the Meta 4:

Hello again everyone! I apologize for not posting the new weekly post for a few weeks. I've been busy at work and with some personal goals that I set this year so I wasn't able to get this up when I wanted to. This week I'm going to cover the following topics:

- Buffs and Nerfs, what does it take to shift the meta:
- Opinions on the Season - Where things are at now? What we should carry to next season.
- Healer 2pc/4pc review for 9.2

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Buffs and Nerfs: Shifting the Meta

I wanted to write this because of a recent development in the meta, that being the surge of necrolord frost mages, kyrian boomy and of course necrolord DH. I'm not going to delve particularly deep into why these classes have come into prominence this patch - they all received damage buffs or (in the case of kyrian boomy) ended synergizing well with a class that brought it's strength to the forefront.

There's a lot of things that honestly can bring a class that's either struggling or non-existent back into prominence at both low and high levels of play. I'll speak about how certain nerfs and buffs have reshaped the entire metagame since WoD and where better to start than with enhancement shaman. I've discussed in previous posts about how enhance has evolved since BFA and this was it - this was the patch that made turbo a T1 comp in terms of offensive pressure. What was done? A 20% damage buff to stormstrike and lava lash. Sometimes the blizzard buff gods are beneficial indeed. What this meant was that the relatively simple - but effective comp was given enough damage to put pressure on the FLS/RMD damp lords and with that damage it effectively catapulted Joefernandes and Boetar to their blizzcon championship. (All credit to them off course, they really did play like champs).

So this is all obvious right? A class that has solid utility gets more damage and suddenly it's a contender! Case closed. See that's not exactly always the case for a class. Sometimes, for a class to come back into prominence something complementary to that spec has to receive some sort of buff or change. A good example of this is actually from this expac - the recent surge of necro dh has been in part due to a buff to a conduit but Kyrian boomy in particular has really benefitted and is (in my mind) borderline A+/S tier in the meta. Maybe no

25% Market Share by 2030

Direct quote from Jay Farner on August 6th, 2020 (date of IPO as well): "Our goal, 25% market share within the next 10 years."

Question we will try to answer: Is it possible for Rocket to obtain 25% market share by August 6th, 2030?

Let's first take a look at how they have performed over the last 10 years to get an idea.

2011 - 2% market share

2012 - 3.4% market share

2013 - 4.4% market share

2014 - 5.1% market share

2015 - 4.8% market share

2016 - 5% market share

2017 - 5% market share

2018 - 5% market share

2019 - 6.4% market share

2020 - 8.4% market share

2021 - We will be able to calculate once we get exact figures for Q4 2021 earnings.

2022 - Jay Farner has stated they plan to be north of 10% market share in 2022.

So, using this data and assuming Rocket gets to 10%, or greater, market share by end of 2022 we realize we will need to grab 15% more market share in the next 8 years to achieve the goal of 25% by 2030. Is it possible?

There are a few things to consider, so let's take a look:

  1. Partnerships: Charles Schwab, American Express, Intuit Mint, Credit Karma, State Farm, and Morgan Stanley. These are some of the most trusted names and brands in the United States. Having these partners to lean into will help grow market share and it has been stated numerous times they are looking to expand their partners.
  2. Mortgage as a Service: SalesForce has teamed up with Rocket Companies to offer a first of its kind, "Mortgage as a Service". This service allows Rocket's mortgage origination technology to be available to banks, credit unions and other financial services. The opportunity here is significant as there are approximately 10,000 banks and credit unions throughout the USA.
  3. Simplifying the Mortgage Process: Consumers love choice and Rocket provides the most options. Whether it be through retail, wholesale, partner channels or online, Rocket is uniquely positioned to serve everyone regardless of how they choose to do business.

While these 3 items give me confidence in the future, I wasn't really seeing how we plan to more than double our market share in the next 8 years... but then it struck me! Let me share with you why I think it is achievable. In conjuction with the 3 items listed above, I believe there is one huge piece of the puzzle missing and here it is:

Amazon controls 40% of the e-commerce market. Charles Schwab controls 45% of the retail brokerage market. Intuit controls 20% of the tax prep mar

The Story So Far....Lore Dump!

