A list of puns related to "Toei Animation"
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WaeqXWzaizY
As you may or may not know, a YouTuber called Totally Not Mark recently got the vast majority of his videos copyrighted by Toei. They were simple discussion and review videos going over what the series was, his thoughts on it, and typically, what made it great. He recently did reviews for the works of the Dragon Ball franchise and One Piece, both works of Toei animation. He had almost nothing but pure praise for both series, and even went as far to say for One Piece that the arc he was on was the best arc ever (went on for multiple videos straight, all the way to Thriller Bark I believe)
Sounds like heโs promoting and praising Toei, the creator of the anime, right? Well Toei just had to flex its big financial dick and remove every single video going over Dragon Ball or One Piece. Why? Because they own it. They donโt care that heโs giving them clout, they want to make it clear that itโs theirs (as if he didnโt emphasize that enough in his videos).
Because of these copyright strikes, his career is in jeopardy. I can accept that they have the right to do what they please with their property, but what the fuck.
I heard that totally not mark japanese audience were agreeing with toei and that those videos were disrespectful. So I wanted ask is this true?
I tried searching myself about this I found no results of Japanese people saying about this situation.
So I just wanted to ask you guys if you know any Japanese people who know about this?
Iโm sorry but Iโve yet to see anyone actually enjoy anime that utilizes 3D animation and especially because of how beautiful the Broly movie was to go from that to 3D animation which, quite frankly looks cheap as hell.
simply it is because of the shock value and the analysis value (not sure if this is the right definition).
let's take dressrosa for example , a booktuber was analyzing the manga version and talked about how so much is happening and how he needed notes to memorize what's happening , it is always good to have a discussion with the fandom about what's happening , and to connect the clues , surely Oda is one of the best mangaka at writing so may events and plotlines happening at the same time if not the best.
Toei animation killed this value by stretching the episodes , it isn't hard to follow anymore , this also happened at impel down . toei's bad pacing killed a very important part of one piece greatness , imagine dressrosa condensed to 40 episodes ? or 50 at most ,
the flashbacks of something happened in the anime before is also an example , >!laboon!< instead of letting us go back and see the situation and the dialogue , they just made a recap to all of what happened with laboon , Oda just drew one panel of the whale , in big mom's arc when the young hajrudin appeared, they made a recap for his scenes in the previous arc !!
for the shock value , >!Ace's!< death and >!squard's!< stab are good examples , they kept stretching the scenes which may make the watcher to lose interest . instead of just showing it as it is .
this is really hurting One piece as an artistic work , some says it is because the chapters difference between manga and anime , the point is , it only benefits the producers , they earn more money , but they hurt the show , and the fans of course , i hope people stop defending toei's pacing at least .
Hoping Toei Animation will get DGM, reboot the Hallow and continue the series. But copyright will enter in the scene here right? ๐ค
Found this an interesting and sad topic, it's show how awful Toei Animation are to some their biggest supporters, the little protection youtuber content creators have and Japan's werid hatard against their content being online. This unfortunate man and his team unfairly losing their main source of income just before Christmas.
So in today's episode (998)we got sanji saving momo from king and the brief fight betwewn them which they extended. Now I believe everyone can agree that raid suit Sanji> base sanji anyday right and sanji's raid suit kick didn't even do a speck of damage to king according to the anime (this is the scene they added which was not part of the manga) and this doesn't make sense because Sanji in chapter 1022 fights both king and queen together until zoro gets the healing drug , he got knocked down but he did fight them and had them in a place for atleast minutes and he did all this in his base form ( he hadn't awakened his powers then either). I know they did this to show how powerful king is but come on sanji ain't that weak. They downplayed it so much that even big mom, afucking emperor of the sea, looked more hurt by getting a metal bike to the face than king was by getting a full on raid suit sanji kick. I think they should've atleast made him acknowledge sanji or something.
This is admittedly a post offering a potential topic for another legal video. Specifically in regards to the copyright appeal aspect as a creator. Original video from TotallyNotMark for their experience with it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaeqXWzaizY
As you may have heard. TotallyNotMark recently had 150 videos removed from his channel. They were copyright claimed by Toei Animation, in a span of hours, with not enough time at all for them to be watched all the way through individually (50+ hours of content according to TotallyNotMark), as apparently required by Youtube as full context is required for evaluating fair use within the piece of media.
This additionally includes content such as redrawing episodes where TotallyNotMark and a few staff members transform stills to have differing art styles. Including education about the workflow of the animation industry, how certain episodes were affected by timeframes, and additionally how the art styles changed with different animation leads. Which is transformative by nature, given the whole point of the video is to transform the medium into another art style, and then educate the viewer.
This includes content regarding deep dives into the writing of episodes, deeper looks into what makes certain villains compelling, and how writing choices change the feel of certain episodes.
These actions have removed nearly 75% percent of all content from TotallyNotMark. The channel now has 53 videos to it.
Additionally recovering all of them may take as long as 75 days each, with Youtube only allowing the appeal of one video at a time. It would take just over three decades to recover all of them through this. Toei Animation reached out to TotallyNotMark earlier this year to advertise concerts that Toei wanted to hold as well.
I would recommend reaching out to TeamFourStar as they have had their own issues with Toei regarding Dragon Ball Z Abridged. Might be nice for some insight from other creators.
Overall this is a request. Please look into this on behalf of the smaller creators. To know that your career can be cancelled in hours by a large company, who worked with you in the past is simply haunting. So many animators and content creators begin their own careers through fan content. Camila Cuevas for instance, the animator for Glitchtale, a 2 season series with a third currently planned could lose half a decade of work if Toby Fox acted the same way.
If this isn't
... keep reading on reddit โกThey could support content creators like totally not mark that hype up their product instead they snuff them out itโs sad I can find full gifts from dbz or anything Toei on YouTube but they take down discussion videos that promote their community to talk about it or get new people into it