So, I swear I'm not crazy, lol, but I've been collecting lore about this game since release and have played the campaign through many, many, many times. I really love the story and all the characters and wanted to learn all I could about them. After getting yet another question about wtf is going on in the game, I figured I'd finally sit down and type up all the lore I have so that others could also enjoy it. Everything I've written here is canon as I understand it. I have refs and such and can provide what I have to the best of my ability if anyone has questions. Anything written here is referenced in-game, by devs outside the game, or in promo material. And anything that's an assumption or inference should be stated as such.

Full disclosure: I main Hoffman, so there's an amount of info about him in here since I get to hear his lines a lot. I'm also a technical writer, not a creative writer, so bear with me, lol.

One last thing! I'm going to make a post with all the info I have on each Cleaner next, so look out for that!

Pre-History

The first Devil Worm was found frozen 2500 feet under the Pingualuit crater in Quebec, Canada and taken to nearby Quebec City to be studied. Though frozen, the worm awoke when water was dropped onto it in order to view it under a microscope. Because it was found frozen within a crater, there are implications that it may be extraterrestrial in origin. The Devil Worm infestation originated in Quebec City, Canada (hence all the "blame Canada!" graffiti around the levels) and spread globally from there. (Sidenote: none of the characters in the game know about the extraterrestrial origin of the Devil Worm (that we know of). The audience is privy to this information because of the cinematic trailer.)

The Devil Worm breeds in and is heavily attracted to water. This is VERY BAD for those of us that consume water to live. Once the worms got into the water supply, everyone had drunk them or eaten them in watered crops in a very short period of time (assumption, cus water lol). This is how the infection spread as quickly as it did. In Evansburgh, the infection rate climbed from 20k in August to 100k+ by December. In months, the infection rate was more than any world government could handle. This is what is referred to as The Collapse. No one had any time to consider options, make

Think Differently ( And F*ck Logic)

In World War 2, the British had a big fucking problem.

Their Lancaster Bombers were getting shot down at a ferocious rate.

They carried a bomb load of 2 tons and had a crew of 7.

Bombers were too slow and thus easy targets, so the allied forces built more machine gun turrets and used more gunners to try and protect the planes.

This, of course, slowed them down further.

The American bomber was even bigger than the Lancaster. The B17 dubbed the β€œFlying Fortress” needed a crew of 10 and had 13 machine guns.

They both weighed 16 tons and had a top speed of 245MPH.

Both planes suffered heavy losses due to the slow speeds and fatal attacks from both ground and air.

The conventional thinking at the time was how to get more machine guns and crews onto the planes without slowing them down further.

Captain Geoffrey de Havilland of the RAF was thinking differently. He announced he was going to design a bomber that was faster than German fighter planes.

People laughed at him.

But Geoffrey didn’t care. He redesigned everything. The plane was made out of wood for starters, it had no machine guns and only required the pilot and navigator to fly it.

The Mosquito was much smaller as a result. It could still hold 2 tons of bombs but it was faster β€” much faster.

Due to the two powerful Spitfire engines, the wooden chassis, only 2 members of the crew and no machine guns, it was faster than most German fighter planes with a top speed of 408MPH.

It was also pretty nimble and responsive for a bomber which gave the British a competitive advantage.

The mosquito’s speed and agility made it perfect for city target raids where it could get in and out of cities fast after bombing key targets.

Mosquito raids were responsible for taking out Nazi headquarters and other key strategic strongholds right across Europe.

Mosquito survival rates were several times that of the bigger planes proving that the best defence was speed and not more machine guns.

This is what happens when you stop thinking conventionally and start thinking differently.

Thinking differently in business

There’s not a founder or CEO on the planet who doesn’t want to gain a competitive advantage and generate more revenue.

Conventional thinking is to address this problem with more advertising and marketing.

Advertising and marketing are the machine guns for businesses. To defend ourselves against mediocrity we build more and more machine gun turrets to defend our margins from competitors.

This c

MARKETWATCH is spiraling hard

Marketwatch TEXT below:

It has been one year since retail traders began their unprecedented move on GameStop stock ,sending the price soaring and short sellers scattering, creating both a Wall Street panic and the β€œmeme stock” phenomenon.

And the year that followed was indeed a wild one, giving birth to a new classification of equities, fostering even more market volatility, populist outrage, a thriving social-media community, congressional hearings, tons of confusion, and a realization that the stock market isn’t a fair place…and maybe never has been.

On Thursday, GME’s Ape army attempted to celebrate the anniversary by re-enacting Jan 20, 2021 and it looked promising at first, with shares kissing a nearly 5% gain after one hour of trading. But thanks to a broader market selloff that culminated in a final hour reversal that gave investors of every stripe some financial whiplash, GameStop closed 3.7% lower on the day.

And while it was a one-day market phenomenon, it also felt like something of a microcosm of the past year.

Overall, the GameStop squeeze felt like it was ushering in a big important moment in American finance, and the tremors of that impact would be felt far and wide for a while as we came to reckon with how prolonged low interest rates and a global pandemic had pulled back the curtain on galling wealth inequality and an opioid-level economic addiction to cheap money, forcing regular Joes and Janes to light their virtual pitchforks aflame by opening a Robinhood HOOD, -1.44% account.

But, one year later, how different are things, really?

Not only were both GameStop and popcorn stock both trading at their lowest levels since the first half of 2021, they were also doing so on what were essentially average volume with negligible visible short interest.

What meme stocks were really about were getting rich while toppling a broken system that allowed market makers and hedge funds to make billions shorting a stock market that excluded individual investors as regulators looked the other way.

And while early returns were exciting, the hedge fund that Apes hate most, Melvin Capital, appeared to be managing about $19.6 billion at the end of 2021 while the firm that Reddit has ID’ed as its evil enabler, Citadel Securities, jus

It has been 7 weeks since they had left port. 5 weeks since news of the coalition between the Argile and Oviron empires reached them. 3 days since they crossed paths with the first of their ships moving east. All ships carrying the flag of freedom were now prey in an ocean of predators. There were no safe harbours left.

The tyrannical empires of the world were making their latest push. In search of the keys, two of them, to topple the sacred pillars to the north and south. By accomplishing that feat, they would once and for all be capable of tearing the colourful night sky down. Undoing the works of their ancient benefactors.

One of the keys had found its way onto his ship, and it was from her this news had reached him. If only he had stayed in port at Kassau for a week longer. Maybe his presence alongside his fellow freebooters could have turned the tides of the raid upon their home. With the destruction of all other ships at port, he could very well be the last ship sailing with their flag still flying high.

If they sink, so would the Republic. And with that, the Tyrants would finally be able to welcome their overlords who were already scratching at the skies from above. The colourful night sky being the only thing that was keeping them from success.

To avoid the frigates of war. Captain Heskle had been forced to turn his ship around him and head west. Chased to the wall of the cursed sea, he then turned south to avoid the β€˜Wrath of the gods’.

With a measured circumference of 2’000 km, it was a force to be reckoned with. Every sailor, new and old, knows to take its placing with great reverence when sailing through the waters surrounding it. No captain wants to be put in a position where they must consider sailing through it, for those who have have never re-emerged.

Unfortunately, Heskle found himself in that position now. It was like that saying amongst landlubbers; between a cliff and a rolling boulder. He was currentl

Humans are Weird – High Waves

Original Post: http://www.authorbettyadams.com/bettys-blog/humans-are-weird-high-waves

Ellipsoid Horizontal Major Five was far and away the most developed of the Undulate colonies. The first of it’s wild rivers had been tamed and nurtured into life generations before the Undulates had encountered any of the other sapient species. There were genuine tangles of family lines swimming though the carefully grown reefs, generations of Undulates whose appendages had never known the warmer and gentler waters of the homeworld. Clingspersistantly could be forgiven the welling of happy pride she felt as she draped over her friend’s broad shoulders.

β€œThere’s a cluster of the brittle coral coming up,” Clingspersistantly gently nudged into her friend’s back.

β€œThanks Cling,” Human Friend Susan replied as she shifted the angles of her velocity to avoid the section.

The colony was not short of human friendly sections. Far from it. The sprawling uplands, where the water was nearly prohibitively cold, swift, and lifeless were downright attractive to the giant mammals and attracted many as tourists separately from the allure of visiting an alien culture. However human bipedalisim sometimed did not mix well with the more brittle, or more jagged reef-forms that had been grown with only the sturdy membranes and dispersed surface area of the Undulates considered. Despite that several of their giant friends were wandering about the safer sections of the main agricultural cluster today.

Human Friend Susan had had a rather serious accident several days ago. The very concept of the accident was difficult for Clingspersistantly to grasp. The cause was fairly simple. Gravity had pulled down on Human Friend Susan’s foot with the full weight of her massive frame. A brittle section of reef had given way under the concentrated force. Her body had toppled forward at a rate, that combined with her having to be mindful of the damage the surrounding brittle coral would do to her unprotected palms, resulted in her twisting some portion of her lagging end in such a manner as it was not medically advisable to twist it. This had resulted in torsion damage to all of those mysterious points of connective tissue linkage. A sprain, the human medic had called it. There was apparently little even human medicine

Just because it's a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke

Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB

Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"

I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual

So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes

r/unclejokes for dirty jokes

r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC

r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes

Punchline !

Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub

Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat

[OC] Punt Rank 2021: Week 18 - THE SEASON FINALE! The NFL's best (and worst) punter of 2021 is crowned, a rundown of the Top 5 punt plays of the year and more punting stats and analysis than you could ever hope (or want) to read. For the last time this season... LET'S PUNT RANK.

WE DID IT Y’ALL. We are HERE. The end of the regular season. Every punt that was gonna be punted in the 2021 season has been; the stats are in the books, the film is in the can, my marriage is in the toilet – yes, it’s the 2021 SEASON FINALE of /r/NFL’s own painfully protracted and statistically questionable Punt Rank.

In case this is your first time a.) where the hell have you been and b.) you’re gonna want a quick explainer of how this works. Well - the concept is both simple and fantastically over-engineered. Lemme break it down:

  • Each punter’s performance against five vital punting metrics is ranked against every other punter in the league.
  • Those rankings are combined into a weighted average ranking – giving us the 2021 NFL Punt Rank.
  • Punt Heroes rise to the top; Punt Zeros sink to the bottom - and at the end of the whole flip dang season we crown our Punt King.

And that day is TODAY. Let's do this shit.

Week 18 Punt Rank standings and Punt Performance summary

Oh no you don’t. I’m not giving it up that easily! You’ll have to wait for (slash scroll down to) the 2021 season standings, while we round up what happened in our first ever Week 18 punts! For this week only… in descending order of percentage of Average Available Field Covered.

Week 18 Punt Performance Summary

Grey highlight - IR/NWT/Part Time Punter.

Good Week for

Braden Mann (NYJ). With apologies to our esteemed weekly leaders in Average Available Field Coverage (shout out Bojo, Dicko, [literally] Pat O, and... er… Lachy), I’ve got to bring my boy Braden out for a celebratory lap this week. Braden – come on down, and bring your ELEVEN MAGNIFICENT PUNTS with you my friend. It took us 'til Week 18 folks, but we finally crossed the rubicon from an exciting-but-frequent 10 punt game into that rare, thrilling and downright holy thing: the ol’ eleven punter. There have only been 23 such eleven punt games (excluding OT) in entirety of the 22 seasons since 2000 and the last one was in 2017 (this week’s punt trivia quiz - name that punter?!) so this is kind of a big deal, y’know what I’m saying.

What’s an even bigger deal is that Braden somehow managed to ride out the impact of having his second punt of the day totally and comprehensively blocked by Buffalo’s marauding Cam Lewis, to recover his punting day t

Ants don’t even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.

But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.

Citadel's fiscal year ends Dec 31. Whether they cover or not tell us if they think they are winning. I think some of the smaller hedge funds will begin to cover before end of the year.

Both 2020 and 2021 were shit shows. 2022 will be a recovery year. Anyone looking back at your performance as a hedge fund may give you a "pass" for those years. When trying to get new customers they would show their performance and say "we average 20% rate of return on investment...except those two pandemic years. We don't count those" and anyone hearing that would nod their head and say 'yes.. of course you can't count those years. That was an exception'. With many HF ending their 2021 fiscal year on Dec 31, there's a lot of pressure to make 2022 look good.

Now look what happens if they let these shorts drag into 2022.

If they feel they might lose, it would be in their best interest to put those losses down in 2021 where they can just be waived off as a "pandemic exception".

But if they feel they may win and have the shorts pay off, they would want that payoff to be in 2022 in order to put that profit into 2022.

I think some of the smaller HF will begin to cover before end of year to get that liability off their books... But the big guys are much too stubborn. And their pride is involved because we made it personal. They will try to hold. But if anyone has lined up dominos, we know all it takes is the first one to fall to topple the rest.

Thi
